Long overdue review, but my pup and I absolutely love Paws at Main - Riverside! The staff is incredibly kind, caring, and attentive. They always accommodate my requests and go above and beyond to make sure my pup is comfortable and happy throughout the entire process. He genuinely loves coming to the groomers because of how well they treat him and take care of him! He's always wagging his tail and so excited to see everyone when we arrive. I finally got a chance to inquire about her groomer she said Paws at Main. THIS PLACE DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The website is easy to navigate to select what services you want. I booked an appointment, called the day of .. to make sure I was going to correct location... Jose confirmed. The place is VERY CLEAN there weren't a bunch of dogs running around barking, no weird smell. There was one groomer with a dog and the dog demeanor was so chill. Jose said "I read your notes" we went over a cut chart that was best for my dog. His ears were a little matted because he hates the blow dryer so I don't force it. Jose said no problem took my baby introduced himself & said "OK we'll text you 20min before he is done"...FUR BABY came out looking soooooo handsome. I almost cried. I can't imagine taking my schnoodle anywhere else. Before finding Paws at Main I never repeated with any groomer. My Nala would come back with anxiety and shaking. We LOVE paws at main! we took our German shepherd mix here after having a horrible experience at a PetCo groomer. They are now our regular groomer and have been able to get our girl comfortable for grooming and are our groomer for all our pets. You can tell that they really care about animals and their comfort. I took my then 7 month old puppy(10 months now) Goldendoodle here for his first grooming appointment. I was extremely nervous, because my dog is scared of loud noises, especially the blow dryer. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment time, and discussed the exact cut, and length I wanted. They quoted me around an hour wait time. When it came close the hour mark I started to get scared because I had not heard anything. But they were very kind to text me updates. Picked him up after an hour and a half. He looked so cute, and smelled so good! His fur was extremely soft, and he looked even better than I could have pictured! His hair has grown in nicely. What a turn of events. We've been customers since they opened. Although we've had mixed experiences with the husband, the wife has been very kind. There are times when they wouldn't answer our texts and calls, but our dog was comfortable so that's what mattered to us. As the years went on, the groom got worse. We communicated effectively about what we want but they continued to give him an uneven cut. This last time was worse of all and he was there for over 5 hours. They didn't even finish grooming him and he didn't smell good, as if they didn't shampoo him. When we addressed these concerns and sent the photos, they refunded us and said they will no longer groom him. What a great way to do business. My dog is well behaved and we were told by everyone here that they love him. We have the right to address our concerns when we're paying couple hundred dollars. They're inconsistent and unreliable, especially for the price. Don't take your doodles here. They'll get comfortable only to get booted out. I'm writing this review because I saw a video on tiktok about my dog regarding his behavior. I found this video to be extremely unprofessional because I hadn't been told anything about him being posted and it was a relatively negative video. Generally I would assume that it's a fairly simple task to ask someone for their consent prior to posting. But what irritated me the most was the message behind the head groomer's post was to educate others that just either adopted or bought puppies". However, when we picked up our dog despite proclaiming and reassuring those commenting on her social media that she wasn't coming from a place of judgment her actions contradicted this. As someone who genuinely values groomers and respects their profession, I understand that owner's are accountable for their dog's poor behavior but it's obvious in the video that they're both frustrated as she stated in the video so, it's unfortunate that there was no communication about the difficult experience until after with an irritated tone coming from the groomer. My dog was visibly scared and uncomfortable because this experience was, like she stated, something he was not used to, so I don't understand why the grooming needed to be finished if it caused so much tension between her and my dog. We didn't schedule his appointment expecting him to behave as calmly as an experienced dog, which is why we took the initiative to add a CBD treatment to his appointment. So, it's upsetting that the environment was made unsafe for the groomer and that my dog was put in such a stressful environment at the cost of a haircut. This directly contradicts the values of this place because in another video on your instagram regarding another difficult dog, it was mentioned that in some instances it can be dangerous and you value the dog's safety enough to communicate with the owner that you do not want to continue with the cut despite the backlash you may get. But, it's disheartening to find a video on tiktok with such an encouraging and enthusiastic groomer wanting to educate others about their dogs and to not meet this same groomer from the video. It's especially dispiriting because despite our research of the breed we weren't aware of the process of desensitization. We understand that it was not easy to deal with an inexperienced puppy and we respect your patience which is why we had no issues paying the behavioral fee but, a little bit of kindness explaining an approach that could be taken to ensure a more enjoyable experience for the groomer and our dog, such as shorter and more frequent visits would have gone a long way instead of just a cold and short conversation along with a negative video about his experience. I understand it's not your job to educate an owner of their responsibilities that come with the breed they purchase but it's not fair to promote this image of yourself as if you do. read more

We let him know that our husky acts like he's being tortured during baths but that's just him being a husky and he said he had huskies before. I texted the so-called assistant last week and asked for an appointment with Natalia and he said he had availability for Saturday at 12:00 or 1:00 I always book with Natalia, so I chose 1:00 with Natalia. I brought the two dogs in to be groomed and was told that it was $190 for two small dogs a Pomeranian and a Maltipoo I could not believe that they have the audacity to charge that amount for two small dogs and it seems like they have lifted the prices too often. I told the assistant that this would be the last time that I could leave my dogs because the prices were way too HIGH I said to him I hope you don't take that personally after all it was not his place of business. he said of course not I understand with a ridiculous smile on his face. A while back he told me that he would even speak to the owner to see if there was any discounted prices for seniors etc never to get back with me on that question that needed to be answered once again very unprofessional. I was sitting at a local table and saw Natalia the groomer leaving, and I proceeded to ask her if the dogs were done she said I didn't take care of your dogs today I said I had a scheduled appointment with you today, Her reply was no you didn't she said I'm leaving, she was lying. She had a despicable look on her face that I'd never seen before and I'm only assuming it was because of the assistant who told her I was unhappy with the prices and that it was way to high that I can't even leave a tip anymore. The moment I made that comment to the assistant he completely understood at least he seemed to at the time he does seem a little two-faced. We both walked into talk to the assistant and I said wasn't Natalia supposed to groom my dogs today I even had it on my phone in a text message. She was upset Big Time I said why are you so upset why aren't you taking this as a compliment I'm complimenting you because I wanted you so bad to groom my dogs as always, even after all she dropped my dog, what is the big deal. Her comment was the groomer that's cutting your dog's hair I trust her with everything with doing her own dogs or any other dogs and with her life ECT ECT she had the most horrible look on her that I couldn't even believe my eyes. After all a few times prior she dropped my dog on the ground and she hurt his legs in the hind very badly the only thing I appreciated was that she told me when I walked in she said I dropped your dog but I forgave it I moved on. And after the injury to my dog's legs you would think the owner would have taken off the price at least a little portion of it when they groomed my dog that day I mean after all they dropped my dog that's how I would have handled it professionally, I would have not even charged the client for the grooming for that day and they didn't even have the decency to do that and at that very moment I didn't want to come back ever again but because of Natalia I did I was never really treated nicely in this particular business but today they kicked me out and left me with two unfinished dogs because I wanted Natalia as my groomer he said I was rude I hate to say he was rude I'm sorry to say. because I requested Natalia and the other groomer heard me poor little girl where she couldn't even hear me and if she did why would she be insulted we all have the right to choose what we want who we want religion and otherwise but I was ridiculed by this assistant because I wanted Natalia as it was stated on the text I've never seen anybody so rude as he in fact he was very crude, rude, and immature. Oh and wears socks, and sandals, in a work place unprofessional and could easily cause another accident. He said well this is the second incident when you came in earlier you were complaining about the price and I said yes the reason I'm complaining is because it's a ridiculous price for two small dogs $190 for a Pomeranian and a maltipoo. BEWARE. And again to make you understand that this company lied to me as I said earlier The same groomer dropped my dog on his legs he will probably never be the same. I noticed that his walking was very bad about a week later it slowly started getting worse I asked the owner if I could take it to the animal hospital he said I waited too long and that I couldn't prove when the injury was established. And as they get older that's when the real troubles with arthritis will be noticed. what happened here as I'm sure a lot of you understand. In fact there's been two incidences where my little dog's legs have hurt him for absolutely no reason so as you can see the The continuous Care of this. It will get worse as he gets older and I do want to tell you that the owner stated that people even drop their babies. That is absolutely what he said.
