I love Critter Cutters. So many grooming businesses are sketchy. You cannot see the dogs or how they are being groomed or even treated. The most tell-tale sign that the groomer is no good is if your dog is afraid or doesn't want to go inside. At critter Cutters, you can see everything. The dogs are in big cages with plenty of room. And everything else is completely open and the customer can see exactly how the whole production is done. The owners and the help are very good with animals and it is always clean and well kept. My dogs loves to go to Critter Cutters, where the customers are treated like family and the dogs are respected and treated with care. I highly recommend this Groomer. I had a lot of trouble with my little poodle at other groomers. I have tried mobile and Petco. So Erica's was my last resort. They did such an amazing job. I was so worried when I dropped him off. I took my cat to This place on May 25th when I picked her up 6 HOURS LATER. Her eye was completely mess up, her pupil on her right eye was not dilating . The male owner seemed to not be worried and basically brushed it under the rug like nothing was obviously wrong .I Took her to the vet the next day and they said this happens due to trama but the owner of the groomers said " she was well behaved " ... nothing added up . Vet said give it two weeks ... so now it's that time and her eye is still not the same and I don't have any answers on how or why! I've taken her to other groomers and this has never happened. Another thing I am battling with after taking her here is FLEAS !!! My cats are all inside and very very clean . Never have I had a flea problem until I took her here . I have taken my dog to Critter Cutters a few times already. I took her there on the recommendation of my neighbor. When I took my dog I let them know she is a little afraid when it comes to loud noises. They said they would take care of her and be gentle with her. So the first couple times Ruby looked great, but yesterday was a different story. My husband took her to get groomed and when he picked her up they told him that she was being difficult (she's a chihuahua/terrier mix and does not bite or bark) so she was probably scared and a little squirmy. Because "she was difficult", they cut her while they were shaving her. It's not just a little nick but a cut. I did not get home from work till late in the evening when my husband told me what happened and I saw her cut. I was so upset. Upset with Critter Cutters for hurting my girl and upset with myself that I trusted them to care for my dog and they hurt her. Best experience ever!! My 2 year old German shepherd yellow lab mix has never had a haircut. I explained to them that I was worried he would get anxious and bark and they were awesome about assuring me that he would be fine. I came to pick him up and they told me he did amazing. His haircut is awesome, I had him shaved to take care of some matts and because my yard has tons of plants that get stuck in his fur. If you care about your dogs please read this review. This is important. I have been taking my dogs here for almost a year now. In terms of grooming they do a good job. My dogs always look great. The pricing is very reasonable as well. HOWEVER, I picked my dogs from their appointment last week and attempted to pet them and they cowered. It took multiple attempts for them to finally relax and understand I was merely trying to pet them. This is not right. My dogs have never had this type of reaction after a grooming session and I have taken them to many different groomers. WHAT IS GOING ON AT THIS SHOP THAT WE DONT KNOW ABOUT? I understand some apprehension or uncertainty after being picked up but to cower and squint their eyes when my hand gets close to their face?? You guys are dog owners you KNOW that is not a normal reaction from a healthy 9year old who has been groomed at least 90+ times in his life. Mind you it happened with my 8year old dog as well. Be cautious of where you take your pet. They are innocent creatures who depend on us to care and do what is right for them. They can't tell you what happened when you weren't around but I can tell you my experience. So again, be cautious and don't ignore any signs your pet is giving you. When calling this business they quoted me one price over the phone after the dogs were cut it was a different price. The dog's hair cuts were very very short almost to the skin and I felt that was the easy way out. But being that it was summer I was okay with it. When I got home I realized that the dogs were filthy especially around the collar of my Pomeranian. I then had to bathe them again. I called to reschedule a new appointment with this company and told my concerns to the employee and he was very offended. He then encouraged me to go to another business. I told him I was overall pretty happy or I would not have called him. He begrudgingly schedule an appointment for me. I had to have surgery and I missed my appointment calling him that following Monday I left a message to call me to reschedule. This employee never returned my call. If you cannot make constructive criticisms to a place of business and explain to them what your needs are then it truly is not a relationship to begin with. And truly in my observation of this practice every dog and cat was shaved to the skin and I just find that unbelievable and the easy way out every single one of them. And I've never seen this before. Make sure that you get the proper price before your animals are groomed and make sure you tell him how you want your animals cut not how he wants to cut it. Very disappointed that this business could not take constructive criticism and that's what it's all about when you own a business. Today was my first time at Critter Cutters. I called them randomly seeing that they had 5 stars but I didn't bother reading reviews. First off my dog decided to hide from me after my grand daughter went out and put her collar on.. She must have known something was up. I checked every in my 1/2 acre yard twice and couldn't find her anywhere.. I called to let them know I was having trouble finding her so I was late and they were very nice and told me as long as I could get there within the hour it would be OK to bring her.. When I walked in the door I was blown away by the organization and the cleanliness!! All of the dogs waiting for grooming or to be picked up were kenneled up facing the front door. I assume it was Erica who came up and asked me questions as she filled out an info card on my dog. She was so sweet and SO professional. I normally take my dog to my Vet for grooming and just haven't been thrilled with the job they've been doing. I've only been inside one other animal grooming shop in Riverside so I guess I don't have a whole lot to go on but comparing the two I've seen was like the difference between a 2 star and a 5 star hotel. Today was our first time at Erica's Critter Cutters and I am positive it will not be our last! We have two medium sized dogs, both short hair so all they need is a good bath and brush out. However we were really nervous taking them in because they hadn't been to a groomer in over two years. Since then one of ours dogs was attacked and is now very anxious around other dogs. When I called to make an appointment they were very understanding. She listened to all of my concerns and still seemed very positive! My mom dropped them off and she said that (I'm assuming) Erica was very nice and went through everything we wanted and all the concerns again.
