Is there a higher rating than 5 stars? Listen... listen, listen... Ethyl Taylor is a phenomenal,…read moreGod anointed, BLESSED, and highly favored human being! Let me tell you why... I have a 13yo Shih Tzu who, until recently, LOVED our long daily walks. He's fit and looks like the Apollo Creed of his breed. Sadly, Kairo suffers from heart disease, has to take 4 different meds, and wheezes when he breathes. He's now special needs. His regular groomer is not available due to a family emergency, then upgraded to no longer gro0ming. Kairo's hair was growing excessively, and he started to quickly mat which become increasingly uncomfortable. After calling dozens of groomers who had no dates available until Nov, I finally booked a next day appointment with Pet Smart. I explained Kai's fragility in concise detail, agreed to stay, and sign a waiver, but once I arrived, they treated us like we had the plague! The Manager resolved, but no way I was letting them touch my Kai. I sat in the car frustrated! Dear Lord, who has the kindness to groom special needs dogs? Google hears my question and provides a few choices. First up was THE DOGGIE WASHERETTE, which - I called based on the EXPERTISE listed on website and left a message. Then took a closer look, read the medical updates, and assumed she was not available. I asked God to continue blessing her journey and called a few others. About an hour later, SHE CALLED ME BACK! Ms. Ethyl explained her "specialization" with dogs in Kairo's condition, we made an appointment just 3 days later, and ...WOW! She treated Kai like he was a newborn baby! He looked and felt fabulous after she gently relieved him of all of his knots, filed his "stilettos" nails down so he can walk on his paw pads, even treated the yeast between his toes, and I was so incredibly THANKFUL! The Doggie Washerette is a magical place run by an unbelievably, amazing, human being - Ms. Ethyl. Kai was quietly knocked out 5 minutes into our ride home - feeling sensational. The is no other for us! God Bless you and your phenomenal care for our senior pets with special needs.

Although it's been a litttle over a year since I had to put my fur baby down. I just learned some…read morerecent information. It's about rat poison. A young lady post in nextdoor, that she took her baby to Karen's pet grooming and 3 days later had to put her dog down due to rat poisoning. Now here's my story. I took my dog to Karen's pet grooming on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Sunday, October 13, 2024 is was acting very strange and would barely eat and his poop was red, looked like blood. As the hours and days went by he would not eat, nor drink. That Wednesday mornin, October16 he was very weak to the point he would/could not walk. We had to take him outside, lift him up so he could potty. I called Angie at Karen's pet grooming, not sure which day that week, but I did call her. I asked her did she give him anything to eat because he has been sick since after his grooming there. Of course she said no. My daughter took him to work with her that Wednesday (vet hospital.) I was called and told he had jaundice and that he was very very sick. Had I only asked for a drug test. He was given some meds and they watched him at the hospital during her work day and tried to make him eat. No luck. When my daughter came home with him that evening she cried and told me if we can't get him to eat tonight, we need to take him back that next morning, Thursday, October 17, 2024, to make a very hard decision. That's what we had to do. We had to have him put down on October 17, 2024. Yes that was over a year ago, but after reading the post the young lady wrote about her fur baby going to Karen's pet grooming getting sick and dying and it was rat poison, I had to google. It stated that if a dog eat some rat poison it can cause jaundice. The poison can cause significant liver damage. There was a time before I took him to Karen's pet grooming and he came back with terrible diarrhea. I called Angie asked her what did she give him and of course she said she doesn't give them anything because she don't know what they are allergic to. He got better and time went on. Now after reading what i recently read, and researched what happened. My advice is DO NOT TAKE YOUR FUR BABIES TO THIS PLACE! It's been a little over a year, but after reading that post and finding out what I found out, that my fur baby of 13 years who was very vibrant and well going in there to be groomed and getting sick the next day and put down 5 days later was possibly poisoned. My heart broke all over again as if it just happened.

I contacted Karen less then a week ago on a Thursday and I was told that his appointment will be…read morethe following Tuesday at 12p and I could bring him between 12 and 12:30p. I show up at exactly 12p, they do not allow you to enter with instructions to honk your horn or call 1st RED FLAG. Karen comes out and gives me a small sheet of paper that ask if he has up-to-date shots (yes or no) his name, my phone number, email address, and can she take pictures for Facebook. I call her at 1:30p she said my dog hasn't been groomed and she will call me 30 minutes before his grooming is finished. I call her at 2:37p and a man answers the phone, I express my frustration and concerns about it being almost 3 hours later and my dog still not being groomed, he has Karen get on the phone. Karen immediately says, I'll rush him, he'll be ready in 20 minutes, calls me in 10 minutes and says he's done. When I arrive she says that next time if I need him in an hour let her know. She said she had to blow dry him, I wasn't sure what it meant, but the style I was expecting for my dog wasn't executed although he was clean. He is a white schicon and she did not clean his eye area properly because she was rushing. My issue is how were you rushing on an appointment at 12P and you had him for 3 Hours? Something isn't right about this place and I do not recommend.
