Even better it's adjacent to a paid parking garage so we were steps away from the restaurant on such a freezing cold night. The waitress was helpful because all the appetizers sounded so good. We went with her eggplant suggestion. I could've had that as a meal. I can be quite picky about the bread on a table, but this was delicious. It was warm with a nice crust with olives and Evo. I ordered the Pappardelle bolognese it came with a dollop of mascarpone. So good and hardy I couldn't finish it all. Hubby ordered the shrimp Fra Diavilo with pasta. We had reservation unfortunately we were set on the outside patio in the beginning it was nice and warm but there was a hell of a draft! I went with four girl friends so we ordered 3 appetizers for the table then dinner. we ordered the stuffed artichoke the mozzarella corraza and the truffle fries. The Mozzerella was terrible very dry and over fried. we changed it for the eggplant appetizer. Then dinner came out 3 lot of 5 dishes were dry sauce with penne ala vodka sauce with chicken was bone dry one girlfriend got the pasta and broccoli rabe there was no sauce whatsoever. My other girlfriend got chicken franchise again bone dry. I am not sure what the chef was thinking, but obviously something was wrong. I'd give it two out a five stars. So..my family decided to check out this place for an anniversary dinner during mid-week. The calamari was perfectly fried. The bread was a bit too dry, but the main dishes were really tasty. The skirt steak was grilled to perfection. My short-rib with mash potatoes were melting in my mouth. The salmon dish was also delicious and good portion. Over all, the food was 8 out of 10. We, the four of us, had appetizers before we went to Count Basie appetizers were very good. We sat in the outside portion that is enclosed, which was a little cold. Charcuterie board was filled with meats and four pieces of tiny cheese, but the Barrada was good, the salad and one of our friends had the Calamari which were very large. very loud! Oh, I am so sorry to write this review, but I think I must. Been to Pazzo many times and always quite good. Until today. Was there for lunch with a friend. Servers seemed "confused" Two servers came to our table within a few minutes of each other. "Tim" took our drink order (1 iced tea, one Pinot Noir). Then, the other server came to our table and asked the same thing (i.e., drink order). When the drinks were delivered, we ordered our meals. Took forever for our food to come out. (One order broccoli rabe/sausage with orchietti; one veal marsala.) The veal marsala was so over-floured and there were just chunks of veal, not scallopini. I brought the "left-overs " home and threw them in the trash. Took "forever" to get the attention of Tim (who apparently was also bartending) to get our check and leave the restaurant. We ate here at the end of May and the food was delightful. Service was very good, Tyler was our server. It was a Wednesday night, not too busy and Tyler and his helpers were attentive. We enjoyed as appetizers, vongole oreganate and polpette damiano (meatballs). Both perfect. For entree I had Veal Marsala, (only my homemade is better), my wife had a veal chop special. Service was good until the end of the meal when the waiter couldn't be found. We ordered a gluten-free pizza for an appetizer which was pretty good. My son ordered the penne alla vodka with chicken which he loved, my skirt steak was ordered medium but came out rare and my wife ordered the halibut which she ordinarily loves but it was somewhat fishy. My wife isn't one to send back dishes but I usually have no issue doing so, so the steak is on me since a simple request to cook it slightly more would've addressed my situation but the halibut shouldn't have been served. That said, the kitchen needs serious attention. The seafood risotto had no visible seafood and was dry with an overpoweringly fishy taste. My mother's dish was so salty she couldn't eat it. My father's shrimp looked undercooked and translucent. My wife's meal the special tasted okay, but the portion of fish was embarrassingly small. My son's chicken fingers were so bad he only took one bite. I tried them myself and had to spit it out. Great service, but the food was far below expectations. Really disappointing overall. So I am a little torn by my visit to Pazzo since while I see good potential and some good highs, the lows we experienced were really head scratching bad. My party of 4 arrived on a Sunday night and while we were promptly seated, it took a while for our server to introduce himself and provide menus, bread, and olives. While taking our order, our server seemed very knowledgeable about the menu, interested in pairing our food to our wine, and a very affable young man working a late Sunday shift. However, the problems started almost immediately once the food started to come. On the waiter's recommendation we ordered a Calamari and a Caesar Salad to start and a bottle of wine. While the Calamari was honestly some of the best I ever had; crunchy, not rubbery at all, and well flavored, the Caesar salad was literally just lettuce with 3 croutons. When we asked the waiter about it, he was sorry and mentioned that "when the head chef is off on Sunday's the kitchen crew sometimes slacks off". It took 15 minutes for us to get an actual Caesar salad from the slacking off kitchen which eventually tasted as promised. When it came time to for mains, we also were in for a bit of a shock. My wife's dish of Shrimp Oregenata, for $39 mind you, was 5 normal sized shrimp and less then a palmful of Zoodles. Is that how big the portion actually is or was the kitchen slacking off again...the world may never know. Our other mains were of normal size but in all cases, the pasta and risotto were undercooked. Now back to the wine I mentioned at the start, while the waiter allowed us to taste what we thought was an off-menu wine that was only $15 more then our original choice, the wine ended up being $25 more on the bill. Would I go back to Pazzo...maybe? Just need to make sure that the head chef is in to babysit the kitchen; then you might get what you actually ordered. read more

Our first time here. Like the ambiance Waitstaff was great so they earned the 2 stars for you Our special drinks were jalapeño margaritas which were not spicy which means not enough tequila. The waiter was nice enough to bring over a couple of shots of tequila to add to the drinks and made it right. Ordered a second round and they once again tasted like margarita mix from a bottle. My husband had lasagne which hardly had any meat in it, my friend ordered chicken Marsala It normally looks brown and it came with a reddish sauce I had the skirt steak which came cold but I didn't want to harass the waiter about it so I just ate it All in all no one was crazy about their meals Even the appetizers were pretty bland. Food was good. However we went specifically to use a gift certificate to celebrate a birthday. The owner refused to honor the restaurant.com gift certificate. It explicitly said it did not expire and we followed all the 'small' print on the certificate. The owner claimed they do not accept the certificates any longer and told me to take it up with the website. They used to take the certificates but decided to no longer honor them. They could have done a better job defusing the situation, none of us have any desire to ever go back. If you no longer honor the certificates you should remove yourself from their program. I would not have been able to print the certificate today and would have seen that you have removed yourself from the program if you had done so. read more

The good: as we walked in we were greeted by a friendly host that opened our door and it was incredibly polite. We were seated in this very nice Italian restaurant which is nicely decorated and immediately put you at ease. It is comfortable, not noisy, which is rare in today's eating establishments. Certainly put us in a good mood. The bad: from the get-go the waitress did not smile, was completely dismissive, was turned away half the time as she was talking to us, and at the end of the evening literally through the check on our table while walking by. Rude does not begin to describe it. And by the way, a coffee that I ordered before dinner never arrived an hour and a half later. Worst service of any restaurant I have visited in the past year, and that's saying a lot! The food looked incredible, judge for yourself by these pictures. But unfortunately you can't judge a book by its cover. It was disappointingly oversalted, had little taste, in some cases lumped ingredients did not fit together, and clearly made it evident that the preparation was not done by a chef but by a short order cook or someone who makes pizzas on the go. This place was always a favorite to go to when we'd go to a show at the Count Basie. I was there for the first time in over a year last night. Saw a a sign when I walked in the there was new management. Also unlike my visits in the past, the dining room was half empty. Menu looked no different. I ordered two apps I always loved, the meatballs and the eggplant napoleon. Both tasted like leftovers, the meatballs were just OK but lacked the depth of flavor and firm but tender texture I remembered. They just fell apart. The deep-fried eggplant had an overly thick breading that held an excessive amount of the frying oil. Clearly, the new owners are letting the place slip. Too bad. read more

So this is the second time Iv been to Pazzo and it's honestly just not good. Nothing about the place. We had a reservation for 630. We arrived at 610. They said our table wasn't ready. Understandable, we were early. So we found a place at the bar and sat down for drinks. About 15 mins later we received a text our table was ready. Go to the hostess and said we received a text our table was ready. I gave our name. The hostess seemed annoyed at us and said it would be 10 mins yet. Lost our spot at the bar and now have to stand and wait. About ten mins later were brought to a table that they're still cleaning off, and the bill for the last patrons was still there. We ordered our food. We had to constantly ask the waiter for something and he was never around. For appetizers we had calamari and stuffed artichoke. Both were just ok. For entress we had two pappadella pasta and bolognese. This lacked flavor and was ok. I had the linguini and white clam sauce. It was ok. For dessert we shared a cheese cake. On the reservation I put that it was my wife's birthday. Not even a candle. Then to finish the meal we were given the wrong bill. So from service to food it's not worth the cost here. If I remember with drinks the meal was $200 total. For 3 pasta dishes and 3 draft beer? The worst part was the birthday girl had a bad experience. There are to many other options locally. We were a party of 10, the ambiance is magnificent, our server Sofia was polite, professional, friendly, made excellent recommendations for our party and everyone was delighted. The restaurant is busy but efficient. We did not wait long for drinks, water, appetizers or our food. Every single thing we tried was better than the next. The fish is amazing, the beet salad on point. The charcuterie board was fresh with a honey twist every piece was devoured . Pasta was delicious as well.
