I have been to several other alteration shops throughout washoe county. I am very picky/ precise. I know exactly what I want and how I want the cuts and angles to lay and make no mistake ladies in gentle me this shop is the very best in town, period. Do you make an occasional mistake? Yes. Do I? Yes. Does business take longer every now and then, yes. And you know what that's okay. I don't wanna lie and say i've tried every single tailor and alteration place in town, but I have been to the majority of them and I am constantly looking and listening to who does the best work and reviewing their work from other people, and I am telling you this is the bet place in Washoe County to have any clothes altered, hemmed, worked on. What I love about this business is they make it right. I have been here more than twenty times, I'm me, and I keep going back because their work is impressive. That Good. Not only that they're honest transparent, they will call you back, and honestly, we're talking about getting your clothes altered it costs what it costs, it is not all cheap. We all know that. But you would think their prices would be right at the top, which would reflect the excellent work they do, but their prices are not at all the highest in town or even close. My first negative review. This is the first negative review I've ever written because I know reviews affect someone's livelihood. However, my experience as a customer also matters. This was the third time my alterations were not ready on the promised date. When I came to pick them up, my claim ticket showed one pickup date while her records apparently showed another. Rather than acknowledging the inconvenience or taking any responsibility, she immediately became defensive and focused on why the mistake wasn't hers. When I returned to pick up my completed alterations, I made a genuine effort to put the situation behind us. Instead, she remained dismissive. I asked, "Are we okay?" She waved me off and told me that next time I should find someone else. Mistakes happen. Repeated mistakes can also happen. What matters is how a business treats its customers when things go wrong. After three missed pickup dates, what I'll remember most is not the tailoring, but the defensiveness, the lack of accountability, and being told to take my business elsewhere. read more

I've been a customer for over 10 years. Used to love how quick and inexpensive they did alterations. The wait time for alterations has been increasing and their hours and days they are open have become much more limited. I just waited over a month for my alterations to be completed and they charged me $75 when I picked them up. It was to shorten sleeves on a coat and shorten the hem on a long skirt. I am going to try the new dry cleaners/alterations place that just opened on Wells Ave & Liberty. We'll see how it goes. PDQ has lost me as a customer though. read more

The WORST I just left there after a 2nd disappointing visit! Twice the seamstresses have cut off tags that were meant to stay on the pillow and on a pair of designer pants I was thinking of reselling on EBay after I made them the correct length. Ivy Park is Beyoncé's drop with Adidas. The pants have gone up a lot over time. Anyway my point is they have cut the tags off TWICE. This alone decreases the value of the pants. Today when I went in to pick up a pillow case that needed resizing, I noticed they cut the tag off once again. I was very, very disappointed. As I was leaving the seamstress was calling me the B word over and over again. Her husband who was outside confronted me and frankly scared me saying the F Word and B word over and over. I was truly frightened! Shame on both of them. No matter how angry you are if you have any class you don't speak to anyone using that language, EVER. read more

I had been a customer for 25 years, since moving to Reno in 2000. I had always had good service there in the past, but the past few years I've had terrible service & experiences! The owner, Cecilia, has become rude and unapproachable too! She turns down alteration jobs she no longer wants to do & her turn around time can take up to 5 or 6 weeks for pick up!!! ( I used to be able to drop off pants or dresses for shortening the hem, and be able to pick them up by the next week, now it can take up to 6 weeks!) Today, on a Wednesday, when they say they are open for business (her sign says Wednesday/11:30AM-5PM), I came to drop off a dress & top for alterations & she locked the door! Then she showed up at the door and yelled at me that she was closed!!! I couldn't believe how rude she was to me, after 25 years of giving her my business?! I will never go back to Cecilia/PDQ ALTERATIONS ever again! I am taking my business to MICHAEL THE TAILOR, on South Virginia, next to EL POLLO LOCO. He costs a little more, but he is friendly, professional, and his turnaround is fast,.....always has my clothes ready for pick up by the next week. read more

I don't use this business very often but when I need a fitting, this is the place I always go!

About half of my alterations did not come out as expected.

RUN!!! I took my special dress in 2 months early for my daughter's wedding. After giving specific directions on how to hem it, they hemmed it incorrectly making it a "highwater" long dress that was unwearable. They said they would pay for a new dress but were very ugly about it. I brought the second dress in and came back a week later according to their instructions. At first, they told me it wasn't ready, that I had the date wrong (not a chance) and to come back the next week - only a few days before the wedding. I told them I needed the dress then and they had me wait an hour while she sewed the dress. After hassling me about a receipt - she said they didn't have email and needed a paper copy (I ran to Office Depot to print out a copy) they treated me even worse when I picked it up. They threw my dress and check on the counter without saying a word. No "I'm sorry" at all. Their mistake somehow became MY fault. I ended up crying in the car, feeling like I had been abused. I have put this behind me but my dress has been somewhat tainted by their lack of kindness. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO TO PDQ. read more

I have never felt like more of an inconvenience. this place made me cry. Brides be warned. I've called 5 different times to see when a good time would be to take my wedding dress in for alterations. The first few times I spoke with the owner and her daughter over the phone (incredibly helpful and polite). after a bit of back and fourth, we came to the conclusion that end of January would work best. I tried taking my dress in today and the gentleman at the counter told me to come back tomorrow. I practically begged him to see me today since I had already taken time off from work. Since they don't do appointments, I'm not sure what works best for them. While I was in the dressing room, i asked him for a hanger for my dress so it didn't drag on the floor. he told me they didn't have one. (what alterations place doesn't have a clothes rack). This is an expensive white dress. I didn't think I was asking too much. Finally he shouts at a lady to come up front. Her tone is also incredibly rude, but at least she put some effort in to help me. i show her the dress and what I am looking for. she said they can't add a slit in a dress, and she sent me on my way. Overall, customer service here was unbearable. The staff was downright mean. 0/10 recommend. If you come here, ask for the owner. read more

We can always count on them......My husband has lost 30 lbs and needed 14 pairs of pants altered. Finished within 2 weeks. On time. He wasn't in a rush as previous pants were altered. If we needed something ASAP, we assume we could make the request. They are very accommodating. They have been in business for many many years! read more

I went in and they said they couldn't get it ready by a certain date and then my sister went in the next day and they said they could get it done sooner than the date they gave me?? This review is going to be pretty basic. I went to have a single button sewed back on a peacoat. I was told it would be $3-$4. They failed to write a price on the pickup slip. When I returned, they charged $8.00. It's dishonest and deceitful business practice and I definitely won't be coming back nor would I recommend anyone else to do business with this alterations place. I normally go to Alterations Connection on S. Virginia, in Midtown. Dawn is great, and they tailor all of the suits for Dillard's. This spot is pretty disappointing and do subpar work. read more

Nice people, excellent work! I had a pair of full-length zippers replaced on a pair of Gore-Tex motorcycle pants. Cecelia quoted a reasonable price and did a very capable and professional job of replacing the zippers. The job took a little longer than anticipated, but quality work takes time and she was very apologetic for the delay. She did a terrific job and I would go back to PDQ for other work. read more

My first time was great. I needed my suit pants tapered for a wedding, it took them a week (I think they can do it quicker for an extra charge), and it only cost me $15! I feel the quality was great, they are bilingual and can speak Spanish, and I am actually going to go back to have to another pair of pants tapered as well. Great customer service! read more

Excellent! I've used Pdq alterations quite a bit over the past few months and the service and price are amazing. I had them alter a long coat, turn a long dress into a long coat, repair a pant zipper and alter a few dresses. I can't emphasize how happy I am. I had an excellent experience with this tailor. I reached out to a friend who recommended PDQ so I figured why not. I went in to get two pairs of slacks tapered and hemmed. The people were nice as can be and quickly had me put the pants on and get the measurements. I was pleasantly surprised they only charge $15 per pair. I fired this company today for many reasons...quality of sewing, huge price increase and overall customer service as it takes this place a LONG time to get the job done....not sure if these latinos understand the word COMPETITION as lots of folks willing to do minor repairs for half the price as these guys....seems this place got greedy like so many other latino businesses in Reno...they used to try and convince me to pay cash so they can avoid credit card processing fees(that is illegal btw as I have sold processing for twenty years)....guessing their greedy karma will catch up to them soon.... read more

I needed two pairs of uniform pants taken up as they were to long and one was to big in the waist. I needed them done that day. The seamstress did an amazing job and the price was reasonable especially for same day service. I highly recommend this alterations store and will return when I need any alterations. read more

I have used PDQ a total of 3 times and absolutely love the service and quality work that I received. They were able to change out rank on military uniforms, removed outdated shoulder pads for 3 blazers, take in 3 dresses, hem 2 pair of pants, repair a rip in 1 jacket ...... and each time delivered on the expected due date. Plus, it is nice to find a service that actually has a tailor & a seamstress that has you try on the item(s) and tailors it to your needs. read more
