**More details but same review** Anthony came to the property to do an inspection of the home but somehow only managed to inspect the livingroom and tiny "hallway" connected to it. Which were the two spot I pointed him to as the worst in the house but were absolutely not the only affected areas. Something I brought up to later on which he turned into a "miscommunication" on my part. No Anthony. There's no miscommunication about you not doing a job you were paid for. Unfortunately our landlord then turned around and hired Anthony to do the retesting during remediation and Anthony suggested a remediation company that did not have their license to run a remediation company (see photos) but the quality of their work and complete confusion when asked anything during the process was telling even before online confirmation. Two areas in the living room were written in the report that needed to be addressed by remediation professionals. Day 2 of remediation, we stop by the house to check the mail and to be nosy about the process at the house thus far. They completely missed and didn't do ANYTHING to one of the two areas in the living room even after we asked them why they weren't touching that area (they had no idea they needed too despite the report having it) and when bringing it to Anthony's attention (as well as him not doing any moisture readings or checking any other room or area in the house) he ignored the questions. There was a failed retest that we never got the results from and then a passing one 3 days later showing ZERO counts of black mold. Don't know how that could have been since no fans or dehumidifiers were used at any point. The second round of remediation after the failed attempt, was just one guy cleaning up the mess the first round left behind and him putting a fan in the kitchen with a bag on it that led out the kitchen window (we have cameras dummy) Also, locating and fixing the issue that was causing the mold in that one area until AFTER remediation was completed. The whole house smelling of mold and walls dripping with moisture still when we were allowed back in. I brought all of this up to Anthony and he played dumb but was all too ready to remind me of THCs price points if I wanted him to come back to the property and check things out. I also got the craziest one way-ed non-disparagement release/settlement from their lawyer that I've ever seen. They are insane if they think people should sign that just to get their money back for a job not done in the slightest and give them the power to sue you if they decide some random persons bad review of their business is connected to you in anyway imaginable. I gave multiple options for renegotiating terms and contract modifications that were mutually beneficial and they would not budge a fraction of an inch. Feeling guilty boys? read more

We did a new construction home, and Robert did all 3 of our inspections during the course of the construction (pre-pour, framing/pre-cover, and final). We have been very pleased with the quality and thoroughness of his inspections. Robert has been a home inspector for many years so he really knows his stuff. When we had questions he was very informative. Our final inspection included infrared thermography -- a huge plus, allowing detection of hidden water leaks, air leaks, insulation deficiencies, and more. A lot of inspectors don't or can't do this. Our inspection reports were always emailed to us by the evening of the inspection. Our builder didn't allow anyone to climb on the roof for inspection, so it was great that Robert brought his professional quality drone to get aerial views of the home. We plan on having Texas House Check do another inspection in a year, to detect anything that needs to be repaired before the 1 year new home warranty expires. For home purchase inspections, Texas House Check offers a buy back guarantee - if the inspection missed something and as a result you bought the house not knowing about it, they'll buy the house back from you if within 90 days of your purchase. Another of the many things I liked about Texas House Check was that Robert would occasionally stop by our construction site to check on the progress. The reason is that sometimes builders will just go on and blow past the predetermined checkpoints/inspection times without telling you -- either because they honestly overlooked that you wanted to do an inspection or because they "conveniently" forgot. One time, Robert told us to check with the builder because it looked like it was about time for an inspection, and sure enough - the builder said that it was time for an inspection & gave us 2 days' notice to do the inspection. If Robert hadn't checked and told us, we probably wouldn't have been able to do the inspection because the construction would've kept going and covered up the frame that was supposed to be inspected. All consumers, My name is Mei Mendoza and I am the client to which Kandice G. refers to in her very unprofessional review of Anthony and Texas House Check. Anthony is state certified and highly qualified - for her to suggest otherwise insinuates that I did not do my due diligence when hiring an inspector. When Anthony arrived, he did not "offer to do a mold inspection" - we specifically hired him for that very reason. Many technicians will test a room simply by setting up and collecting static samples. Anthony actually moves the air, disturbs the drywall and captures samples from the outlets and general area. When you live in a home, it is reasonable to believe that you will be moving throughout the area and much like dust, mold spores will stir up with movement. You need to be sure your inspector disturbs the area before taking a reading! I am absolutely confident in Texas House Check and in Anthony. His report did not lead me to back out of my offer - - there were several resulting red flags that had nothing to do with Anthony or Texas House Check that led to the offer being pulled. Robert and Anthony were very professional (there was one other technician but I don't remember his name). They gave a thorough inspection and had no problems with us being there to ask questions. Some inspectors I called, as well as my realtor, did. They went over everything they found and because of them, we have a brand new roof on our new home. The drone footage showed the wear and tear and the owner agreed to fix it. The thermal imaging also showed where insulation was missing in the home. The gas wasn't on at the time of inspection and they came back out to reinspect that as well (note: they were in the area. If they are NOT in the area, it's a $75 charge to come back out). My realtor wanted to get me one of the big names but I preferred to go with THC and the realtor was amazed by the level of detail in the report. They were on time, had over-shoes inside the house, were very professional and I had my report later on the same day. They used thermal technology to detect issues with insulation, moisture, leaks and others. They also used a drone to detect an issue with the roofing. Moreover, they mentioned in the report that the water heater has reached the end of its serviceable life although it was still functioning, and the seller agreed to replace the heater based on the report in addition to doing all of the major repairs mentioned in the report.
