I decided to try this business based on the positive Yelp reviews. While it's important to me to…read moresupport small businesses, I was also tired of the long wait times at the more well-known alteration shops. As others had mentioned, Teresa was easy to reach by text and very friendly. Her pricing was also reasonable ($15 for shortening pants, for reference). The turnaround time for taking in a pair of pants and taking in the sleeves of a dress was only 1 week. The location on Bible Way was a bit hard to find at first. Note that she is now in suite 40, not 22. Also, don't expect a fancy store front or anything of that sort. It's a small and barebones operation, but there's ample room for getting fitted and trying on your garments after the alterations. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was a minor mix up when I went to pick up my items. I showed up at the time she noted on my receipt but she was not there. However, we texted to arrange a different pick up time and that went smoothly. I'd suggest texting to confirm before heading down for pick up since she's not always at the shop. Overall, though, the quality is good for the price, and I'd happily use Salas Alterations again in the future.

She was able to quickly assess where things were needed and didn't unnecessarily make changes where they weren't needed. She added a couple of fun touches to my wedding skirt to personalize it including some beautiful beadwork and a slit. Everything was done in about 3 weeks and was wonderful. If you want good quality, a reasonable time and price then SNA Alterations is the place to go.

The dress was swimming on me! I took it to Saji and she had to almost completely resew the dress in order to make it fit properly. Her finishing stitching and overall quality of her work was outstanding. I would recommend her to anyone who needs meticulous alterations.

It was filthy with someone else's makeup, sewing machine dust and oils and to make it worse the satin buttons were not reapplied correctly, spaced far apart and too close together, the straps had a inch difference between them, lost a strap button and replaced it with a random button, positioned the bustle in the wrong place and charged over $600. If I could give a lower star I would.

I'm posting this review because I've had a really hard time finding a seamstress that specializes…read morein wedding and bridal alterations in the Reno area, and none of my friends in Reno knew of any either... especially one that could take my zip-back dress and make it a corset back dress on short notice. If you are in a pinch, she is a life-saver!! David's Bridal wanted $200 and 8-12 weeks to make my dress a corset back. Colleen charges, depending on the dress and the beading, about $60 and takes a week, depending on how busy she is, to do this specific job - to give you an idea of her prices. Very reasonable. Since she works out of her house and has no overhead costs, she can have cheaper prices. In my case, she talked me out of it by showing me how it would bunch in certain areas if it were laced up and showed me a dress she had just altered in the same way that had thick fabric and looked great with that kind of alteration... And I see that she is right and it would have been a mistake for David's to make such an alteration, not that their seamstress mentioned it. Instead, she sewed on some straps that I can chose to use or tuck in ($10) and took in some fabric at the seems on both sides ($40). Very affordable. She works out of a wing of her house that is dedicated to sewing... Very cute. She even had a platform built in with mirrors just like in bridal shops. She can modify all kinds of formal dresses and clothes, but she said she'll even hem your jeans if needed. Oh, and she'll steam your dress for you so that it isn't wrinkly. I really liked her and trusted her to work on my dress from the start. She is a semi-retired lady who is super down-to-earth. She can even take a dress and help it meet Mormon/LDS wedding standards by helping cover up shoulders.... which I can imagine is tough to ask for at David's Bridal.

This was all great and I left the dress and I left happy. However, I then realized I hadn't gotten any documentation that I had left my dress there. I stopped back by and told the seamstress I had mistakenly left without an invoice or a receipt. She told me thats why I gave you a business card. I've never been to a business that doesn't at least give ticket of some sort or an Invoice so when I came back to get the dress I'd have something to show them. What if it was misplaced how would I have any proof they had the dress at all? It is a very expensive dress so I told her I didn't feel comfortable just leaving my dress without some sort of documentation and I asked if she could write something up. She told me no, grabbed the dress and took the pins off of it and shoved it into my hands. No dress bag, not even a hanger and told me to just take the dress. She then said that no seamstress does this. I was so shaken up I just said thank you and left. I have never experienced this kind of customer service. She was extremely rude when I kindly asked if they could write up an invoice so I could show it to someone in case she wasn't there. She snapped at me grabbed the dress and pushed it into my hands. I don't think it's too much to ask a business to give you an invoice or documentation showing they have your item. Anyone could pick it up. I've never had a business not do so. And for me to ask for this and then have her be so rude about it, that's what bothered me the most. I wasn't rude, I just asked a question. As far as the timeline, I sent out a message through yelp and had a message from several businesses including this one saying they had no problem with the timeline. I chose this one and was happy and openly thankful to her for helping out. I did not ask her to have it done by Monday I said I needed it by next Thursday. Thankfully I went to another place and when I mentioned to them that this place refused to give me a ticket or invoice, they told me they've never heard of that. They were very kind and not only gave me a paper invoice but also texted me the invoice as well.
