    a pizza on a plate

I ordered the margherita pizza which was amazing especially for the low price point. The restaurant was understaffed however the food came very quickly. The only complaint i would have is that the tartufo was a bit pricey for the serving size but it was delicious nonetheless

I don't recommend the Nutella pizza that tasted a bit strange to me & it didn't look appealing either.

Grabbed a pizza to go…read more Ordered a half pepperoni and half killer bee. They don't let you do half on all pizzas but the first 5 or 6 on the menu. The pizza was great. Nice crust with a good chew. Good amount of toppings. Really solid New York style pizza. Dave Portnoys pizza review went to their downtown location and gave it a 8.4 if you follow him. There was no parking on Avenue but I found some parking on the residential street just North of the restaurant. The inside is really nice with comfy seating. Not a ton of seating but I think they get a lot of takeout. Service was good but I did have to wait more than the 20 mins they said as they seemed to be dealing with online orders.

Tried North of Brooklyn Pizzeria and it did NOT disappoint…read more I got the Caesar salad and a half Margherita / Killer Bee pizza, and everything was amazing. The Caesar salad was SO crunchy and fresh--like every bite had that perfect crisp, and the dressing was light but still super flavorful. You can tell the ingredients are really high quality. The pizza was just as good. The Margherita was classic and perfectly balanced, and the Killer Bee side had such a rich, unique flavor that made it stand out. And the crust? Light, slightly crispy, and just done right. Honestly such a solid spot--I'll definitely be back

I noticed that the eatery boasts a number of normal-sounding pizzas on their menu, but I definitely wanted to try something with a little Persian flair, so I decided to go with the Supreme Beef option ("Beef Smoky Jambon, Persian Sausage, Green/Red Pepper, Mushroom, Olives, Mozzarella Cheese"). The first thing I noticed was the lack of tomato sauce, which I found a little concerning. But as it turns out, my worry was unfounded since this pizza absolutely did not need the sauce. (The order included a bunch of packets of ketchup, and, after trying a few bites with that tomato-based concoction, I have to admit it works better than you'd imagine.) Anyway, this is an absolutely delicious pizza. The pan crust is perfectly cooked, while the various toppings are flavorful and complementary to each other. The gooey cheese ties the whole thing together perfectly. I also enjoyed the white sauce that came with the order, as it was a tasty vehicle with which to enjoy the crust. I'll definitely be ordering from Pizza Shab regularly in the future.

Food: Outstanding pizza. We had the Calabrese and it was excellent. The crust was perfection. Service: Also outstanding. The server was pleasant, helpful, attentive. Ambiance: The design of the building, inside and out, is lovely. Modern, yet Italian music was playing over the speakers, like one would want in an Italian resto. The bad: Well, not really too bad, but to our taste, the over-all lighting was a bit much. This place would be well served with the light turned down a good 50% or more. Sexier and romantic. And candles, even the battery operated or rechargeable ones, an ambiance would be knocked out of the park. In any case: Highly recommended.!

The homemade squid ink spaghetti only faintly tasted of squid ink and didn't pair that well with the tomato sauce which overwhelmed it. The mussels were not open (sign they aren't fresh) and had sand or pieces of shell in it. Tiger shrimp was a good size and the calamari was tender. It wasn't a hit at the table. The rest of the dishes were much better. I would recommend the pizza or the Vitello Saltimbocca instead. Pizza had great texture and the toppings are creative. Dessert of tiramisu is light and delicious, that was a winners.
