Edited 08-17-2024 I wrote my initial review 5 months ago. That's how long the rebuild process has taken to get my home back into its original condition. Unfortunately it's been the worst experience I have had with any service company in general, & I am not satisfied how this project went and the finished product. Initial estimate date of completion as per project manager Chris Plateros: 05-31-2024 Level or craftsmanship of sub-contractors: Low Communication between project manager and subcontractors: Non-Existent (sub contractors had to repaint home in areas several times due to this lack of communication) Communication between project manager supervisor Brian Hilburn and Vice President Calvin Hamilton: They don't co-exist as apparently Brian claims Calvin is not his "boss". How the final product got turned over to both my wife and I from project manager: By Text " Construction clean is finished. You guys are good to move back in." To summarize my experience with Paul Davis: We are a large family and have been waiting for Paul Davis to turn over our home as per pre-water damage accident. It's been a total of almost 6 months since this nightmare started. Of course there has been several delays that neither Paul Davis have control of like personal issues from my family that delayed the project almost 2 weeks, thunderstorms that affected contractors availability as per project manager and of course recent hurricane that as per project manager delayed supplies to get job completed and so on. We walked the home almost 2 weeks ago and pointed out opportunities of craftsmanship that are obvious at our home. We gave this company plenty of time to do things the right way and not skip basic attention to detail, but the results have been unacceptable. I have tried to reach out to Project Manager Supervisor and Vice President of Company so they can listen to my concerns and have not received any call back, my assumption is they are at home in their well crafted and well built homes with their respective families, while I, the customer is forced to live out of our own home in conditions we have to accept at the expense of Paul Davis. I will definitely not and never recommend this company to anyone I come across with. I will pioneer to prevent any family from going through what my family and I have gone through because of Paul Davis.

I read lots of amazing reviews on Mundae and requested a service. They were so responsive and talked me through the process. It wasn't long before someone came out to take several tests that consist of an air sample outside and inside and an actual sample of the mold, and a walk around to see if they spot more mold anywhere else. The report came back quick and scheduling of the mold remediation was quick. 3 workers were sent and it took half a day total since it was just our upstairs that needed it. Everyone we encountered was friendly, kind, and informative. Responsive whether it was text, phone call, or email. Appreciate the speediness in which the issue was resolved and felt very pleased with the service. Also I can report back that since then no more mold has appeared. I highly recommend them and have their info saved in case I need them in the future but honestly I hope I really don't.

We recently had a plumbing emergency at our home in Kingwood when water began leaking out of our…read moredownstairs toilet and creating a large puddle on the floor. This is an issue we've dealt with on and off over the years due to a recurring clog in the line, so we've had plumbers come out before to clear it. Because this was urgent, my husband called the Kingwood office of Roto-Rooter since they were the closest location to us. The technicians came out and attempted to clear the clog but said they couldn't get it. They then told us they ran a camera through the line and claimed our pipe was broken. We were then given an estimate of around $13,000 to repair the pipe. On top of that, we were charged over $400 essentially just for the visit and the diagnosis. At the time, we trusted what they told us. But later my husband started thinking about the appointment and realized something important: we were never shown the camera footage of this supposed broken pipe. He called the office afterward to ask about the footage and was told that they usually don't show customers the camera during the inspection and that the footage is typically sent later. But that raises an obvious concern: How would we even know if the footage sent later is actually from our home if we were never shown it during the inspection? Because of this, my husband decided to get a second opinion from another plumbing company. When the second company came out, they immediately ran their camera and invited us outside to watch the live camera feed with them while they inspected the line. What they showed us was very clear. Our pipe was NOT broken. Instead, the line simply has a belly/bend in the pipe, which we had been told about years ago and which can contribute to clogs. They were also able to successfully clear the clog during that same visit. So in our situation: * We were told we needed a $13,000 repair for a broken pipe * We were charged over $400 for that diagnosis * We were never shown the camera footage during the inspection * Another company showed us the live camera feed and confirmed the pipe was not broken * The actual problem -- the clog -- was cleared without a $13,000 repair As homeowners, we rely on professionals to provide honest and transparent information, especially during stressful emergencies. Being told we needed a major $13,000 repair that turned out not to be true is extremely concerning. What concerned us the most The biggest issue for us was the lack of transparency. If a company is diagnosing a broken pipe using a camera inspection, customers should be able to see the footage at the time of the inspection. Advice for other homeowners Before agreeing to any major sewer repair, make sure to ask: * Can I see the live camera footage of the problem? * Can you point out exactly where the pipe is broken? * Can I receive the footage before agreeing to the repair? If we had not gotten a second opinion, we could have easily moved forward with a $13,000 repair that wasn't actually needed. We would appreciate someone from management at Roto-Rooter reviewing this situation and contacting us regarding the $400+ we paid for a diagnosis that turned out to be incorrect.

My water heater suddenly stopped running and unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to restart it…read moreso I called Rotor-Rooter. They were able to respond fairly quick and took a total of about 10 minutes to turn on my water heater. The problem was THEY CHARGED ME $298.00 to do so! I found out that the water heater has a breaker that needed to be reset. My ignorance of this ended up being very costly; however, the fact that Rotor-Rooter took advantage of this is completely unethical and it shows that they are more than willing to put their profit making before their customer service. The technician that helped us was very nice but his company's policy is outrageous. I would understand paying a fair service call price, but $298.00 for a job that took only 10 minutes!!! Don't used these crooks!!!

That allowed humidity into the walls and caused mold and paint blistering around my front entry door. I turned again to YELP to locate a company to remediate the results and find the cause or source of the problem. Alan's Restoration had the highest number of 5-star reviews so I took a chance and contacted them - now wary of the highly rated YELP reviews. Turns out this outfit is worth their 5-stars - and then some. EXCELLENT customer service including accurate and frequent communication, fast response, quick turnaround, friendly people and most important - when a substantial problem (that they did not create) developed during the project - they came back after completion and corrected it the next day. And I'm sure it was probably at their expense. Not many companies like this around anymore. I know that for sure from nearly 70 years of experience with 50 in project management. It's a real crap shoot these days when contracting with anyone on YELP or pretty much anywhere else, as I unfortunately found out with that cable company that caused this entire problem. So, I could not rate this company any higher and I recommend them more than any other I've dealt with in many decades. They yanked my bacon outa' the frying pan on this one.
