When you arrive, she meets you at the gate behind her house with a bonnet on her head without greeting you at all. Her plan is to take your dog and walk away unless you speak. The energy was so cold that I ended up speaking first because I felt uncomfortable. I almost canceled the appointment because something felt off, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. I should've followed my instincts and left. She also charged a $30 matting fee, even though I didn't feel any matting myself--but I paid it without questioning. She texted me at 11 and informed me that he would be ready in an hour to an hour and a half but wait for the next message. I headed to her house and once I was parked I received the exit text. I never received the exit text until 1:20 PM . She claimed she sent it at 11:59, but it never delivered to my phone until I was outside of her house. As soon as the message reached me, I thought I was completely on time. Her own instructions say she has bad service so if she can have bad service other ppl can too. She informed me that I missed the grace period. I explained that the message had just come through. Her response was, "Did you not read the entire message?, I told her I thought after I received this message I had 30 mins but I was already outside of her house. After she saw I wasn't going to pay an additional late fee she just told me to meet her at the gate. This is exactly why a business with bad service should call--not rely on unreliable texting. When she handed me my dog, her face was angry and she still didn't speak, didn't greet me, and had an attitude. And what concerned me most was that my dog wasn't wagging his tail or acting happy afterward, which is not like him. If she treated me that rude, I can't help but wonder how badly she treated my pet. I was shocked at the way I was treated as a new customer. Between the lack of communication, the rigid rules, the attitude, and the fees on fees. I said never again. I prayed over my pet and I would never go back even if I could.

I've seen this cat sitting on the front desk where animals are checked in and out, which feels very unsanitary and unprofessional. Today when I brought my senior dog in for grooming at 8:00 AM, there were two stray cats lying right at the entrance. I frequently see stray cats roaming around the property, and it's clear they are being fed. As we approached the door, one of the cats began hissing and clawing at my dog. This created a stressful and potentially dangerous situation before we even made it inside. What made things worse was the grooming experience itself. I dropped my dog off at 8:00 AM and by a little before 2:30 PM I still hadn't heard anything, so I called to check on his status. I was told he still had "another 30-45 minutes." I then asked if my senior dog had been taken outside to relieve himself after waiting there for over six hours. The response I received was, "we don't know." Leaving a senior dog waiting that long with no communication and no clear answer about basic care is unacceptable. Between the stray cats roaming the property and the lack of communication and oversight with grooming, I no longer feel comfortable bringing my pets here.

Karens Pet Grooming - Come on in!

Although it's been a litttle over a year since I had to put my fur baby down. I just learned some…read morerecent information. It's about rat poison. A young lady post in nextdoor, that she took her baby to Karen's pet grooming and 3 days later had to put her dog down due to rat poisoning. Now here's my story. I took my dog to Karen's pet grooming on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Sunday, October 13, 2024 is was acting very strange and would barely eat and his poop was red, looked like blood. As the hours and days went by he would not eat, nor drink. That Wednesday mornin, October16 he was very weak to the point he would/could not walk. We had to take him outside, lift him up so he could potty. I called Angie at Karen's pet grooming, not sure which day that week, but I did call her. I asked her did she give him anything to eat because he has been sick since after his grooming there. Of course she said no. My daughter took him to work with her that Wednesday (vet hospital.) I was called and told he had jaundice and that he was very very sick. Had I only asked for a drug test. He was given some meds and they watched him at the hospital during her work day and tried to make him eat. No luck. When my daughter came home with him that evening she cried and told me if we can't get him to eat tonight, we need to take him back that next morning, Thursday, October 17, 2024, to make a very hard decision. That's what we had to do. We had to have him put down on October 17, 2024. Yes that was over a year ago, but after reading the post the young lady wrote about her fur baby going to Karen's pet grooming getting sick and dying and it was rat poison, I had to google. It stated that if a dog eat some rat poison it can cause jaundice. The poison can cause significant liver damage. There was a time before I took him to Karen's pet grooming and he came back with terrible diarrhea. I called Angie asked her what did she give him and of course she said she doesn't give them anything because she don't know what they are allergic to. He got better and time went on. Now after reading what i recently read, and researched what happened. My advice is DO NOT TAKE YOUR FUR BABIES TO THIS PLACE! It's been a little over a year, but after reading that post and finding out what I found out, that my fur baby of 13 years who was very vibrant and well going in there to be groomed and getting sick the next day and put down 5 days later was possibly poisoned. My heart broke all over again as if it just happened.

I show up at exactly 12p, they do not allow you to enter with instructions to honk your horn or call 1st RED FLAG. Karen comes out and gives me a small sheet of paper that ask if he has up-to-date shots (yes or no) his name, my phone number, email address, and can she take pictures for Facebook. I call her at 1:30p she said my dog hasn't been groomed and she will call me 30 minutes before his grooming is finished. I call her at 2:37p and a man answers the phone, I express my frustration and concerns about it being almost 3 hours later and my dog still not being groomed, he has Karen get on the phone. Karen immediately says, I'll rush him, he'll be ready in 20 minutes, calls me in 10 minutes and says he's done. When I arrive she says that next time if I need him in an hour let her know. She said she had to blow dry him, I wasn't sure what it meant, but the style I was expecting for my dog wasn't executed although he was clean. He is a white schicon and she did not clean his eye area properly because she was rushing. My issue is how were you rushing on an appointment at 12P and you had him for 3 Hours? Something isn't right about this place and I do not recommend.
