Dave answered my emails and calls in a timely fashion, and worked with me to make an appointment to save my sanity. The whole job took a few hours, and in that time he restored everything back to its original settings, reloaded software I had purchased, and he actually got rid of junky programs I didn't need that were taking up extra hard drive space. He even reloaded a new virus scan program, brought back my preferred web browser, and configured my wireless so I no longer have to plug my laptop into an Ethernet cable. Dave was a very down-to-earth regular guy and was very easy to talk to. I would continue to call him instead of the hyped up franchise company I will not name. :) In fact, he told me he sells used computers as well, and I WILL be calling him to replace that 11 year-old POS inhabiting our home office. Dave quoted me a very reasonable price, so I am very pleased that I can get a deal through him versus spending 4x more elsewhere. I HIGHLY recommend Dave's Computer Services!

I looked online at the cost of getting this retrieved. Let's just say at Christmas time, those prices make you want to cry. I had seen this place but never had a need. But I went on line and sure enough in their huge list of services they provide, data recovery was listed. I emailed them on Sunday (early evening), later that night I already had a reply. On a day off for the store. They told me they could try to get the data off and if they were unsuccessful they would help me get it to another company to try. You can't beat that for service. So I dropped off the drive Monday night. Tuesday afternoon, I got a call. They were getting really positive results. It seemed as though they were going to be able to restore most if not all of what I lost. They decided to let it continue to run. They asked me how I wanted to get it returned. Whether I wanted to buy a new drive elsewhere or one of theirs. At that point I turned to them for advice. I obviously didn't want to have this happen again. So they offered me a large external drive with a 3 year warranty. They handle the warranty portion for you. They transferred all my data to this new drive. And all of this service for $350 at a local vendor. Just to give you a little understanding of what I was quoted online for this service (without the external drive) was in the area of $1000- $1500. And that was to mail it out and insure it on top of that. So needless to say, I am extremely pleased with Build-A-Comp's technical work and customer service. Just FYI, if you are pc gaming person they make very cool pc's. I know nothing about them, but based on my experience, I would expect a great machine. I highly recommend these guys. Thanks.

After speaking with a multitude of companies, I was met with many dead ends. With these previous companies, communication would stop or people wouldn't show. Then I contacted Christensen Computer Company. Richard called me very shortly after I sent a request. He was flexible with scheduling a day to come look at our cameras. He was very communicative during the whole process and always made sure I received a call back. When he got here to look at the camera, he immediately started investigating. I don't know much about cameras, but I knew our system was older and had a LOT going on. I could tell right away, Richard was very knowledgeable. He immediately spotted all the little pieces of our system and how it was connected, and confirmed it did have a LOT going on. However, this did not deter him. Richard explained to me how our system was set up and started talking about different solutions depending on the problem. Our camera ended up needing a simple fix and it has been working great since. Our office is now talking about installing more cameras for increased security. He was very patient with all my questions, gave me a few good options, and was very understanding about our requests for estimates. As to why I'm so well taken with them, the main reason is their techs are friendly and knowledgeable. Their prices are more than reasonable. They also have multiple locations as well, which makes it convenient to get to depending on where one is when. I've taken 2 MacBook Airs, 1 MacBook Pro (Schaumburg), and an iPhone (Des Plaines)... and a partridge in a pear tree! Just kidding, about the partridge, the pear tree however, facts! Just kidding on the pear tree as well. Long story short, the techs knew enough about what is worthwhile for me to repair, let me know the problems, and the cost to repair. They obviously also repaired everything I agreed to have them take on. So far so good, no problems whatsoever. Their setup seems to be simple, come in, explain what's going on, drop it off, wait for them to take care of it, then pick it up. For me, as I work on these items here and there, the price was very reasonable and I was honestly surprised at which point now I don't have to do the one-off repairs for when a family member spills a beverage, cracks a screen, or wants a new battery, I tell them to go to ZombieTechs or I go to ZombieTechs for them.
