Came here for brunch after a long hike and we were starving! We found street parking pretty easily and walked over to the restaurant. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice. When we walked in, there was a long line at the counter, but we decided to sit down and noticed QR codes on the table for ordering. Once you order through the app, they bring the food right to your table, which was super convenient. I ordered the Brio Brio and it was delicious! The fried rice usually comes with bacon, but they were happy to make it without, and it was still so flavorful. The service was a little slow, and we had to ask a few times for hot sauce before it came out, but overall the food was good. I'll definitely be back!

Really good food and awesome beer choices. It's a walk up counter ... which is good if there are tables available once you order. If it's too busy, scoring a table can be tricky. Worth it!

Paulista Brazillan Kitchen & Taproom is a nice place with just chill and relax with food options for small to large appetites. In addition, they have coffee drinks and acai bowls. The Taproom is a nice feature. The ambience is of the restaurant is quiet and has a lot of windows so it does have natural sunlight coming in. They offer inside and outside seating. A separate men and women restrooms. Carne Empanada: beef, tomatoes, bell peppers, olives, eggs (3/5). Flakey pastry. The filling was ok, I wish it had more flavor. I'd get it again but maybe try some other flavors. Pompeia: 6oz grass fed burger, gouda cheese, cilantro mayonnaise, spring mix, and onion ring on a brioche bun. Served with fries or a salad (3.5/5). Decent burger. The fries weren't as hot as I'd like but similar to the place with the golden arches. Just not as flavorful. Floripa: fried breaded chicken breast with Brazillian style coleslaw on a brioche bun. Served with fries or a salad (3.5/5). Latte - with almond milk. It was decent. The service was nice and friendly. You can order with the cashier or via the QR code at the table. I'd come back. Support your local business.

Near neighborhood brazilian place. Great for brunch , lunch & snack. Wide selection of healthy & good food. Some empanadas & acai bowls too.

This is a lovely, airy and bright taproom with some good snacks! There's a lot of room indoors and some seating outside, but service is quick and there's a lot of beers to choose from. The reasoning behind 4/5 stars is because it was a great place to chill and catch up with someone, but I wouldn't rave about the food. It was good, but not worth hyping up. If I were to come back here, I'd probably just get some brews and maybe a chicken empanada at most.

The Paulista de Frango Sandwich & side of Brazilian style potatoes

My girlfriend and I showed up around 9:30 AM on a Monday morning. Upon entering, we were pretty amazed about how large and bright the space is. There is plenty of seating, both high stool and regular chairs, complimented by the surrounding large windows. It kind of felt like a big cafe--order your food and drinks at the counter before getting a number and grabbing a seat. We were one of many who came in for a small bite and drink while getting some morning work done on our devices. We decided to have a light breakfast, sharing a Carne empanada and The Paulista de Frango Sandwich. Unfortunately, the empanada was a bit of a let down while the sandwich also didn't prove significant. The empanada was lukewarm/cold as it was served to us straight from the display cases. The meat was a bit dry and lacking in flavor. As for the sandwich, it was pretty basic to say the least as it relied heavily on the flavors of the lightly seasoned components rather than using some sort of sauce to improve flavor and dryness. HOWEVER, the star of the show that truly blew me away was the Brazilian style potatoes that comes as a side. The potatoes were incredibly crispy on the outside while maintaining a perfect fluffy interior. They absolutely nailed the texture! The potatoes were also well seasoned with a refreshing green sauce that created a perfect coating to complement the potatoes without overpowering or drenching it. The Brazilian style potatoes was easily the best thing. The customer service was also great. The nice receptionist took our orders and brought us our food with a kind smile. She noticed my partner admiring and reminiscing while looking at the coloring art on the back of the children's menu before offering her some crayons. We were very pleased with each interaction. Overall, I'd definitely return to try new things and enjoy the lovely space. I hope to return outside of the breakfast hour to try some of their other specialities. They also have a bunch of beers on tap and event fliers (trivia night?) implying a good night time space. I believe it's worth checking out!

My wife and I stopped by Paulista Brazilian Kitchen and Taproom on a Monday to participate in their trivia at 6:00 p.m. When we arrived at 5:45 p.m., there was not a ton of seating available so if you're coming with a large group, it would be a good idea to come even earlier to stake a table. Drinks and food can either be ordered via the QR code on the table or at the bar. I love the wide selection of cans and bottles in the fridge adjacent to the bar. Keep in mind that in order to consume the purchased beer on-site, there's a small surcharge that varies depending on the size of the beer. For food, I had a chance to try out the cheese bread, a spinach empanada and the grilled chicken sandwich. I really enjoyed how much filling was present in the spinach empanada and how crunchy the crimped edges were. The cheese bread were great as well, but they must be enjoyed warm or else they quickly become hardened. The grilled chicken sandwich was the item I enjoyed the least that evening, as the chicken breast was quite dry. Overall, I really enjoy the vibe at Paulista and the wide beer selection. I would definitely stop by again for the trivia and the small bites.

This restaurant has a lot of variety and the food was okay at best. I think the food just need more pop of flavor.

I've never had Brazilian food before. Didn't know what to order so I chose a burger. The lady said it was one of their popular dish. The burger had a good home made savory taste served in a perfect brioche. We also had the Carne na tijela, Minas na tijela and Frango com pesto sandwich. All were splendid. Next time I'm trying their empanadas. Looking forward to finding other great places to eat in Oakland.

Paulista is a great spot for anyone have a good time with company or solely for work on their own. I've been here a few times over the years and a while. I can't say that their menu ever impressed me, I did appreciate the very social and lively environment that the place provides its patrons. They've had excellent servers in the past, but I know that the majority of the ones that I experienced have since left. The prices are a bit high, but you get what you pay for. 3/5.

Stopped by Paulista for a quick breakfast treat with friends recently and it was a pretty good experience. The cafe is spacious and has plenty of seating and a welcoming ambiance. I liked how the menu had several options to choose from. I had a few of the Pao de Quejio and it was tasty, although I wish it was warmer (temperature wise). I also had a small, açaí bowl, which was refreshing and quite filling. Although, the 'small' size was $10, they did not skimp on the toppings. The pricing for many items seemed higher than expected, but customer service was efficient and friendly. Overall, a pretty good spot for a quick snack/coffee. I'd possibly consider returning to try other items on their menu.

Did I say BRUNCH! Yes! A group of us had brunch there last Sunday. It was the best and most unique brunch I have ever had. Apparently, it is a new brunch menu that is served every day. It did not disappoint. We are big "brunchers" and it delivered 100% I had the Brio Brio! It was packed with flavor. The Brazilian spiced beef patty on top of Brazilian style fried rice, and an egg omelette.!!! The taste was "clean" cooking. I could taste the quality. Oh, and the sauce. I don't know what it was, but it was delicious. Of course I got tastes from my friends plates around me. The fried chicken and waffle was amazing! The chicken was so tender and not greasy at all! The waffle was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle and the syrup was kissed with a weee bit of tang or spice? Maybe both. My friend to my left had French toast, one of my favorite things at home. I could never make it like this. The Fruit and the Topping was out of this world. I had a guava mimosa that was great! The service was good and the servers were extremely nice. There is nothing I have bad to say only that I will now be eating out most Sundays! Thank you Paulista, see you soon.

Delicious spot, the bowl I got was so good it definitely was worth the price I was able to save half and eat the rest for later which was perfect! You can even share the bowl honestly, the beignet was delicious! Would recommend this place 100% the ambiance was bright and roomy! And the service was fast and great!

We were lucky in that Bocanova was LITERALLY a stone's throw away from our school's campus, so after the tour, all of us made our way to the restaurant by foot. Before I get to the food and all the goodies, I just wanted to also give a HUGE shoutout to Martin - the restaurant's owner and Managing Partner. From Day 1, he was so helpful in helping me plan this event - from sending me photos of the space to full on menus and recommendations of various food items according to our budget. He also went above and beyond to bring in some non-alcoholic ciders for us (as kids were in attendance). Thank you again Martin for your marvelous assistance in helping this event go smoothly! So now, on to the food ~ I think I can speak for everyone there: the food was fantastic. I honestly wish I got to take pictures of the food - they were impeccably arranged and you can tell that everything was prepared with care and love from the chef. My classmates also loved their drinks! We had ordered an array of tacos, sliders, quesadillas, poblano cornbread, patatas, gac/ships, french fries -- essentially lots of kid-friendly foods, but the ADULTS loved the foods too. These dishes were definitely elevated takes, so whatever you do, don't sleep on them! And the corn bread is a must-try! On a different note, this is an absolutely beautiful restaurant. Our event was hosted in the Atrium, glass windows throughout. In any case, I'm definitely planning to return at some point for a sit-down meal where I'm not running around being hostess! Thanks again Martin and your team for a great time. Looking forward to seeing you next.

It is quintessential fine dining where each of their 8 courses are exquisitely prepared in front of you (there's a LARGE open kitchen which takes up most of the restaurant) and served to you over 2.5 hours. The flavors are AMAZING and so unique...Top 3 Standouts were the Duck with grilled ramps and papaya (seriously best duck I've ever had), the Kanpachi Crudo with habanero (I was scared of this but they totally tamped down the heat with carrots and pineapple and added sunflower seeds for crunch), and the flan which was impossibly THIK and smooth (best flan I've ever had hands down). Also really enjoyed the made-in-house guava sorbet and pavlova (which tasted like crispy honeycomb). Super relaxed atmosphere with friendly, unpretentious service. The only down side was that it WAS fine dining so each dish is extremely small and it does take a long time between courses. I had just worked out and I tend to eat very little before 5 pm, work out arduously and then backload my calories but this was a horrible idea as I ended up STARVING and feeling light-headed...Good thing my wife is always prepared and brings snack packs in her purse HAHA! I really liked the first several courses as they were really fun, creative and beautifully presented. When we got to the proteins, it was honestly quite underwhelming for me. It was almost disappointing. The first protein was a local seabass with a cashew (or walnut?) sauce but the sauce was so incredibly salty that it had a bit of a bite to it so needless to say, got rid of the sauce to eat the fish. Fish was also a bit dry. The next was lamb 2 ways. It was fine but also just a piece of grilled steak on the plate and a merguez sausage stuffed pepper. The stuffed pepper was fun but neither of the these 2 things were mind blowingly good or creative. The lamb plate looked so boring that any home cook can do it. Overall, proteins were a miss for me. My friend got the cheese plate, it was fine but I don't think it's worth the extra add on. It wasn't anything super special. Then the dessert which is usually my favorite part of the meal. First was a roasted strawberry and a milk ice cream dish that was delightful and beautifully presented. The second was a small bite with compressed melon and a financier. The financier was even saltier than that fish. Definitely used salt instead of sugar. Not sure how that was missed but it was probably the most disgusting "dessert" I've eaten at a restaurant. Thus, the 3 stars because it was truly disappointing that the meal ended on a salty note...literally. Service was fine. Wasn't the most outstanding, it feels like some of the staff members didn't know the menu super well and certainly didn't seem confident in telling us what we were eating and drinking. The drinks were really tasty though, got to try a large variety of things I probably wouldn't try on my own. Really wanted to love this place as the dinner started off strong but didn't end well. With the drink pairing on a weekend night, absolutely NOT worth your money.
