We had an incredible first time experience at Float8. Our friend recommended us to try floating,…read morewhich was a novel concept we decided to explore. The facility has different size floating pools (futuristic pods or wider cabins with standing room). The water contains high levels of epsom salt, which is soothing for the skin and allows you to float with ease. There is a spray bottle of fresh water and wash towel in case you get salt in your eyes. They have vaseline for any open cuts/wounds on the skin. The ear plugs and vinegar squeeze bottle were very helpful, too. The entire process was meditative. First you take a shower with aromatherapy products, then float for an hour in the cabin of your choice, then shower again, and finally enjoy a cup of hot tea while journaling/coloring/relaxing. We tried floating with sensory deprivation (no light or sound)...such a raw feeling floating in the abyss. It was a foreign, but familiar feeling akin to a fetus engulfed by amniotic fluid inside a mother's womb. You're able to fully relax and only hear the thumping sound of your own heart beat. There are also light and sound buttons inside the pod if you prefer that. We loved the entire experience and highly recommend everyone to give it a try! The employees are so kind and down-to-earth, facility is clean and peaceful, and they have deals/specials for booking multiple sessions.

I literally felt like a brand new human being after floating I was extremely relaxed and my body felt super at ease it was extremely therapeutic 10/10 experience and I would highly recommend anyone to come here and experience floating. Also if the pod is still not your kind of thing they also have a open cabin that doesn't close that you can float in and after you complete your floating sessions they also have a wellness lounge where you can reset and relax and have tea and get into the groove before stepping out into the world.

You walk into a super calm and serene waiting room where you're able to relax before going into your tank. They give you the rundown of what will happen, and explain/answer any questions you may have. You can float in either a bathing suit or without clothes completely, however they recommend nothing as it will make your experience that much better. Each room comes with its own shower, where you rinse of before and after your float. The hour float was so relaxing. It was a little hard to get used to the fact that you are completely weightless in this huge tank of Epsom salt, but once you do, it's great! I think I even fell asleep at one point! LOL Highly recommend giving this experience a try, because I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Great for pregnant women as well, as it can alleviate some weight/pain for a short time. Definitely check it out!

What an interesting experience! This was my first float,…read moreeven though I was expecting a sensory deprivation tank, the float tub was nice! The staff were extremely friendly to my mom and I. They did a wonderful job explaining how this worked and making us comfortable. The private room was nice. I rinsed off (recommend) before floating and it was just me and myself and I for an hour of solitary thought. It's salt water, so it getting in my eyes was awful, but the give you a squeeze bottle of clean water to rinse. After the float, I had a lovely shower and went on my way. I highly recommend this spa and experience!

We enjoyed the private room for the infrared sauna and cold plunge, although very small...barely enough room for us both to dress and undress. My only complaint is that the sauna although it read 146 degrees was barely hot enough to draw a sweat from either myself or my husband. We have one at home that goes up to 120 degrees, and we are both sweating after 15 mins, so it is not accurate. I'd be interested in trying other services. They offer decent membership/point packages that can be shared and don't expire!j

I feel so happy in that context. Well here was my chance! Located in the relatively new Alton Town Center in P.B. Gardens, True Rest is quite inviting once you walk inside. You're led to a room with recliners (including ottomans) to watch a video on floating, including the potential benefits and how to position yourself in the tank. Then it's off to your room where the magic happens! A quick shower to make sure you rinse off any lotion or deodorant and insertion of the free earplugs (not great -- I'd bring my own next time) and you're ready to get in. Meditation-type music is played for 10 minutes at the start, but then shuts off. You can choose total darkness or colored lights (as you'll see in my photo). I went with darkness, and it was really cool. I came close to sleep and felt totally calm and relaxed -- after the first 10-15 minutes when I forced myself to stop thinking about errands or my ex boyfriend, neither of which was worth ruining my float time. I could have sworn my body from the torso up was lying on a firm surface. I guess that's what a ton of Epsom salts does for you. When there's five minutes left the music begins again to let you know. Then out of the tank to a hot shower and shampoo if you wish (there's a hairdryer in the bathroom if you want it). All in all it was lovely. My friend highly enjoyed his experience also and told me the next morning how well he slept and relaxed he felt. The spa sells packages that include use of the flavored oxygen after the float. You can sit in a room on a sofa and drink a complimentary water bottle and inhale ginger, spearmint, or lavender oxygen. Great experience!!!

If you're going, the waterfall hot tub is an absolute must--it's both relaxing and invigorating. The Swedish hose massage is another highlight and something I highly recommend trying. The facility offers a great variety of steam rooms and saunas, allowing you to experience different temperatures and styles of heat therapy. They also provide cold-water buckets that you can dump over yourself between sessions, which adds to the authentic bathhouse experience and leaves you feeling completely refreshed. If you're looking for a genuine, traditional bathhouse experience in Miami, this is the place to go. Clean, unique, and consistently enjoyable, it's one of our favorite places to relax and recharge.

We gave Russian & Turkish Baths a solid four stars, and that rating came after a lot of back and…read moreforth because this place is honestly confusing in the best and worst ways. On one hand, for a $65 spa entrance, there are things that absolutely should not be broken, missing, or questionable. On the other hand, this place has some of the most intense and impressive amenities I have ever experienced in my life, and I say that as someone who is from LA and considers themselves a full blown Korean spa veteran. Like, I do not say that lightly. The offerings here are next level. First, the value conversation. Sixty five dollars is steep, and with that price tag you expect things to feel polished and borderline luxurious. This is not that. The space does not feel luxurious. It feels dark in places, a little maze like, and sometimes you are walking through rooms to get to other rooms wondering if you accidentally entered a staff area. Some things were not working, some things felt under explained, and the towels were honestly not great. They felt thin, almost secondhand, and the color was not even cute. Bring your own towel if you can. I also brought my own sandals and shorts and was way more comfortable that way. Now here is where the four stars come in. The amenities. My god. Touch every door. Carefully. I cannot stress that enough. Some of these rooms are so hot that people were audibly yelping, like loud oh shit reactions echoing through the space. They seriously need more visible and louder safety warnings because third degree burns do not sound like a fun souvenir. That said, the extremes are kind of the whole point. The cold plunge was the coldest thing I have ever experienced in my life. I cannot last long in any of these rooms because they are truly extreme, but that is what you are paying for. If you do not do this kind of thing regularly, it is absolutely worth trying at least once. One of the most underrated features is this insanely powerful water hose situation that is basically like putting out a house fire. I am not exaggerating. You can stand against the wall and let it blast your back, or have someone spray you. Yes, even a stranger. It is incredible and wildly underused. Right next to it is a rain style water feature that you should absolutely use without guilt. A lot of water gets used here, and honestly it makes sense why the price is high because the water usage alone must be insane. We specifically came during the men only hours on Thursday from 8 to 12, and that made a huge difference in comfort. I was way more relaxed knowing it was single sex, and once noon hit and it became coed, that comfort level definitely shifted. There is no big statement behind that, it is just personal preference. One thing that did bother me is that people are allowed to have their phones. I can easily see how when it gets busy, this turns into people taking pictures left and right, which is annoying when you are there to actually relax and not be in someone's background content. The staff deserves real praise. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming and honestly made the experience better. Even while you are in the baths, they are checking in, asking if everything is okay, and making sure people are safe. That kind of attentiveness matters and it did not go unnoticed. A few more honest notes. There is a smell. It is not overpowering, but it is there, and it feels chronic. That needs to be addressed. The jacuzzi could also be hotter. I kept wishing it was just a bit more intense, especially after coming out of the hotter rooms. Also, there were not enough soap stations. Soap was available in the main entrance restrooms, but not everywhere else where you really want it. Parking is another thing to plan for. Google Maps will take you to an entrance where valet parking is basically the only obvious option and it is $40. If you do not want to pay that, park near the fire station about five minutes away. It is around five dollars for four hours, which is reasonable, but you will need to walk. Once you arrive, you go into the building, turn right sharply, head down the stairs, and look for the Turkish bathhouse signage. It is not hard once you know, but I really wish I had known ahead of time. One very cool perk that I wish was advertised more clearly is that your admission is essentially good for the whole day. Most people stay three to four hours, but you can come in and out, which actually makes the price feel more reasonable if you turn it into a full relaxation day. Would I come back tomorrow? No. Would I come back next month? Probably not. Would I consider it once a year? Yes. Absolutely. When I left, I genuinely felt like a different person. My body felt reset, worked, and relaxed in a way that regular spas do not achieve. It is not perfect, it needs work, and it is overpriced for the lack of polish, but the experience itself is unforgettable. Four stars, with notes.
