Texas Inspection Services inspected for us in Fort Bend and returned a 92 page report in a few hours. the report was detailed and organized by system and gave a fair account of what was in good working condition, needed repair, or a consult from a specialist. The inspection included running all appliances and equipment, visual inspection of all accessible areas including attic and grounds, drone inspection of the roof and thermal imaging. I was present at the time of inspection and the inspector, Steve McCaddon, took time to discuss at length any apprehensions I had about the home. Texas Inspection also sub-contracted a septic inspector, Art Byrd who not only provided an inspection of the system but also provided a comprehensive set of guidelines to maximize the life of the septic. All of this was done at a 30% savings over the runner up. I will definitely use them the next time I am considering buying a home. read more

beware, these people will cost you thousands if you rely on their work. i purchased a house, was told by the company nothing was wrong with the foundation. 3 months later i'm told my foundation does have problems and will cost me over $10,000 to fix. the owner of the company was not willing to help in any way and said if i leave a bad review, he'll just respond to it. like it was no big deal. show him it is a big deal by going somewhere else. read more

I purchased several houses over the past ten years, and thus far Steve at Texan Inspection Services has been one of the most thorough inspectors I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Once the inspection was complete, he made sure to call me right away while the details of the inspection were still fresh in his head. Steve gladly kept me on the phone for about 45 minutes to go over every detail of the structure. Without hesitation, he gave me his contact information and invited me to contact him if I have follow-up questions, even if they come up several weeks after the closing. Steve also offered his advice and possible referrals if any repairs or improvements are needed in the future. Considering that we purchased this place from another state, his offer was most helpful. Normally when home inspectors are lazy (which I have unfortunately some across in the past), they hand you the report without another word, and hope to never hear from you again. Steve committed himself to his report and stood by every word and photograph in it. Although the cost might be a bit more than many competitors, it was worth every penny as Steve was able to find faults and inconsistencies that went well beyond the cost of the inspection. A year after we bought our house, the roof in the back patio started leaking. I hired a roof repair company to look into the issue and they told me that particular section of the roof had already undergone damage over the years and that should been identified by these guys. Obviously they didn't do a thorough job in the two hours that they spent and charged me $1300. And I am certain they didn't physically inspect that part of the roof which incidentally is accessible by just opening the window in the guest room upstairs. Anyway I tried to contact the inspection company, sent them a few emails as well, but they simply didn't bother to respond. I think for that reason alone they deserve the 1 star. read more

Even though our builder had their own inspectors we utilized Texan Inspection Services throughout the build of our our home. We were fortunate enough to have Jason as our inspector for all three phases of our home construction inspections. He was able to detect errors which the builder missed which were rectified immediately. As our first year was coming to a close we again used Texan Inspection Services for our first year warranty service. Jason was able to detect infractions that my husband and I would never have known or looked for. Jason was professional and courteous as were the staff at the office. Texan Inspections - DO NOT USE!! The inspector left my home in a way that made me feel very disrespected. I have a custom home and he left the microwave and stove unusable, the jet bathtub a mess and lights on all over the house. They are to leave the home in the manner in which it was found and he did not. When I called to complain - I got a condescending "I appreciate your call" SO UNPROFESSIONAL!! Do not use. read more

This was my 2nd appraisal with Texan Inspection. The first inspection was pretty good - saved me from buying a lemon, calling out expensive repairs and attention to detail - thus why I used the same inspector (Matthew S. from Texan Inspection Service) the second time. On the second inspection (the home we ended up purchasing) the details were not as strong and a few items were not found or just not noted for whatever reason. Simple things, like blinds and windows - half the blinds didn't work and half the windows barely operated, requiring significant strength to operate, the manual garage door did not stay up all the way and just rolls back - all little things like drains not draining or draining very slow. The larger items on list, the more important things, were not noted - stuff like patio roof required complete replacement as it leaked from every single crevice providing zero rain protection and was barely on the structure. The floors were completely warped/sloped so bad they have a 'rolling' effect. The furnace was in need of maintenance and sounded like a jet airplane crashing when you turn it on. Some of the power outlets were not putting out correct wattage and required re-working the fuse box by an electrician - these things should be easily picked up by any competent Inspector. These are only a few things to note the inspector missed (or for whatever reason, decided to not note this in the inspection the second time around). The one that bothers me the most is the huge toilet leak from the master bedroom to the living room ceiling. This leak, as the contractor put it 'the problem must have been around for years, since there was significant mold and mildew stains within the ceiling walls'. According to the contractor - something this large should have easily been detected by a home inspector. I was left feeling as if the inspector, whom was recommended by my realtor, may have not intentionally noted a few items that might have otherwise scared me away from the home I ended up purchasing. Because armed with the correct information, I would have not purchased this home. For this reason and the noted reasons above, im only giving a one star review to show how dissatisfied I am with the service. read more

He walked us through each area he checked and thoroughly explained what he found and his professional recommendations for each area of concern. Extra bonus that he was able to inspect the pool AND the sprinkler system! They were also able to setup the termite inspector for us as well.
