We hired Brian Ganzler/Pawper Training to train our dog, in his home, to walk on a leash, obey commands and stop eating her poop.  He charged us $2,500 and offered us a money-back guarantee.  When we asked if he could put that in a contract, he said he didn't do contracts and we could consider his texts his word.  That was a red flag. After a month of having our dog in his home, Ganzler did nothing.  She still couldn't walk on a leash, obey any commands and was still eating poop.   We followed all his advice, taking away training pads and putting her in a smaller crate at night.  Nothing he recommended worked. Ganzler claimed he had no time to do leash or commands because he was busy with the poop, but that doesn't take all day and he didn't even do that. She also suffered a mysterious seizure while in his home. After the seizure we had her examined by two veterinarians.  They found nothing wrong with our dog and suspected she must have ingested something or been shocked while in Ganzler's home. Ganzler claimed our dog could not be trained because she suffered the seizure and had brain damage.  Our veterinarians confirmed there was no brain damage.  Certified dog trainers (Ganzler is not certified) said even if there was she could still be training. We asked Ganzler to refund our money as he promised in writing.  He refused to honor his written money-back guarantee. He then said he could still train her in just one more week - even though a month of training did nothing, and he had just said she couldn't be trained. We then offered to let him keep nearly $1000 and just refund the rest.  He again refused. We ended up having to sue Ganzler to get him to honor his written money-back guarantee. He then counter-sued us, claiming we cost him money by not using him for further training. At the courthouse we offered arbitration, and were willing to accept a partial refund. He again refused. The judge heard both our cases.   She quickly ruled against him, noting he offered a written money-back guarantee then refused to honor it.   She also quickly threw out his countersuit, noting he didn't have a cancellation policy and can't just make up his own policies after the fact. Do not hire Brian Ganzler or Pawper Training.   He does not train the dog as promised, refuses to honor written policies, tries to enforce policies he makes up after the fact, then unsuccessfully sues customers.

For a few days the diarrhea subsided, then I woke up this morning to find blood drops mixed with stool. I immediately started my search for a vet, as my regular vet does not do inhouse lab testing. I found Dr. Diarra office and decided to try this location. Thankfully they take walk-ins. Dr. Diarra was very professional, kind and caring. As well as his receptionist. He explained what may have caused the diarrhea, offered sound advice as he examined My Charlie. He proscribed some medications and personally explained what each one was for and how/when to administer them. I am beyond happy with the care My Charlie received.

The first visit they said he had knots(he did) so it would cost 150.00, and would be less without knots. Second visit he had no knots, but they charged me the same price and then said his coat was thick(they didn't mention this the first time they groomed him). They did a good job, so I increased my budget. The third visit I was going out of town and the owner called me a day before his appointment and said the price would be much more almost double because the groomer was not making money because his coat takes a long time to dry. I understand business, but this should have been determined the first two time the Same Groomer groomed him. Lastly, the manager said since you were told 150.00 I'll honor it this time, but he will be cut low(they gave me the length and I told them it was hard for me to determine the measurement length with his curly coat, but as long as he was not cut low and looked almost shaved and had a little fluff since he is a poodle that would be fine. I was told by the manager and the groomer he would not looked shaved and there would be a little fluff. His coat was cut low and he looked shaved. I was disappointed because I felt they were nice people, and I tipped above 15% but an injustice was done to me and my dog.

Per their notes, they administered something for nausea, then sent him home. Six hours later, the emergency hospital ;(a different facility) diagnosed him with pneumonia. Less than 24 hours after leaving Bel Air Animal Hospital, he was dead. I can't help but question how such a serious condition was missed. Owen's care fell far below the standard I expected, and I will always wonder whether recognizing his pneumonia sooner could have saved his life. If your pet is clearly getting worse and your instincts tell you something is wrong, don't hesitate to get a second opinion. I only wish we had. I love you Owen, rest easy my boy.

He was so incredibly kind and supportive as Bear went through surgery and post surgery. Within two months he was walking again (thank you VOSM - Veterinary Orthopedic Sports Medicine). As a result, because Dr Murphy practiced at Belair Veterinary Hospital, I began bringing Bear to Belair. For the first year, service was great because Dr Murphy was our vet. Then, sadly, he left and with it, good service. Since then, it has been a series of miscommunications, poor care, poor management and in the end, a veterinary hospital chain more concerned with its bottom line than good veterinary care. DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG! Please note the comment below from their manager Peter. This is the kind of unprofessional lack of accountability typical of this business at this point. I was not abusive with anyone on their staff. Sadly, asking questions that seek to explain their business practices leads to agitated incomplete answers, deflection and combativeness. Also note how many 1 and 2 star ratings Belair Veterinary Hospital receives on Yelp. YIKES! I wish I moved on sooner!
