After 14 years of bringing my pets here, today will be our last visit. There is a cat that freely roams around inside the clinic while clients' pets are expected to remain restrained or secured. I've seen this cat sitting on the front desk where animals are checked in and out, which feels very unsanitary and unprofessional. Today when I brought my senior dog in for grooming at 8:00 AM, there were two stray cats lying right at the entrance. I frequently see stray cats roaming around the property, and it's clear they are being fed. As we approached the door, one of the cats began hissing and clawing at my dog. This created a stressful and potentially dangerous situation before we even made it inside. What made things worse was the grooming experience itself. I dropped my dog off at 8:00 AM and by a little before 2:30 PM I still hadn't heard anything, so I called to check on his status. I was told he still had "another 30-45 minutes." I then asked if my senior dog had been taken outside to relieve himself after waiting there for over six hours. The response I received was, "we don't know." Leaving a senior dog waiting that long with no communication and no clear answer about basic care is unacceptable. Between the stray cats roaming the property and the lack of communication and oversight with grooming, I no longer feel comfortable bringing my pets here. read more

Dr. Basheer Ahamed has been amazing. He diagnosed my very young cat with luxating patella in 2023 and suggested great surgeons to help my cat. Perfect experience. He recently helped my older cat with horrible dental problems, also a very direct and excellent experience with the exception being they refused to prescribe her any post surgery pain medication, I was so distraught to learn of this; I called and yelled. I do feel bad but surgery of 10 teeth being removed, stitches...and no after care pain med? I begged for anything to help her pain over the next few days and was told no. Super upsetting. I drive down 301 frequently and have no idea this place existed. My regular vet was full and recommended this Vet because they were unable to accommodate me. I was able to get in the same day, the receptionist was helpful and explained what I needed, the vet tech was amazing and the Doc was personable! He broke down everything for me and get this-they followed up several times, including in a Sunday! This is definitely a place I can get into! read more

Having a pet can be very expensive. Finding a good vet can be hard. The staff has been very kind and helpful. We have used them because they offered up front prices on the many shots needed for our puppy. They were kind enough on the first shots to take the dog out of the room so we did not experience any pain. Overall no complaints. Pleaseeeee do not take your pet here. Brought my dog there end of September and he became infected with flees and loss mobility in back leg since his visit. I took him in because I felt a lump. Doctor came in the exam room felt where I thought lump was said it was fat. Patted my dog and took him to the back to cut his nails. Doctor did not spend more than 5 minutes giving an examination 100 plus visit . Later realized they did not cut all of his nails. I called back to speak to Doctor regarding his new condition and apparently the Doctor does not call people regarding their pets or the girls at front desk are told not to bother the Doctor. Yesterday his condition got progressively worse so I decided to take him up to the vet. As we were leaving he fell down the stairs half way down. Showed up at the Vet left my Pup in the car went inside clinic to see if I could speak to Doctor and the girls said they could not bother him. Also, blonde girl said they were all booked today and I would have to pay 130 for an emergency visit. They are still showing no type of compassion for my dog that just fell down about 15 stairs. I worked at a vet before and at plenty of doctor's offices and know they absolutely don't need to work with patients. If they show any compassion any other time it's because they are showing off for the doctor. So long story short after I got fueled and told them off not threatening or cursing. They threatened to call the police on me. I told them to give me my records and I would leave because I definitely was not bring my Pup back. So when I get home the Manager calls me to tell me they will no longer service my dog. Not how is he doing and how can they help him. Took my cat and dog here and did not have any issues. All Vets were professional and courteous. Ladies at the reception were great. As a matter of fact all staff was amazing. Just do not take your dog for grooming. I had my dog have a sanitary cut before with no issues. Lady did a great job! Don't remember her name, but she has her daughter ( cutie) at the place sometimes. I thought I was scheduling an appointment with her. Now the other lady DO NOT TAKE your dog. I highly recommend their groomer Jessie! I take my almost 14 year old Maine coon mix cat in quarterly for a shave and clean up. She is very detail oriented and patient with him (he is a grumpy old man for sure). He always is so happy once I get him home. I particularly like that they don't require anesthesia for a cat shave as many places do - at his age, I don't want to do that if not completely necessary. For vet services, I have taken all 3 of my cats there for about 5 years in a row - standard service and prices. Always have available appointments and great availability. read more

I basically paid $101 for my dog's rabies Shor today. They claim they do an examination for 1st time visitors. I'm not sure if my Chihuahua was examined or not because I had to wait in my cat. The assistant promptly came out to my truck with a list of over 10 different vaccines that totaled over $600 asking if I wanted any. I told her no but was interested in hearing about my dog's exam mainly his teeth. She then comes back out with a sheet listing over 10 procedures / needs for my dog's teeth. The Doctor NEVER came out to meet me or greet me. I was expecting him or her to explain what was going on with my dog's mouth not give me a price list. I felt this was very unprofessional and a HUGE RIP off especially as a 1st time customer. read more

I just got back with my greyhound. I love this vet and his staff. My dog and a cat had a scrap and they were the first vet I could get into see. You don't really see many greyhounds around and they made Mozart feel like a king. They were so nice. I think I have found my new vet. read more

But when I called All Paws, no hesitation. I got an appointment right away. I was so grateful. The staff Dr Basheer, Lena, Allie and Melanie were very kind, supportive and polite. The service we received was phenomenal. Just what me and my pet needed. Btw, this was our very first time. I started the meditation that same day , no more diarrhea or vomiting. We had an absolute amazing experience with All Paws. Dr. Ahamed and his staff are so caring. I took my 10 year old Pom because she was not feeling like herself. This was my first time ever having to take her to a doctor for anything so i was completely clueless. Dr. Ahamed took his time with me to explain so many things. We tried for a couple weeks to eliminate possibilities - not because of the Dr. But because of my financial limitations. When I called the last time he wanted to see her right away. He took xray and found out she needed emergency surgery. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to Dr. Ahamed and his team. OUR CAT DIED FROM A CONDITION THIS VET DOWNPLAYED AS MINOR. We took our beloved cat Doobie here about 3 months ago after he displayed having problems with urination. For a day or so, he growled and moaned while urinating. All Paws told us that it was a simple matter of crystals in the urine that would clear up once the cat was given more water. They also prescribed an antibiotic medication to help clear symptoms. They then advised us to buy a water fountain and assured us there was nothing to worry about. We followed this advice assiduously, trusting their word. Then, two days ago, our cat started growling while urinating once again. We thought to ourselves, "uh oh, this must be what happened before." We did not panic because we thought that if we could simply make sure he drank some water (the medicine had run its course), things would be fine. This morning we discovered him dead at the bottom of our stairs. After tearful hours of research, we learned about the deadly consequences that can accompany what is called "Feline Urinary Blockage." We had no clue about this previously, as we were reliant on the vet's word that these crystals were "nothing to worry about." If we had received even a simple hint at the severity of this condition, we would have rushed him to the hospital as soon as he began displaying repeat symptoms. Our cat could still be alive today we're it not for what I will unabashedly term veterinary malpractice! Our baby was only three years old and otherwise very healthy! Instead of being awakened by his pleas for food, treats or patio time, we awoke to the reality of having to dig a 4 foot hole to lay him to his final rest. We are heartbroken! And all the more so because this could easily have been avoided! Even if there were a zero star option, I'd still try for a negative 5 rating! I started taking my cats to this vet when one of them became diabetic. I wasn't happy with the Dr because he only wanted to make me buy everything from him. Needles (100 cnt) - $50 (online I pd $50 for 1000) Food, insulin, everything was extremely expensive. He didn't like that I took control of buying what I needed outside the office. There was another vet there that I rarely saw and she was wonderful. Down the road I had to have one of my cats put to sleep. I couldn't believe that I was told it would cost more for me to be in the room when he put her to sleep? That's when I stopped going there. read more

8/26/2017 - Received a procedure estimate for neutering and microfinder chip of my miniature husky in the amount of $600 to $632. My partner and I felt that price was very excessive and did our research and contacted other veterinary hospitals. A lot of the itemized charges on the procedure estimate were not necessary because he is under two years old. We found another vet hospital in Calvert county that only charged us $250 which included anesthesia: Inhalation, the microchip plus a complimentary nail trim and medicine. Also, I've had dogs all my life and have never had my dog taken to another room to receive shots. I've always been able to comfort my dog while he is in the care of the doctor. This is another reason why I've decided to leave All Paws Veterinary Center. read more

The only reason I selected one star is because I have to! I had been going to this vet for about a year. I have, well had 2 dogs And a cat. My pets were healthy, so they only went to the vet for annual shots/check-up! My cat scratched my older dogs eye, she WAS 8 and in EXCELLENT health, I took her to the vet to get it checked out, spent nearly $300, and within an hour my dog DIED in my arms! I called the vet and essentially asked wtf happened and they could offer no assistance! To add insult to injury they told I could bring my dog bag for cremation service and bcuz it was late evening, I took her back because I wanted my dog with me! I get to the vet and they tell if I give back the medicine they refund me! How about give me ALL of my money back for visit since no more than an hour after leaving my dog suddenly dies. There was NOTHING wrong with her except a scratch on her eye! NOTHING. They said she would be ready to pick up Wednesday, however an idiot receptionist calls me Tuesday to ask how my dog was doing? Are you serious? Then told me I could pick her up the next day once she realized my dog was dead. Long story short I picked her up a week later. I just pray and hope that the ashes on my mantle are really my beloved dog. In addition to this my other dog needed teeth pulled, they quoted $800, pretty much $200 a tooth. I went to another vet, in the same area that did it for under $200! Long story short DO NOT go to this vet! It's bad enough that due to Covid we can't go in with our pets, but it's even worse when trust someone to care for your pet and an hour later they die suddenly!! read more

We have three dogs and one cat, and after the first visit the employees there knew which name went with which of our animals. They are honest about treatment options and listen to our needs. I took my 10 1/2 week old puppy to have a her ears looked at since she had been scratching since i received her. I also wanted her to get her first checkup by a vet. My gut told me she had earmites because i experienced the same with my first dog when she was a puppy. The vet diagnosed her with having an ear infection and prescribed medication. A week later with medication she was still scratching and shaking her head. My gut told me she had earmites. I decided to take her to a different vet. She was diagnosed with earmites. I was very upset. I paid $175.00 for my dog and got a misdiagnosis when all they had to do was put the swab under a microscope. I want be back. read more

Recently I adopted a puppy. The puppy was full of some sort of worms. I found them on Sunday and was concerned, because the vet provided by the adoption agency wouldn't be open till Tuesday. I didn't want the puppy confined to the crate till then. All Paws took my puppy in to get a check up and fecal test. The vet gave us some medication for the puppy, even my dog at home in which I was concerned she might of been infected by the worms also. Veterinary services are great; however, the groomer... not very professional. I scheduled an appointment two weeks ago only to call in to see how soon I could bring my pup in for the receptionist to say your appointment was canceled. I told her I made the appointment two weeks prior and never cancelled. She put me back on the books and told me I could come on up. I arrive and another person advises that they don't see me on the schedule and after looking further it appears there was some confusion on their end with a dogs name and my name.. the dog and I shared the same name so my appointment was cancelled in error. They called the groomer and she advised she would take me. I wait 20 mins for her to arrive to show her what I wanted only to hear her speaking to the receptionist about being overbooked and she was not going to take (this one) which was me. She continued to speak to both receptionist knowing I was right there. She walked away after that... and the receptionist goes on go tell me I need to rebook. You all screwed up not me. My time is just as valuable!! No apology, nothing from anyone! Wasted day and NO I will not be coming back for grooming! read more

All Paws gets five stars for being a great vet and for saving my cat's life a couple years ago. I live near All Paws and would come here for vaccinations and routine appointments for my cats. I was always pleased with the service my pets and I received on those visits. There then came a terrible time a couple years ago when one of my cats became very sick at home. We noticed drastic weight loss and loss of appetite and promptly took our cat to All Paws who said we needed to get him to an emergency vet hospital immediately. We took him to the ER and the emergency vet ran some tests and determined that the cat was suffering from diabetes and his body was basically shutting down due to the diabetes going untreated (we had no idea he had gone diabetic until then). Most of his major organs were in very bad shape due to his body shutting down. He had stopped eating and drinking and was withering away. This cat meant the world to us and we told the emergency vet to do everything they could to save his life. After a few days, he was not getting better, and still was not eating. We spent a lot of time at the emergency vet just spending time with him and after watching how he was being cared for (or not being cared for), we were not very happy with the care he was receiving. They just did not seem too concerned about the fact that our pet was slowly dying before our eyes. After a few days, our cat was barely able to stand on his own and just looked horrible. It was absolutely heartbreaking to see him like that and the vets told us he had only a few days to live. We were not at all ready to give up on him and chose to pull him out of the emergency vet and try something else. That choice saved his life. We brought him back to All Paws and spoke to Dr. Ruth about our dire situation. Since our cat was not eating or drinking, she said the only way to try and get him basically back from the dead was to put a feeding tube in him ASAP. Dr. Ruth performed the feeding tube surgery that night and was considerate enough to care for our boy at her home overnight to make sure he was doing OK. We brought him home the next day and began the strict care regiment that Dr. Ruth prescribed. After tube feeding the poor guy with a big syringe for a few weeks (he was so good about it) and giving him various medications and insulin, he was doing so much better. When the time came for Dr. Ruth to remove the tube, he was well on the way to recovery. It has now been over two years since those horrible days and our boy is doing just great now. He gets insulin shots twice a day and is leading a happy and normal life. Without Dr. Ruth's guidance and help in this situation, our cat would have surely died under the care of the vets at the emergency hospital. I can't put into words how thankful I am for the help Dr. Ruth provided. Vets at two emergency vets and one other vets office seemed to care less that our pet was dying, but Dr. Ruth took immediate and appropriate action. The help she provided us in saving our pet's life will never be forgotten. I know we are lucky for having our situation turn out on such a positive note. Many pet owners are not so lucky, even if they are receiving the best care possible. I feel for anyone who has had to deal with the loss of a pet. It would have devastated us to have lost our wonderful cat to his medical problems. You can at least rest assured that if you bring your pet to All Paws, you will be in very capable hands and they will do whatever is necessary to help you. So, for excellent care by a highly qualified and compassionate vet, do not hesitate to take your pet to All Paws to see the wonderful Dr. Ruth. read more

My dog is a rather large dog. Last week he started limping and not wanting to come up the stairs in our home. So we made an appointment and came in yesterday. The vet felt on his leg and said "he tore a ligament". I thought it was weird that he would know this because my dog had no X-ray yet. My dog is big & very excited all the time. This can intimidate ppl because they are unsure of his excitement because of his size. This is very understandable. The vet stated that they would sedate & keep my dog overnight because he wouldn't stay still for an x-Ray, again this was understandable. They charged me 456.98 for examination, sedation, radiology, radiograph interpretation & some medicines. I payed up front. I go pick my dog up today & he was fine. They gave me the medicines and when I asked for a copy of the x-rays they sent us home because "the systems are down we can try to print that out Monday". I went home then later got a call regarding the X-rays that I asked for only to find out. NO XRAYS WERE TAKEN! In fact the only thing they did was give my dog pain meds that I was sent home with. When I asked for my money back they told me not until Monday. I told them not no I need my money today! read more

Dr. Basheer is always go gentle and great with my dog and oddly enough, my dog loves going to this vet. We drive 35 minutes just to get to All Paws when there is a vet 5 minutes away from our house but the drive is 100% worth it! read more
