Years ago I went to the shop to fix my cracked iPhone, but what they did made me furious 1.they said they would fix with an original back, but instead they sticked with a FAKE ONE! The camera lens was a size smaller than the original. 2. They formatted my phone without asking permission! All my photos including my graduation commencement was all gone! Not professional at all. I used to go there for advice and they had a crew of young folks who seemed pretty sharp A few weeks ago I was looking for a mac power cord and brought mine in asking if they had a replacement the fellow at the counter took a look at th cord and toolkit back to the "technician" in back returning to tell me they had no such part in stock that the USB C was old and no one used them anymore, no I'm not joking, then I looked at the computers they had for sale and asked if they had any smaller notebooks like a Zenbook or XPS 13 and the guy looked at me like I was from Mars. Something not so useful is happening there i had best shop elsewhere for that sort of need or any other computer related needs. read more

A neighbor recommended this place to my Mother when a storm shorted her computer. Ultimately it was decided that it would be cheaper to purchase a new computer rather than getting a new Motherboard. However, the staff was able to retrieve all of the information on her computer. Not only do they fix computers, but they also sell their own plus laptops and printers. In addition, I believe they will set up a network if needed. The people there are nice and knowledgeable. However, when I took my computer to be fixed myself I had a different experience. The staff was still nice, but when my computer was returned, I still had the same problems I had before. My neighbor swore by this place, but I could only go off my own experience. All that being said, if you'd prefer bypassing a change store like Best Buy, you should give them a try. Perhaps your experience will be different from mine. read more

They were unable to repair my computer after three tries. They then refused to refund my money. They were incompetent and rude as well.

This place is a life saver!!! When I had a faulty piece of hardware in my computer, I called them up during the quarantine when it failed and they told me over the phone how to fix it and it was fixed in 20 minutes!! These people are the nicest most well knowledgeable people in the world!!! If you ever, and I mean ever need help with anything, go to them because they know what's up!! I have been using these folks for both my business and personal computer needs for over 10 years. I have purchased 7 computer from them and they have repaired and reformatted computers that I purchased elsewhere. While they sometimes get backed up with repairs (after Christmas) they have always been very honest and even when a problem has been elusive, as many computer problems are they have been extremely patient. read more

I came to PC After Dark to get my computer screen replaced and they did it in a speedy manner. The store looked nice as they had a lot of merchandise but the computers on sale seemed older. Also, the customer service wasn't too great. I didn't get a smile or anything extraordinary in terms of courteousness. Overall it seems like a decent place to get your computer worked on! read more

we moved to the area from out of state & weren't excited when we needed computer repair as we do not trust any computer place. we decided to give these guys a try. was on a referral from a local. 5+ yrs later, we are still using them. recently, my pc crashed & I called & spoke to a patient, informative individual. He said bring it in... I did AND I got it back 24hrs later. not only was everything fixed, but it was prompt & professional. we use this place for our laptops, desktops, more memory & our business!!! My mother recently took her computer to PC After Dark to have it Restored. When she got the computer back, she realized that she could not access Yahoo on the internet, so she took it back. When she went back a second time, she realized that viruses were back on the computer, and she asked them to fix it for free since it was still under warranty. They did not acknowledge her warranty, and they charged her an additional $25.00 to remove the additional viruses. She is very unsatisfied, and she said she will not be returning. read more

I took in an old computer that had issues with booting up and also a broken CPU bracket, and missing a drive bay door spring which i was assured was in stock and no problem to fix. Little to my surprise, this shop is run by complete incompetents. I at first had asked for an estimate for a possible upgrade, which after 5 minutes of trying to explain to an older female clerk I realized was not a good idea, I told her forget that idea. Then, it got worse. They did manage to isolate the issue, a failing video card, only after I mentioned it worked ok once removed. For this, I was charged $75, tho that did include a new bracket and a dab of thermal grease. I got home to discover the video card was missing, and the drive bay door spring wasnt replaced. I got an oh yeah the card was dead, and we didnt have a spring after I called the shop for the 3rd time. Once checking out, I again had to tell them to delete the upgrade estimate information! Trust me, this shop shouldnt be in business if they have this much trouble with such a simple order. And btw: instead of a couple days, it took a solid week, though I take into account they might have been busy. Then I discovered the technician had deleted every last one of my games off the machine, now i get to dload and reinstall a LOT of data ugh! read more

I recently took my computer to this store for repair and had one of the worst experiences ever. I took it in because I thought I might have a virus but according to their diagnosis, my hard drive had failed. My computer guru cousin has since told me that they would not have been able to retrieve my information if my hard drive had actually failed. He has had a lot of experience with computers so I tend to now question just what I was told at PC After Dark especially after the subsequent treatment I received. I also asked them to check my CD drive at the same time. After three weeks with no communication from them and after many unreturned phone messages to call me, I finally got someone to acknowledge that they had not worked on the computer. After they did finally fix it, I paid $150 for a 80 gb hard drive. They did not fix my CD drive which I assumed was done since when I asked at pick up about it they told me that it was working properly. When I got my computer back home, I noticed that the brightness on my screen was much lower than it had been but assumed that they had changed some settings when transferring my information from one hard drive to the other. I also noticed some clicking noises when I opened my computer. Hating to take it back so soon due to the poor response time the first go around, I waited until I realized that the clicking sound was due to my hinges being loose. I assumed that they had failed to put them back on properly after working on the computer. From that point, everything went from bad to worse. They promised that the hinges could be tightened and were a simple fix. The hard drive, they said, would cost approximately $19 to replace. Beware of their advertising for low costs to you because there is always an excuse. That $19 estimate escalated to $39 eventually several days later (once again they put it on the shelf and did not return it as they had promised to by the next day). The hinge repair was not a quick fix but was finally estimated at $89. I would like to emphasize here that when I took in my computer, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the hinges. They refused to accept responsibility even when they finally figured out that the hinges were riveted to the main frame of the computer (I was told that they had never seen anything like this before) and their explanation for the hinges being loose was that "it was an old computer.". As I had told them when I first brought in the computer, I did not want to spend a lot of money on repair since the computer was 7 years old and I could get a new Toshiba Satellite for as little as $450 at Best Buy with the lowest hard drive being 350 gb. I told them not to fix the hinges since they were still functional and to order a new CD drive for me but that I wanted the computer back while they were waiting on the new drive (this was after it was promised by the office manager that he was "sure" that it could be replaced with one from the many used Toshibas they had in the back for parts for the low price of $19--of course this turned out to be a falsehood and I don't believe they ever checked for any spare parts ). When the computer was returned to me, the left hinge was completely destroyed. Apparently in looking at it and trying "to figure it out", they completely pulled it out. I now cannot open and close my computer (it has to sit opened) to keep from damaging the screen electronics cable. My CD drive works intermittently, the fan runs constantly after they claim they "blew it out and supposedly fixed it." I have had 2 system failures since the return of the computer but they claim that the hard drive is fine. I have declined to take the computer back in since I wonder what else will be wrong with it when I get it back and have left several messages for the store owner to call me, all of which have been ignored. So I now wait for the "used hard drive" they installed to fail and hope that you will beware of putting yourself in the same position. read more
