Having waited all day (06/12/18) for the owner and/or office staff of PAWGO to call me with an apology; and having received no such call, I will go ahead with my posting.
I am sorry that I have to be the thorn amongst a rose bouquet regards PAWGO. And indeed, my experience may be the "one off" example. My concern is the seeming attitude of the owner and lack of respect for some customers. Not one word of my complaint has to do with the groomers who work very hard with all sorts of customers to provide a well groomed and happy animal and satisfied pet owner. And very often these groomers must perform these services in poorly equipped vans.
I scheduled an appointment a couple weeks ago,with------- (in the office) to have PAWGO, a "mobile" grooming service groom my dog. I specifically requested ----- because of the reviews on line.
I scheduled my business appointments for the day around a three hour window for PAWGO. The day before the scheduled appointment I received a text message from PAWGO wanting me to confirm the appointment for the next day. I confirmed and called them to discuss some issues covered during the initial scheduling call.
------ was not able to answer the questions, but told me that she would have ----- call me that afternoon. At 8PM, ----- had still not called. I sent a text to----- asking when when ------- was going to call. She never did.
The next day ------ called saying ----- never told her about needing to call me until late the night before (after she received my text). ---- asked me "what was going on?" Seems -----not only forgot to tell ----- to call me, but told her nothing about why she needed to call me.
Well, "what was going on" was quite simple.------ told me that the van ---- uses for "mobile grooming" has no self contained power (generator) on board. Thus the van that ------- uses as well as several other vans that PAWGO operates must receive power from the home of the customer. In other words, PAWGO management fully expected me to allow the PAWGO van to pull into my driveway and plug into my home power to run the air conditioner, the hair dryer, the clippers, the fans etc.....in the van. I assure the reader that running those items, especially the air conditioner and blower/dryers consumes an enormous amount of power.
Let me recap.......the PAWGO business model is to save PAWGO overhead by not equipping all their vans with power. Some yes, but not all. Thus, they will require some customers on arrival to use their residential home power. Seems like a fairly innocuous request until one considers that allowing PAWGO to use your home power during the middle of the summer while your house is using full cooling power at the same will elevate your APS demand usage numbers off the map and propel your next utility bill to heights you may have never seen before or cause an upward adjustment if you are on the equal pay budget plan. APS spends thousands of dollars urging customers to conserve power and not use power hungry appliances in the home at the same time. In fact, their time advantage plan actually penalizes homeowners who operate multiple energy hogging devices at one time. And now PAWGO wants you and I to allow them to do exactly what should not be done.
I refused.
-------, unfortunately was caught in a difficult spot as my rejection of this misrepresentation of a "mobile grooming" service was not the first time she had heard the complaint.
PAWGO expected me to pay them about $80.00 +/- for a full service call, plus a $20.00 tip +/- and allow them to use my power to cool their van and operate their equipment. They did not care that I would pay an increased cost per KW hour the rest of the billing period only to accommodate their cost saving business practices
I asked ------- to pass along my dissatisfaction to both ------ and to the owner of PAWGO. And for her to tell, them that I expected a call from one or both with an apology as my professional calendar for the day was completely ruined.............I did not receive a call from either.
PAWGO (in my experience) is not a "mobile" service unless I provided the power. A simple question for management........Why are your charges the same for a customer who has a groomer with a powered van the same as the customer who has to pay an additional penalty fee to APS so their groomers can use the customers APS service for power????
I would suggest ownership respond to this posting with an explanation of past practices, justification for the use of the homeowner's power source as well as an assurance of abolishment of the practice going forward. For customers, I would suggest you request a groomer who is truly mobile with a generator equipped grooming van unless you have no concern for elevated power bills. In full disclosure, ----- offered me the chance to reschedule with another groomer with a powered van. I declined as I had already wasted enough time with PAWGO. There are other groomers. read more
