I needed to get a couple of dress shirts altered and also brought in a sports jersey. The service, craftsmanship, price and turnaround times are great! I'm actually going to bring a few expensive t-shirts to them to shorten as well as a few suits that I own that need adjustments. I brought an expensive genuine Adidas NHL Sharks Jersey to get the sleeves shortened. Maria has the equipment to do this FLAWLESSLY. I honestly couldn't tell the difference between the old cuffs and the altered ones, the stitching looked identical. The cost? I think it was way too cheap so I won't post it, but for altering a $200+ jersey, the work is incredible and I'll be buying more jerseys to be fitted. Two dress shirts were way too big for me, because I have to buy for collar size. Maria doesn't speak English well so Fred was interpreting. I put them on and she sized them up... after receiving them, I couldn't tell that they had been tailored and they fit fantastic! I've had numerous tailors over the years, most of them were 'acceptable'. I've never had this level of service and quality. They're so good I want to bring them more business, and I will. I highly recommend getting your alterations at Old Threads to New. I had a hard time finding a place that was open in the evenings in the area, but Maria and Fred are very accommodating of your schedule. I had a bridesmaids dress Maria altered and it was many sizes too big after losing some weight. Her and Fred were very professional and easy to work with. I found my wedding dress at a consignment shop and it was a vintage 1970s antique. Really gorgeous and delicate but a little modest for my taste. I took my dress to Maria to have it alternated with a few modern details. I asked for open shoulders and for her to take off the cuffs on the sleeves. I took a Pinterest photo to show her what my vision was. She made it happen, and in less than two weeks! They have reasonable pricing and you cannot ask for better customer service. Always wondering when a biz has all 5 star reviews--when my experience was different..Sometimes, it's a valid question--perhaps, how many friends does the owner have? Had a pretty unhappy experience here. I brought in a classic Oleg Cassini vintage Camel's Hair sport jacket made in the 1980's...This Cassini Sport jacket originally sold for over 650.00 dollars then-That's like $1,500 dollars now...This jacket is a well made classic--it has first class materials and is well made..and it still looks great--but the jacket had a few loose threads I wanted trimmed, and then resewn...Seriously, the repair looked like 10 to 15 minutes of work... Maria looked at the jacket, and thought this fairly simple sewing job would take her an hour (!)...Then her husband suddenly chimed in, and he looked at the jacket--and estimated 2+ hours of work --at $60.00 (!)...I asked about turnaround, and they said a 3 to 4 day wait... Felt like I was being price gouged, and time delayed, so I left...Maybe, brides, if you have a wedding gown and are desperate--go here... Later, we took the Oleg Cassini jacket to another shop--and they perfectly fixed what the jacket needed done, as I waited (!)-- for $20.00... read more

Maria is absolutely amazing! She made me feel like family during my fittings, She dose her work with so much love and care it made my dress that much more special! With every fitting she always made share I fully understood the process. She did go over the amount of promised work time (it was okay with me I had plenty of time before my event and my dress was definitely one of the most intricate prom dresses out there) but Maria did not charge me any more than what she had quoted me. I needed to have a bridesmaid dress hemmed about 6 weeks before the wedding. I called, left a message, and received a call back within minutes. They got me an appointment quickly and were so kind and helpful. Maria is such a sweet lady and made me feel comfortable and confident that my dress would look great on the day. She had my alterations finished within 2 business days and the dress fits perfectly and looks beautiful. I bought a bridesmaids dress a few months back. While waiting for it to arrive I found out I was expecting baby number 2. The shop I had to order the dress from had a no return or exchange policy so I had to find another solution. I grew so quickly with this pregnancy and my dress was not going to lace up and look decent in the back unless professionally altered.i took the dress to this shop and Maria not o my said she'd be able to make it fit, but she made it look like it was originally purchased this way. She added extra paneling and worked a sewing miracle!!!! She was so fast and she charged a VERY reasonable price for how much work she had to do. I am so grateful that she was able to fix the dress to fit my growing pregnancy body so I could be in the wedding. I brought an item here that I was going to sew myself but soon discovered was beyond my skill level. I had not been here before but decided to take a chance since the other place I had gone to in the past was just "okay" and was slow to get my items back to me. Let me tell you how happy I am I found this place. First, the owners are just about the nicest people you could do business with. Second, Maria did a fabulous job!! Third, my item was ready the next day. Last and best thing, the price. They were more than fair on the price for the quality and speed with which the work was done. I was going to try another place in town but she wanted 3 times what I paid here and told me would take at least a week. This is the place I will bring all my items to that are beyond what I can do.
