It's a little out of the way but well worth it! I had the lo mein with beef, I highly recommend it. Pork egg rolls for an appetizer. Food and service were both great! read more

I came in and ordered 3 dishes. Bangkok Spring Rolls, Panang Curry, and Tom Kha soup. The Bangkok spring rolls are the same thing as summer rolls at other thai restaurants. This place is unique from my previous experience in that they used cilantro instead of mint leaves. It was unique and I like trying new things. The peanut sauce which came with it was not that great. It didn't have enough peanut flavor and it was too thin. I assume both issues are caused by the same thing. The parang Curry came and had a good spice level, however it too was thin. This makes dipping the sticky rice less enjoyable. It also had green beans which is unique, but that may be due to the produce of the area it's in. I didn't like it, but I won't fault them for it. This just wasn't my favorite dish. The Tom Kha was the disaster. It is my understanding that Tom Kha is tom yum with coconut milk. As can be seen from the photo, the tom kha emulsion broke and lead to a dirty flavorless broth. On top of that, the mushrooms in the soup had a boiled flavor. Mushroom taste better when they are cooked before adding the broth. This tasted like something that someone learning to cook will make. That's OK at home, but not acceptable for a chef to send out to a paying customer. Some good things are the environment and the service. It's a nice restaurant with a nice staff, however the food wasn't enough to encourage my return. read more

Absolutely love this place! My fiance and I frequent here for takeout and I would love to dine one one day but we haven't had the chance yet as we are new to town. I've had pad Thai in Belize and I'm very picky, but their chicken pad Thai is on my top favs. My fiance tried to the drunken noodles the other day and added in spice to a level hot and loved them! Cant wait to come back. Take out is efficient and the waitresses are very kind. read more

The new atmosphere and renovations have really made dining in a pleasure as well as the new staff really try to accommodate and please. The chef is amazing and the food is excellent. We eat here or pick up at least once a week. Everything we have tried has been really good. If you haven't tried it since the new owners then you really should. read more

I have only visited this spot twice and had the Pad Thai both times, but it wa a pleasurable experience with good service. Their Pad Thai is certainly better than Rawz. read more

Treat your staff like human beings! Not dogs. Fantastic food. However, the blonde lady with glasses who I believe is the manager, made the experience miserable. She was constantly berating and chewing out one of the waiters very loudly at the register and even in front of a table of guests. I saw a woman give him a tip to brighten his spirits after watching her humiliate him and YET AGAIN- she chewed him out for 10 minutes. (if i saw correctly, she even took it after he proudly and happily showed her, thus crushing his spirits furthermore) give it a rest lady. It was a headache to listen to her speak to the staff that way. We will not be dining in again read more

Back story my wife and I have been coming to this place for about 2 years and some change and we were sad to see them close down for a bit. But we are overly excited for what they would make new. It looks really well put together now and the staff was amazing. BUT the food wasn't as good as it used to be the food felt like it was missing love overall we left feeling a little disappointed. read more

I have not been here previously, or even to this part of town previously. Who goes to West Monroe Louisiana for Thai food? Apparently, I do. The restaurant is very empty on a Tuesday at 730p. I had Pad Thai ala West Monroe and a glass of water for dinner. The Pad Thai was surprisingly good. Above average. I would eat it again. However, the drinking water was outright disgusting. I couldn't drink more than about an ounce or two. I'm not picky. I'll drink water out of any tap. But this water tasted terrible. I wonder if the glass itself somehow fouled it. It was made of plastic. First time in my life that I have written I will not return to a place because the drinking water is horrible. Weird. However, I would order take takeout and take the food back to my hotel next time I'm in town read more

Not impressed. Was at first then my food came out and it was mediocre honestly. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing.

We went here for dinner last night. We had stopped for the night along the interstate, and didn't know where we were going to eat, and this was one of the closest places to our hotel. I looked up and yelp and saw they had a fairly good review. We were hesitant at first, because it was in a small strip spot, and you really couldn't see the front of the restaurant because it was behind a covered wall and had a banner posted in the name of the restaurant. We sat down immediately greeted by the waitress Avistar drinks. Very nice atmosphere with nice booths and tables. We asked her what she would recommend. She immediately recommended her favorite dish. we decided to try that and also ordered some crispy eggrolls for an appetizer. The eggrolls fried in excellent with a really good dipping sauce. She bought a order out, which was some sort of chicken and vegetables in an excellent tangy sauce. And then you said it was hot, but it was not that hot but extremely good. In fact, it's one of the best dishes we've had and I would definitely go back again, if we had lived here. read more

Good food and decent service! Went here with partner and we ordered the jalapeno poppers, green curry, and sushi. Everything was delicious! One star was taken off due to finding a fork underneath the table when we arrived, which didn't reflect too well on cleanliness but everything else was great! read more

Every time I travel for work I stop here the food is always good and fresh. The noodles and garlic shrimp are my go too

Great food, good value, very professional service. I would eat here every week if I lived closer. The food is fresh and so flavorful. I love the salads that come with the dinners. You could order several appetizers as your meal because they are amazing or get them and have leftovers. A win win either way. The dumplings, crispy rolls, and satay chicken are delicious. I am partial to chicken so the orange chicken and general tso chicken are favorites, but the pepper steak was very good. Never had a bad meal. This place is in a shopping center, but don't let this deter you. The ambiance is very low key, but who cares when they can get good Thai and Chinese! Service is great and fast. Give it a try. read more

My Pad Thai lack spiciness eventhough I asked for spicy but it's ok bc my wonderful waitress was always checking on us and got we needed. My friend had the seafood veggies noodle and she enjoyed it . My Thai Tea was really good. You will be surprised, some restaurant can mess it up. read more

I went here today. This place was delicious. Especially for Monroe! I had the Pad Buddha and the green curry. I always get two dishes so I can eat some of each and then get the rest to go. Y'all should try it if you like Thai food. It's kinda hard to find though. It's in a shopping center but the facade of restaurant is behind a red wall. Kinda confusing. They really need to put a sign on that wall. But the food is great read more

Found this delish restaurant spot when looking for a delish Asian style restaurant in West Monroe. I'm so glad Yelp led me to Bangkok Spice! The restaurant was inviting, clean, good service (even with one busy, busy server available for my section), food was very flavorful, and reasonably priced for the portion size. I will be back with friends! read more

Walked in last night at 9. The staff informed the that they were closed. I told them that Yelp told me that they were open. "We don't have control over that" was the response. Used to be a family staple, ate here at least once a month, usually more often. But the cooking lacks consistency and continued to snowball into a downward trajectory to the point we gave up wanting to roll the dice and hope one of the better cooks was working. If you're in the mood for hoping the good cook is on duty, I'd recommend Isan Noodles, Pork Fried Rice, Pepper Steak, Pad Thai, to name a few. My husband said their Pepper Steak was the best he'd ever had. The last time he got it, he suspected with changes in our economy, though, they had changed the cut of meat and it was tougher than usual. If you give 'em a shot, I'm rooting for a positive experience, because it truly used to be a family favorite. read more

Awesome spring rolls and sauces. Pad Thai was mild even when ordering "spicy ". Don't be afraid to kick it up a notch.

Came in for a quick dinner and craving Pad Thai. The place was not busy and I quickly ordered Pad Thai Beef. The wait was quite long, as it took 45 minutes from order to table, with only three others in the restaurant. The waitress apologized and discounted the meal. Now I have ordered and eaten a lot of Pad Thai, and this was not Pad Thai. The sauce was not right and they didn't use the correct type of noodle and missing traditional Pad Thai ingredients. I will say the dish tasted delicious, but not Pad Thai. A decent experience overall and good service. read more

In the back of a parking lot. Atmosphere is mediocre, but the food is a amazing. Great Penang Curry!!! Would highly recommend!

My favorite Asian restaurant in this area. Love the cheese wraps as an appetizer. My favorite dish would have to be the shrimp pad Thai made spicy hot. My hubby likes the fried rice with chicken and pork. The ambiance at this place could use some work, but don't let it deter you from getting some great food. They do a lot of carry out orders. Highly recommend! read more

I ordered for pickup last night and the food was great! What's lacking in decor and ambiance is more than made up for in quality of food & service! I ordered the Nonkai chicken and It was hot, freshly cooked and seasoned well! The salad was crisp and the shrimp and crispy rolls were...well...crispy! I've been seeing this place for over year -every time I sat at the CVS pharmacy drive thru. I'm so glad that I tried it! I got some great food for a reasonable cost! I will definitely return! read more

Tried this restaurant while in town visiting family and was very happy the outcome. Food is good abd staff is nice.

I'm from California I have lived in Louisiana for 10 years first time coming to this restaurant and I love it!

I've been coming to Bangkok Spice for about 6 years now. I have never been disappointed with my experience. The waitstaff is always very polite and accommodating. Every dish I've tried (and there have been a lot!) has been delicious and always freshly prepared. The spring rolls with peanut sauce are to die for! The Pad Kee Mow with chicken is a favorite of mine. I love their authentic Pho and Tom Kha Gai. The Pad Thai w/ Shrimp is very good also. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. Prices are reasonable. I've never waited long for my food. There is a bar so you can enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail with your meal. The restaurant is very clean. Definitely one of my favorite places to dine in NELA! read more

I love Bangkok. Granted unless you're a food pro, you may not know what half the items on the menu mean. DONT FEAR. The bartender there knows all the pro/con of the meals and can tell you what best suits your needs. If you're like me, I've ordered every appetizer on the menu. Another amazing thing is how quick they are. There is never a long wait. The mai tai is perfect as you wait. And always ask them about their Asian tea. It's something about their tea and half and half that is just so dang good. read more

I'd like to thank my fellow yelpers for allowing me to find this place. I'd like to shame Google maps for making it super difficult to actually find the physical location. I was bound and determined to find this restaurant for one reason only. They have Pho. I was told by several Monroe natives that Pho doesn't exist here. No. Just no. This is NOT OK! But, I whipped out my handy app and found out with a quick search that ONE place has it. (inner cheers and fireworks!) I stopped in to get take out. The place is located in a basically empty strip mall hidden behind CVS. It's not very large and has a bar nestled in the back. I naturally went back to the bar to order my take out and ended up sitting for 45 min chatting with the staff. So, i ordered the angel wings, spring rolls and of course, the Pho. The wings were just ok. They were super small although I enjoyed the sauce on them. The spring rolls were pretty standard although shrimp instead of the crab stick would have been more enjoyable. Now, the main event - the Pho. I was very pleasantly surprised on how good it was! Everything was very fresh, the broth had a great taste to it and I am super thrilled that I will have a solid option when I hit that craving. read more

Tonight my husband and I drove up to go grocery shopping next door and instead decided to try out Bangkok Spice. We were both starving and love Tai food. But we did not expect it to be the best we've had in the area for over a year and a half since moving here. We hoped for at least really good and were instead blown over.. We shared three plates..mine was the most wonderful green curry with pork I've ever had. More like a bowl of coconut curry soup with basil and water chestnuts and pork. And crispy green beans. It made me sigh and swoon inside. Next on the swoony. Experience was the fried pork dumplings dipped in peanut sauce. And the spring rolls. They were too good to express in words and instead we closed our eyes and grunted so much i would have been embarrased if anyone else could hear. My husband had General Taos chicken which was crispy and perfect and Pad Si ..I'm not able to quote or spell perfectly but it was a spicy shrimp and noodle dish he loved. The fried rice reminded me of my childhood days of having authentic Asian food in San Francisco. It was as if it was fried in butter. And also just as wonderful was the service. A charming and helpful kind comedian like young man who made us feel like we were at home. The music was lovely like a cross between Asian and french quarter...even the door was open letting in the cool night air. The prices were no more than any Asian restaurant but twice as much worth it. Clapping...not just a thumbs up. We missed going out on our anniversary last week yet I feel like this experience was better than any romantic date we could have planned. read more

After three lunches and a couple dinners, I'm confident that this is as good as Thai gets in rural northern LA. Yes, they would fail miserably in most major metro areas, but this is West Monroe, LA, chain-city. The Tom Ka soup is very good, but sadly not available in a size smaller than a bowl. I'm a fan of their chicken cashew and the curry dishes are pretty good, too. My pet peeves, and this one is not unique to Bangkok Spice... Why do restaurants in this part of the country not include a knife as part of the silverware offering??? Also, why the fried egg roll with the lunch specials??? And just for the record, Thai is served with steamed white rice, so enough with the "steamed or fried" rice question, already. Ok, back to my cashew chicken now that I've requested, and been granted, a knife to eat like a normal person. read more

This place is not bad, but not great. The options are limited in this area for Vietnamese food. If you want some Pho, you're basically forced to come here cuz I think this is the only place in the region (which is sad). If you have travelled anywhere out of Louisiana and had Vietnamese food, you'll realize that this place isn't all that. But....you take what you can get. The Pho is decent. Not bad. The phad thai is really mushy and overly sweet; not a lot of fresh veggies or anything like that. It's just kinda mush. The Thai tea is really good. Overall, it's like a 5.5 outta 10. But like I said, it's the only place around so.... Yeah. read more
