I decided to try this business based on the positive Yelp reviews. While it's important to me to…read moresupport small businesses, I was also tired of the long wait times at the more well-known alteration shops. As others had mentioned, Teresa was easy to reach by text and very friendly. Her pricing was also reasonable ($15 for shortening pants, for reference). The turnaround time for taking in a pair of pants and taking in the sleeves of a dress was only 1 week. The location on Bible Way was a bit hard to find at first. Note that she is now in suite 40, not 22. Also, don't expect a fancy store front or anything of that sort. It's a small and barebones operation, but there's ample room for getting fitted and trying on your garments after the alterations. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was a minor mix up when I went to pick up my items. I showed up at the time she noted on my receipt but she was not there. However, we texted to arrange a different pick up time and that went smoothly. I'd suggest texting to confirm before heading down for pick up since she's not always at the shop. Overall, though, the quality is good for the price, and I'd happily use Salas Alterations again in the future.

Every single seam on my husband's suit is bunched and looks terrible because it's a light colored fabric. You can see every wrinkle and shadow from a mile away. The belt loops are sloppy, unfinished, and frayed, and the pockets are so small a petite woman couldn't put her had in them let alone him and his 6'3" build. The waistband of the pants bunches up when he buttons them, the zipper she put in is hideous after she opted not to use the one we dropped off that matched the fabric. When my husband picked it up NONE of the seams were pressed and it looked like she crumpled the thing up and shoved it in the back of a closet. She also made a comment when he was trying it on that his suit jacket "looks like a dress" because it has long tails. Ma'am this is not your garment, not your idea, and not for you. It's not your place to pass judgement on someone's ideas and creativity. You clearly have zero personal style or respect for anyone else's taste. You had ONE JOB and that was to sew a suit WELL ENOUGH TO BE ON THE GROOM OF A WEDDING!!! Your job is not to judge the fabric color and decide you don't give a shit about making it look nice, and you were definitely not paid to do as sloppy a job as possible. If you didn't want to do the project, you could have let us take it to someone who actually cares about other people. You WRECKED $600 worth of fabric and made it look like garbage. 100% silk lining is just as wrinkly and bunched up as the rest of the suit. None of the seams are pressed, they're literally ALL wrinkly, and the collar and lapels don't even lay down properly. I am absolutely livid that this woman wasted our time and money and gave us garments that look like a kid in a home-ec class could have done a better job. The most infuriating part is that she dragged her feet on making this suit so badly that we don't even have time to get it fixed by a proper tailor before the wedding. Only enough time to pray that a dry cleaner can press it well enough it looks presentable. I do NOT recommend this place at all and do not understand why she has any good reviews when the other review photos also reflect her shoddy workmanship. This place is probably fine for hemming pants, but that's about it. I will never set foot back in this shop and will tell everyone I know to avoid it as well. You can deflect like you have in the other comments, shrug it off, and say "can't please everybody." That's a terrible attitude to have when you're out here treating people's weddings like they're a costume party you don't agree with.

I went back today, Thursday, to finally get it. I asked twice for an estimate and was told twice that I would get a call for how much cash to bring. I'm an idiot for accepting that answer. I almost fell over when after a month (that was stressful) waiting for my dress -it was not a complicated hem job on an easy fabric to work with and a small shoulder strap adjustment I was told $100!!! And it wasn't even pressed!! Absolute rip off and horrible experience. I will NEVER go back. My neighbor said I should have gone to Bobby Page's. Now I know and now you know, too.

Saji did an amazing job on my wedding dress. I'd ordered a custom piece from Etsy and in between…read moreproviding my measurements and the creation of the dress, I lost two dress sizes. The dress was swimming on me! I took it to Saji and she had to almost completely resew the dress in order to make it fit properly. She did an amazing job on the dress and was so wonderful to work with. The dress turned from swimming on me to being my dream dress and I have Saji to thank for it. Her finishing stitching and overall quality of her work was outstanding. I would recommend her to anyone who needs meticulous alterations.

She was able to quickly assess where things were needed and didn't unnecessarily make changes where they weren't needed. My first negative review…read more This is the first negative review I've ever written because I know reviews affect someone's livelihood. However, my experience as a customer also matters. This was the third time my alterations were not ready on the promised date. When I came to pick them up, my claim ticket showed one pickup date while her records apparently showed another. Rather than acknowledging the inconvenience or taking any responsibility, she immediately became defensive and focused on why the mistake wasn't hers. When I returned to pick up my completed alterations, I made a genuine effort to put the situation behind us. Instead, she remained dismissive. I asked, "Are we okay?" She waved me off and told me that next time I should find someone else. Mistakes happen. Repeated mistakes can also happen. What matters is how a business treats its customers when things go wrong. After three missed pickup dates, what I'll remember most is not the tailoring, but the defensiveness, the lack of accountability, and being told to take my business elsewhere.
