Good Lord what a great place!…read more Hubby & I rolled in here needing some strong Cuban coffees to go! Score!!! Walking in, the place looks brand new, totally adorable & smelled so good we decided to hang around & stuff our faces while we were there with whatever they were cooking! Yeah! Lol We got their signature coconut cream seafood soup with the giant crab & the beef tacos, which are suppose to be their most popular dish. YUM! We have not stopped talking about this hidden jewel since we got back home! :)... The seafood soup was 2.die4! Hubby & I ate the whole thing. Then we fought over the tacos! Hand crafted tortillas from their own dough. Succulent tender quality beef seasoned to perfection then topped with super fresh cilantro & avocado. I never eat beef tacos but these? These have stolen my heart :).. They come with a red & green salsa. Warning: The red sauce is very very very HOT. I mean it's VERY SPICY. My whole face was burning for the remaining 5 hours drive home. Use sparingly or prepare yourself for torture lol The Cuban coffee with milk was delightful. Hubby drank them both. Good times ;) We are already planning our next trip back here! We can't wait to return! Highly recommend :)'

I hate ice in my drinks, so I always ask for light ice. When I was in Dallas, the locations there had different light ice amounts each time I ordered, but it was never a crazy amount of the cup filled. Ives had an actually insane amount of ice at the Monroe location each time I order light ice. It looks like the whole cup is full of ice and I ordered extra ice. I have no issue with the flavor of the drinks, they are still good, but when I'm paying $8.32 for a energy drink that I don't want a lot of ice with and you give me mostly ice and a bit of drink, it bothers me. The picture is the energy drink I got today after asking for light ice AND having them remove some. Before I had them remove ice, it was about 3/4 or more ice. I feel like the ice in the picture currently is a normal amount of ice, not light at all.

Set in the Fair Park Church, the cafe is casual enough for anyone. With meals that range from $5-$15, it's the best deal around. The food is delicious and the service is very good.
