Super good drinks! Our drinks were perfect, just enough boba, and not too much ice! I don't like getting drinks anywhere else now.

Not for me. They specialize in sweet flavored iced coffee-based drinks, not coffee itself. During a…read moreroad trip we pulled in on impulse. Drive-through was full so they redirected drive through traffic. Someone took our order before we could see the menu. Felt rushed, assumed we knew the menu, so more back-and-forth than necessary to order. I did not realize it was a drive-through strictly for iced sweet coffee drinks. I asked if they could do a hot latte or a flat white. They said they could do a simple flat white, made sure they knew I wanted it hot, but got something iced instead. Asked again for it hot, finally got some sort of cappuchinio (all foam). Most of it stuck to the waxy sides--smelled like dank moldy paper and wax. I probably should have looked at the menu online first (my bad there), but on the other hand, if a coffee place can't make either a basic hot latte or flat white, then why have "brew" and "coffee" in the name and show up as "coffee shop"?

It didn't have much flavor. I drove over 2 hours and never even finished it. The other was a vanilla latte. Coffee was so hot it burned my mothers tongue. Took over 40 min to a hour to cool down enough to drink. Again, was just ok. I've never been here before but if this is normal, not good. Hate to say but Starbucks was better.

Let's be honest…read more Ruston isn't exactly the first place that comes to mind when you think of craft coffee, fresh pastries, thoughtful small plates, and palate-forward cocktails. Then there's Common Goods. On a recent trip from New Orleans to North Louisiana, my friend Jacob rounded up a mix of locals and out-of-towners and said, "Trust me." He was right. Where do I even start? I use this word sparingly, but this place is a vibe. I walked in not knowing what to expect and immediately noticed the velvet yellow sectional, the clean design, and a room that was the perfect blend of curated and comfortable. Nothing was working too hard, yet everything felt intentional. Then came the cocktail menu. Whoever put it together understands balance. Sweet. Sour. Spice. Earth. The presentation was superb. I ordered the New Fashioned. Then another. Then...well...let's just say I quit counting after three. The Earl Grey infusion works, it somehow it makes a great Old Fashioned feel lighter, brighter, and completely new. The personal chocolate cake with salted caramel disappeared almost as fast as it hit the table. It was the unanimous favorite. My friends Paul and Racheal loved it so much they got their own, in chocolate and raspberry. The bread service deserves a mention. Fresh bread with balsamic and infused olive oil sounds simple. But there was complexity and finish in both. The bread had crisp edges and a soft middle. By the end of the night I was spellbound by their magic. Common Goods isn't just a great spot for Ruston. It's a place that could hold its own in New Orleans, Nashville, or Austin without anyone batting an eye. This place is a gem. And I'm officially obsessed. If you live in Ruston, this should be a weekly spot.

Owners Paul (the talented chef) and Kate bring such a personal touch to everything--they clearly care deeply about their customers and stopped by our table to chat, ensuring everything was perfect. Their genuine hospitality made the visit extra special. The food itself is outstanding. Everything is truly farm-to-table, with the restaurant sourcing all of its fresh ingredients directly from local farmers. You can taste the difference in every bite--the vibrant flavors, incredible freshness, and quality that only comes from supporting nearby producers. I especially loved their great specialty coffees, which paired beautifully with the seasonal dishes and breakfast/lunch offerings. The plates were exceptional, highlighting the best of what our region has to offer. We'll definitely be back soon (it's breakfast and lunch only, so plan your visit accordingly!) and will be recommending Lula Perl to all our friends and family. If you're looking for great service, exceptional locally sourced meals, and that wonderful personal care from Paul and Kate, this is the place! Highly recommend.

The menu has a great selection of breakfast and lunch fare. My daughter opted for the waffles and they were fluffy and delicious. I had the hash with brisket and it was hands down one of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten! I took a chocolate chip cookie to go and that made for a great snack a few hours later. Hope we are able to stop by this gem again sometime. A+
