TLDR: casual spot with great combo sets as well as yummy sushi for a great price The place is right on the corner in PB, very casual sushi spot that has a ton of booths and bar seats as well as 4 tables for two. The miso soup was good, it had a good tanginess and normally I'm not the biggest fan but I enjoyed this. May b I hungry The entree came with so much and it looked beautiful The salad was very fresh, the dressing was flavorful but not heavy The California roll was standard, tasted good The spring rolls were spectacular, I always order spring rolls everywhere- standard crunchy and soft inside with more of a garlic hint which I like, and it comes with the sauce! The PB chicken was big and crunchy, it was pretty good just tasted like Panda Express I do not like how the rice is not enough for the chicken. It seemed even less than a scoop too The lemon salmon was quite good, the lemon is the main note and the rest was mainly crunchy. The imitation crab inside pairs really well with the salmon. My boyfriend and I stopped into PB sushi after a beach day and we were impressed! We ordered two rolls- the big shot and veggie tempura rolls, as well as garlic edamame and cucumber salad. Additionally, we ordered a draft Sapporo and a bottle of unfiltered strawberry sake. The big shot roll was a huge hit with my boyfriend, he said he would absolutely get it again! I enjoyed my veggie tempura roll, but did not find it to have a ton of flavor. However, you can only get so picky with vegetarian sushi so I don't fault them for it. The cucumber salad and garlic edamame were both fantastic! We especially liked the raw garlic flavor on the edamame and thought it was some of the better garlic edamame we have had in San Diego. Finally, we loved the strawberry sake and would recommend anyone going to share a bottle of it! It tasted like a dessert and just blew us away. The ambiance was to be expected of a mid range sushi restaurant in PB (clean, well maintained, but nothing to write home about). However, the service was absolutely phenomenal! We did not catch the man who was helping us out's name, but he was so nice and helpful and far exceeded service we have received from much nicer restaurants. PB sushi is a great place to stop into for some reasonably priced sushi after the beach! While there is better sushi in San Diego, for the price, service and location you can't beat PB sushi! read more

I order delivery and oh boy what a disappointment. The agedashi arrived with no sauce. Yes. No sauce. The hand roll as you can see in the pictures very poorly rolled and there was almost nothing inside. Other places add strips of cucumber and carrots. Look at the pictures. The Alaska roll was really a California roll with tiny pieces of salmon on the top. No chopsticks, no soy sauce. I spent $56. As much as I want to be kind this was really bad. This spot holds a special place in our hearts as it was our first date night!! During college we went here often and always had the best time. This was the first place I ever had sushi - the OB roll so good!! We've visited twice with our kids and I was surprised to find that it's a very family friendly location, the server was great with our kids. There was something for everyone and the sushi seemed very fresh. Everything came out quickly and the veggie sushi rolls were phenomenal. My husband had one of the chicken dinner entrees and loved it. It came with so many sides - miso soup, California roll etc. We all shared the sumi salad and Edemame which were both great. I visited this place on Wednesday June 10th, hadn't been there in some years since I moved to another state and I used to love this place. Food was ok, sushi was good but not as good as it used to be. Service was HORRIBLE, our waiter not only did he not bring our drinks, nor did he come to the table once after someone else brought our food out. No apology for forgetting our drinks nor how was your food or ask if we needed anything else; All while he was in the front bullshitting and laughing with the waitress and other waiter. Ambiance was ok, table was so sticky and so was the floor I had to go to the bathroom and clean the soles of my shoes place was not very clean at all. Literally had to raise my hand and voice to get the really bad waiter's attention to get our check. Definitely do not recommend this place we got such bad service and the place only had a few tables busy so no excuse. read more

This place was a present supprise. The vegiterian sushi felt fresh and crisp with good flavor combos and the staff was super friendly and quick. A long time ago I had a Mexican sushi fusion place that left a bad taste in my mouth so I was hesitant to get something similar at this place but on recomendation I did and it was great. The Pico de gio, crisp veggies worked well without feeling out of place. It was a big roll so it was pretty much impossible to do it in one bite but that is not that big an issue. The parking was surprisingly not too bad and free juat a block away. Overall a good spot to grab a bite. There weren't a tone of veggie options but the ones we got were good. read more

This place is on Garnet Ave and Everts St. We went for AYCE for $39. It ends at 8pm and there is a 2 hour time limit, so get there before 6pm. I posted the menu, prices, and rules (see photos). We ate a lot and the staff was very friendly. There is not a huge selection of nigiri included but good enough. Good variety of rolls. Sashimi is not included. The fish was fresh and well prepared. I'll get right to it and the first thing that I absolutely hate is there was Zero prices on the menu. I included photos of two different menus which we'll see there was no prices. Apparently they were supposed to give us a piece of paper to make our Sushi selections on and that included the prices but we never got one of those and we did not even know about that piece of paper until after eating at the restaurant. My friend was not happy that she ordered two rules that were $19 each. And mine were about $14 each. She definitely would have ordered what I ordered if she had seen the prices. The service was also lacking. The hostess was great and she seemed very stressed I heard her say to one of the sushi chefs that two people called out. But then the other server and the hostess who was also serving occasionally we're both just running around and it seemed chaotic which was very disrupting to the guests. I used to come here all the time and now I rarely come here and I can see why. It is street parking only and there are meters out front. When I called and asked, they said they were sorry about it and they forgot the food in the fridge and forgot to give it to the delivery driver. Then said you can just come pick it up!!excuse me? Why did you think I ordered Uber eats so that I wouldn't have to drive!!! There was nothing they could do about it. I have to contact Uber for a refund. Why should they be getting paid for food that they failed to give to the driver? This isn't Uber's fault. The eggrolls and the calamari that we got were first of all soggy and second of all inedible because the calamari was so chewy.. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. So let's start off with first things first, this place advertises all you can eat and that stops at 8pm. So get here early. Secondly, they try to upcharge you for substituting spicy tuna for tuna and explaining that away by telling you that tuna is more expensive than spicy tuna--what a crock of crap! The interior of this place is a similar to a very low end diner. The service is prompt, so there is at least that. The menu is incredibly overpriced and the quality is at best subpar. This is at best a last resort stop if nothing else Oh and they managed to mess up the order plates. Ahhh.... Time to go elsewhere and forget I came here. read more

Well I can't tell you about the food because I was never seated. I made a reservation for 9pm on my way into San Diego. I was really excited to try this sushi spot because I was celebrating my birthday and I love sushi. It's kinda hard to find ayce sushi spots so the fact they had it here made me look forward to it. It said they stop ayce an hour before closing which is 9:30pm. When we arrived there was a small line and I asked if I had to wait being that I had a reservation. The guy told me to hold on and went to talk to a few other people. They ended up seating the 2 parties ahead of us then proceeded to tell me he couldn't honor my reservation because "it was made recently" whatever the hell that means because on open table there were still 2 spots available for reservations. He told me the wait would be about 10 min so I asked if that would interfere with the ayce and he said they stop serving ayce at 8pm. 2 1/2 hrs before closing!? I'm convinced he lied to me because I saw him seat the parties before us and handed them ayce sheets with their menus! maybe they didn't want to seat us because I had my baby and young daughter with me. Customer service here is horrible and I'm so disappointed!! We walked out and went down the street to the grass skirt and even though it wasn't sushi I'm glad they had great customer service and great food. our GO TO sushi spot, and we live a ways from it but the drive is worth it. we always get the same items from the menu and i LOVE it. we come here so often, our server sarah recognizes us every time we come back and that's always a nice feeling. it makes the experience more personable. she's always kind, and very attentive, but honestly, all of the servers are! our order is: gyoza garlic edamame salmon salad ceviche roll baja roll here and there, i always like to try out other items from the menu as well but will always go back to these items. would definitely recommend! read more

Not a fan! I live in NYC and get sushi often. It doesn't have to be anything fancy and love finding a good hole in the wall. I ordered the Dallas roll and the garlic edamame from PB Sushi and the whole thing just tasted a bit 'fishy' too me. Not sure what went wrong but it did not taste fresh and even the garlic edamame tasted off. Won't be going there again unfortunately. There was also an issue with the ordering function of their online order that automatically scheduled the order to be made in over an hour, although there was no actual wait for the order. read more

The restaurant was busy but we had great service the entire time. We ordered the garlic edamame to start, which we felt was way too garlicky and overpowered the dish.
