Love this place when I feel like splurging ($$$)!!! The Krispies are my favorite, and so are any treats that are salted caramel flavored! They have such a wide variety to choose from, that it is literally so hard to make a decision on what to get (especially for an extremely indecisive person like myself)! This place is HIGHLY inconvenient! First of all they are only open TWO hours everyday making it difficult to work around my schedule . You have to EMAIL them your order rather than them having a convenient online feature to make an order. And to top it off , they never answer the phone! Everything at social bites has been worth the pretty pennies I've spent here: the salted caramel rice Krispy, peanut butter cup brownie, cupcakes of all flavors, cake gems, King cake bars, & my favorite the petit fours. This is where I go to feed my sweet tooth and splurge a bit. Usually I get a couple of cookies, cupcakes and lemon bars. During my most recent visit I bought a red velvet cupcake along with other goodies. The red velvet cupcake was very disappointing. For that price I would have expected a richer taste from the icing to the cake. I could have gone to SuperOne Foods for their red velvet cupcake. It tastes much better. The cookies and brownies I ordered had way too much icing on them;the cookie split in my hands. No other complaints. I not interested in their customer service as long as they are not totally rude. They just need another recipe for red velvet cupcakes and lay off the icing. read more

Wow, this place is amazing! They have unique flavors and the cupcakes are so amazingly moist... The shop is shabby chic and so CUTE great for a girls hangout! The workers are so helpful. BUYER BEWARE: They do not give a price break for buying cupcakes by the dozen, and charged me 1.00 each for extra boxes! I didn't realize the extra charge until I was long gone and looked at my receipt. It might be different if I wanted a separate box for each one in the dozen, but I spent $48 in there. The taste was pretty good and they had lots of variety, but if you want a price break for purchasing a dozen or more, look up another bakery in town. read more

Best cupcakes ever! Although they are a little on the pricey side ($2.50 per cupcake), they are well worth the money. It's a good thing I don't live in Ruston anymore, or I'd gain many pounds as a result of this bakery. The red velvet cupcake and strawberry cupcake are amazing. They also have about five set flavors that they have each day and two specialty flavors each day (i.e. key lime, italian cream, birthday cake, wedding cake, etc.). Everything I've tried is delicious. Heather & her employees at Social Bites are just as wonderful as their cupcakes. My now-husband and I ordered Social Bites cupcakes for our wedding a few weekends ago. It started out as a cake gems order, then I decided I wanted cupcakes instead, then I had to change the quantity because way more people RSVP'd than I'd expected... Everyone I spoke to was super helpful, polite, and patient. The cupcakes turned out BEAUTIFULLY and were as delicious as expected. Our guests raved about them. A friend picked up our cupcake order the day before our wedding, and about 30 minutes later Heather called to say that somehow they'd only picked up half the cupcakes! The rest were still in the bakery - and they were about to close! Before I even had a second to panic, Heather asked where we were - she and her mother were packing up the cupcakes in their vehicle and driving them to us! Good cupcakes and brownies located in downtown Ruston. They also have cookies. They have plenty of indoor seating and a couple of tables outside for you to eat up or sweets. Service can be a little slow. They have a schedule where on certain days they have special flavor a of cupcakes. read more

There were flies landing in the cupcakes in the display case (which were for purchase). I know it's summer here now and likely hard to keep them out, but it was still disgusting to see gnats and larger houseflies on the merchandise. Some people wouldn't be bothered by this, but I felt it was my responsibility to let others know. read more

It is a little on the pricey side for baked goods, but you will not be disappointed. This is our go-to spot for cookies, cake or cupcakes for special occasions. I don't frequent it because of the price, but for a birthday, anniversary, etc. it is perfect. They do offer gluten free items which are really good. You will often be able to find gluten free cookies, brownies and cupcakes. read more

They are the BOMB!!! We are getting my daughter's wedding cake here. Evry layer is a different flavor & filling. My dtr & I had been to 4 different bakeries from Ruston to Monroe. Social Bites was the most organized. They also offered a wider variety in cakes, icings, & fillings. We were soo blown away by the moist & delicious cakes & fillings, we are using most of them in our cake. You have to make an appt. to come try the cake tasting. You will not be disappointed. Also try the brownie cookies. Tell them what filling you want & they will fill it for you. Try the salted caramel filling on it. It has flakes of salt in it. OMG!!! Im not a big fan of salt, but im in love with their concoction. Now that we have experienced Social Bites, everytime we go to ruston we have to stop there & get some goodies. read more

Stole my money!! Very displeased and this is a clear warning! I ordered a 3 tier grinch cake 2 months in advance for my grandsons 1st bday party amount was 279.00 went to pick up the day before party and cake wasn't ready on time. I paid the last amount of 119 dollars and left and came back for pickup one hour later. Cake wasn't correct colors and was assembled but was not in a box. They placed cake in my car wrapped in cling wrap the cake was starting to fall. No rods was placed through the tiers and I have pictures of the thin cardboard they left between the tiers. Went one block and came back and I walked them to my car to show them the cake was in the exact same spot as when I left their business 2 minutes before. They removed cake from my car and it completely crushed the bottom tier!! The weight of the top tier was 6 pounds! Owner refused to do anything and told me I would be charged full amount for new cake! And no refund! I told her the cake wasn't assembled correctly and to heavy! The party was the next day at 2:30! She still refused to do anything to help me and I told her I would ruin her business "by social media of course"! If I left without anything to show for my money. She just stood there shaking her head like she was in the right! Feeling defeated, I told her to box up the mess and bring me the cake because I wasn't leaving without anything! She went in back while I sat and cried and waited and she called the cops on me! The police officer asked if I threatened them or the business and I said I did by saying I would ruin them by word of mouth and as a consumer that was my right! After our conversation he went in the back and told them to give me cake. They gave me 2 crushed tiers and I was humiliated and they would not give me the bottom tier of cake! Of course because of evidence! I spent additional money the next day at the local grocery store for my only grandson 1st birthday party I had been planning for 4 months. We had a grinch party with store bought Elmo cupcakes ! I did not buy my grandson a present because my present was the cake which Social Bites ruined! Thanks but NO THANKS!! Extremely rude! does not know how to make cake with tiers! Small claims court next step! read more
