The spa at the Lowe's Coral Gables has a great Miami spa month where you can get a massage and facial for around $200. We arrived early to take advantage of the hotel amenities. As we arrived, we were greeted promptly by the concierge. He took us up to the pool and set up our towels, so we could be comfortable. The one thing I can say throughout the day is that the service at this hotel was top-notch. People remembered your name. Remember details were very friendly. I never had to wait any amount of time to get something I needed from staff. After spending a day at the hotel, we went down for our services. We started off with a lavender foot bath, which was a great way to start a massage. This spa doesn't have saunas and other amenities within the spa. But the overall general vibe of the place was a great time and I would definitely come back.

There are a lot of options for the type of prices they are asking for here, you may want to consider what experience you want from a spa before coning here.

A nice woman brought me to the locker room and showed me where everything was. The relaxation room where I waited for my service was calm and well-appointed with fruit infused water and some small snacks. Abel performed my 80 min relaxation massage and it was perfect! Relaxing would be an understatement. He used the perfect amount of pressure and made sure to check in on me periodically to ensure I was comfortable. My body felt so nice and light afterwards! I exercise daily, so my muscles were very tight and needed the attention. Hubby got the mens sugarcane scrub pedicure. It was his first ever pedicure and he was in heaven. I asked for firm pressure and to focus on my upper back and neck on my intake form and that's exactly what he did which I appreciated a lot because I've been to many spas where the massage therapist seems to not even read the intake form! After my massage Abel gave me a paper with a few product recommendations to promote relaxation, which was very nice! My advice is to ask for Abel and get the 80 minute massage as 50 goes by in the blink of an eye! While visiting the spa you also have access to the locker rooms with showers, bathrooms, beauty bar complete with hair dryers, shampoo, etc, a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. The attendant in the women's locker area, Gigi, was super kind and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, she was great! Besides the incredible staff, the ambience of the spa is nice but pretty underwhelming. My mom and I both noticed that the jacuzzi located inside the women's facility had very uncomfortable seating. For example, some jacuzzis are fully tiled on the inside so you can sit on the stairs or the seating but all is tile and flat. The jacuzzi at the spa had a prickly plaster-like interior on the seating, steps, and bottom of the hot tub that was very uncomfortable to sit on so I didn't spend long in here. The outside jacuzzi by the adult pool is much better. While the overall ambiance and decor was nice, like I said I felt underwhelmed. The service was incredible but I wish they'd do more with the space!

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted so warmly by the host and offered your choice of water, matcha, or a latte (such a nice touch). I went with a friend, and we loved that we could enjoy the experience together in the same room. The setup was super cozy and the beds were incredibly comfortable, and we definitely said yes to the heated option. The fluffy blanket on top made it even more relaxing. The service itself was heavenly. It started with a mini facial that felt so refreshing, followed by the scalp treatment and wow, you can really feel it working! The minty, exfoliating sensation was amazing, leaving my scalp so fresh and clean. The mini massage at the end was the perfect finishing touch. Of course, I couldn't leave without a blowout, and my hair has honestly never felt cleaner or looked shinier. Lava Head Spa exceeded every expectation from the vibe, the service, and the comfort were all 10/10. Highly recommend if you're looking to treat yourself to some serious self-care!

The Lava Headspa is located in a beautiful room, hidden inside a beauty suite full of other beauty industry related businesses. The vibe is really spa-like, with the dim lighting, cozy aesthetic and low playing instrumental music. Given how nice it was I found it hard to fully relax because the walls of the Lava Headspa suite are paper thin and I could hear women and children walking, running and talking loudly as they passed the room, literally the whole time I was there. The woman providing the service for me was very nice, but I could tell she was in a bit of a rush, as if I was her last client of the day and she was eager to go home. She used this tool equipped with a camera to show me a live image of my scalp before and after the headspa treatment, which was interesting. I enjoyed when she was massaging my scalp and washing my hair. Tor the most part it is a lot like the Japanese head spa treatments you see trending online. However, there was one part I really did not enjoy. At one point in the service, she used a tool that felt like she was using a Brillo pad or one of those aluminum bristle brushes to scrub my scalp. It was so rough and not relaxing or soothing at all. I let her know at the end of the experience, but it was obviously too late for her to remedy that part for me by then. Also at the very end, the blow dry she provided, left my hair frizzy. I'm not sure what the training is like for this service, but the product left much to be desired, which honestly isn't a huge deal but figured I'd provide the feedback since it was part of my experience. All in all, for the price I paid I feel it would have been a much more pleasant and relaxing experience without that one abrasive tool that was used on my scalp and the noise distractions from just outside the door. I could've walked out of Lava Headspa with my frizzy little blow out, happy and blissful had it not been for these two unpleasant details.

My shoulder is sore due to excessive pressure and I was not happy with the way things were handled - the entire time the masseuse kept making so much noise getting oil, towels, and whatever else she needed. The music was super random, one relaxing song followed by a lively Spanish guitar song, then relaxing again... it's not my job to tell her to stop making noise, or to play DJ. These things should be obvious. The experience is on the details. I absolutely think the massage is overpriced for what is offered, and like someone else said here, $40 for a tip was not ideal for what was offered. The steaming room was great, and I had an amazing salad at the restaurant. The staff at the restaurant was way more authentic than at the spa. Overall, not a great experience and I'm not returning - should have gone to one of the several spas in Miami I trust and know they do a good job. :/

Then to get to the treatment area you have to walk back across the outside area and the front lobby through the area with guests and all their luggage to the elevator in your robe. This is not a great experience and you must repeat this step after your treatment. The relaxing area is nice and I was excited to find my favorite tea. They only had one China tea cup and the only other option was paper cups for the 5 people in that area. I got the tea cup for myself. I poured the water and the tea pot has cold water in it. I had to start over. The tea kettle was the cheapest Breville tea kettle with not temperature settings. The water got boiling hot but the tea is herbal, green mint or chamomile which doesn't get boiling water. Anyway it was too hot for the tea. My massage therapist was a bit late as they are the ones cleaning the area on the first floor but he apologized and said I still got my full massage time. I didn't mind that. The parking lot next door is under major construction and despite it being Sunday the noise was not massage friendly and I guess the massage rooms had no soundproofing.
