My favorite, fully raw spot! Super flavorful and yummy! Everything is made with so much attention to detail, lots of layers and flavors. The mushroom stroganoff was marinated nice and long so the kelp noodles were soft and saturated with the creamy sauce. I love how there was more than enough sauce covering the noodles. It felt so decadent and abundant. The strawberry pie was exactly what I was looking for. That fruit compote texture of strawberry and dates or rhubarb? In a date and nut crust. As someone who prepares raw vegan food and can get sick of the date and nut crust and cashew/coconut cheesecakes, I have to say that they stay on top with their variations. Typically I feel like I can just make everything myself, but their food is worth trying! The durian shake is also amazing! They let me try some of the extras and it was so delicious! Parking was a little confusing as far as whether or not the relatively small parking lot was designating for Peace Pies or it's neighboring restaurant (we parked on the street). Anyhow, they have relatively small indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was friendly and patient while we decided what to order. Everything is 100% vegan and they pride themselves in creating raw vegan dishes. The location is a little hidden, off the main road and if you're not looking, you'll miss it! I ended up getting the Mediterranean wrap, filled with veggies and served with Kale chips. I enjoyed the wrap but my TMJ was acting up and the wrap was a little hard to chew. The Kale chips were my favorite. They were light, crispy and packed with so much flavor! I thoroughly enjoyed them. Hubby and I shared the tiramisu and it was delicious! Perfect and light! Hubby ordered the nori wrap and enjoyed his although he said it needed more avocado. Prices are on the steep side, considering the overall experience, I would expect to pay this much at Cafe Gratitude. We ordered 2 wraps, a bottle of water, a pastry, and a chocolate bar... $50 for all. What an amazing place. It's quiet, comfortable, and though the menu is small, it changes daily and the quality is to die for, and totally worth the price! The staff is extremely kind, and the atmosphere is extremely inviting. They even have outdoor seating with pillows and the whole shebang. The location is behind the Mozy Cafe; blink and you might miss it! I do intermittent fasting and have a largely paleo, low carb diet and this meal was just what the doctor ordered and I highly recommend this place to people with dietary restrictions. We went here for dinner and loved the whole experience. Normally when you order before getting a table you pay, but the staff insisted we pay after our meal. The honor system right off the bat was welcoming and set the mood for the evening. There were three adults and a toddler in our group. We ordered the kids avocado toast and fruit bowl as well as the mystical mushroom quesadilla, burger (blanking on the name right now), and the Cauliflower buffalo wrap. For desert we got the chocolate cheese cake. I am a recent convert to the vegan diet and this was my first experience with a raw restaurant. The food was beyond 5 star, absolutely delicious. I want to move to Encinitas just so I can go here more often. The entire staff were super friendly. Even though they were busy cooking and cleaning they took the times to smile and engage us in conversation. The atmosphere is great too. The passion fruit vine growing overhead with tea lights is a nice touch. Great place to read a book, talk with friends, or just chill. Full disclosure - I am no vegan. While I eat vegetarian about 70% of the time, I can still appreciate a tasty burger or chicken kabob. Some friends and I intended to eat at Mozy Cafe on a Sunday evening but arrived to find it closed around 6pm. Next door is a tiny joint called Peace Pies. One of the guys finishing up his shift at Mozy Cafe told us the juice they make and sell at Peace Pies is great (spoiler: it is!), although he couldn't comment on the food. So we decided to try it out. There is a cute garden patio where we decided to eat, complete with succulents and various other plants dotting the atmosphere, and a string of outdoor lights overhead. Inside at the register, myself and a friend ordered mango curry wraps, my husband got the nachos, and my friend's wife ordered the nori rolls. For the kids in our party (age 2 and 4), we ordered a plain "cheese quesadilla." My mango curry wrap was delicious, with fresh vegetables and sweet mango slices. The veggies were wrapped with a large leaf thing (chard?), and then wrapped again in a coconut tortilla. However, I was really hungry before we arrived and unfortunately it was hardly satisfying. Not to mention this small-average sized wrap was $14! My husband liked his "nachos." My friend enjoyed her nori rolls although agreed that they were too small for the price. The kids "quesadilla" consisted of a coconut tortilla filled with cashew cheese, which they turned their noses up at. The "cheesy" kale chips served on the side were a nice idea, but way too dense and flavored. I make kale chips at home that are lighter, crispier, and taste better seasoned just with salt and pepper. Overall, Peace Pies has a good idea and are definitely in a prime location to succeed. Unlike a lot of other vegan restaurants I've been in the area offering vegetable/ whole grain medleys (not bad but make the same thing at home), this menu offers a lot of ingredients that would take a lot of prep energy to make yourself (variety of nut cheese, special wraps, "tuna", kale chips). This is great because I'm trying something new each time I'm here. Patio is nice on a sunny day otherwise get takeout. I came here with my mom based on her craving for a raw food and I'm so glad she introduced me to this gem. You walk in through an outdoor patio that's covered in passion fruit vines - super cool vibe - and then order inside. Small inside with a really mellow, laid back vibe. While I'm so so SO very far from being a vegan, I was in the area and wanted to eat something healthy. This place had a high rating so I thought, 'what the heck, let's try some vegan food.' There's a first time for everything right? Piece Pies is a little hard to find since it's tucked behind a fence and a outdoor patio, but there is a sign outside with an arrow pointing in. The place was completely empty as we walked through the patio to the inside. I guess vegan isn't exactly high on my fellow foodies 'to try' list. The menu looked simple enough and I wasn't looking for a full blown meal so my boyfriend and I got some sandwiches. The so called 'burger' ($9) and mock tuna ($9) were our choices. If we weren't going to get any meat, we might as well get something that tastes like it. The food comes out FAST, probably because there isn't really any cooking involved. The burger arrived on a flaxseed bun, with tomatoes and sprouts and a sundried tomato patty mixed with someotherstuffIforgetbecauseshesaiditallsofast. I gotta say it was pretty good. The mock tuna came the same way on a flaxseed bun with sprouts, and a mix of other things that made it taste like tuna but I don't remember what exactly. This one was also pretty good and somewhat reminded me of tuna. Both came with a side of kale chips which were surprisingly crunchy and delightful. You could definitely tell you were eating extremely clean. There's no gluten, no grease, nothing bad in it. Just straight up unprocessed food. For our first time trying vegan, it was a good experience, but I could tell that I wasn't exactly satisfied after my meal. I was full, but not the same kind of full I get from regular food. Not only that, but the food just burned through us, we were hungry again shortly after. For vegan food, it's good for what it is. I wouldn't mind having this from time to time for a healthy meal, however, I don't see myself crossing over anytime soon. Holy crap this place was sooooooooo good. It took a long time to check this place out because of the name. For some reason I thought they only sold pies. To start we shared the Mediterranean plate as an appetizer. They hummus and sauce were delicious. We ate everything except for the olives but that was more of a personal preference. We have been wanting to check these guys out, since we see them at the farmers market every week. Well during our 5 week cleans, we finally gave them a shot and we found out that we been missing out. I am no vegan but I can see myself eating here frequently because food is just delicious. I've been to the Peace Pies in OB quite a few times. And as much as I like it, Encinitas beat it! I love that this location gives you kale chips rather than dehydrated tomato chips with your meal. The Kale chips are so good that it is almost impossible to believe they are good for you. I have yet to figure out their seasoning profile. The quesadilla is my go-to. I am not vegan but my mom is so I was looking for a vegan place to grab some lunch on our way back to LA from La Jolla. I am so glad we found this place. This place is awesome. There are so many raw vegan options that are full of taste and color. I tried the street tacos which were nothing short of amazing. I also tried the mango wrap with curry which was not as tasty as the street tacos but it was still pretty good. For dessert I tried the brownie (also raw vegan). I've tried other raw vegan brownies in other restaurants but this one definitely wins. The customer service is just as good as their food. They were all very helpful and welcoming. I had tried to go to the location in ob driving around and around until to my disappointment, i discovered they were closed for renovation :-(... then I found out there was a location in encinitas! I walked in a bit uncertain as they only had a few items on the menu. The guy working there was super friendly and told us they had ravioli as a special, and a regular customer told us the pizza was really good. My boyfriend got the pizza, I got 2 ravioli, they sell them by the single ravioli not by the plate, and a strawberry cheesecake. The portions looked small, and I thought I would be hungry still after but it was actually quite filling! The pasta part of the ravioli was made of jicama i think? and a nut filling and served with tomato sauce and basil. This is one of the most delicious pasta dishes I have ever had raw or not. It came with kale chips on the side that had something on top that tasted just like parmasean cheese. It was AMAZING. The pizza was also good. The crust was sesame with lots of veggies on top, tomatos, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, mushrooms etc. It was really really good too but the crust was so crunchy and hard to cut I thought the flimsy knife would bust. The cake was amazing as well. I have to say this is probably one of the best meals I have ever had. Everything is reasonably priced for raw food, around $5 a dish. I will DEFINATELY come back. I think if you don't understand the food would be a reason to judge but please pick the staffs brains they are more than willing to help you understand why living food is tasty and can help out your body and the community. I am obsessed with the mango curry wraps. It's so colorful with all the fresh alfalfa sprouts, kale, mango, and avocado, comes with kale chips too. The raw desserts are scrumptious as well. Delicious food and of course pie! I had the cosmic coconut chocolate cream pie and it was heavenly. They have a huge selections of other great flavors... will definitely be trying them all eventually. I love to concept of this place, RAW VEGAN FOOD. It was my first time having a completely raw food meal, for me if was new but I loved it!! The food had so much flavors + felt very nourishing. My meal was paired with dehydrated kale chips topped off with a yellow powder. I also had dessert, the chocolate ruffle + a cinnamon roll, it's uncooked because it's raw but it's so yummy+ actually tastes as if it was cooked. Can't wait to go back! read more

Love the food here. Ambience is supercasual they have a great outdoor patio food is amazing desserts taste phenomenal. As a vegan this is my default stop here in the Encinitas Leucadia part of town. Prices are a little higher than average dining would cost. So make sure you're prepared for that. Staff is great and very friendly. I love the fact they have E3 live. Shakes are awesome.
