I wanted to love Fox Inspection, and initially I did, but unfortunately, we are now out over $10,000 because of issues they failed to point out during the numerous inspections we paid for (at their recommendation) before purchasing our home. The biggest problem was an active pest infestation (rats and fleas) that went completely unnoted, despite us paying thousands for their inspections. As first-time homebuyers, we really relied on Fox to guide us. We understand they are not a pest control company. However, Fox consistently recommended additional paid services--such as sewer, HVAC, air quality, plumbing, and termite inspections--either through their own team or their partners. Given that they flagged potential pest entry points and were physically in the attic multiple times (where fresh rat droppings were clearly present), it seems reasonable to expect them to also recommend a general pest inspection or at least point out the droppings. Had Fox informed us of the obvious signs of an infestation, we could have taken further steps before closing. Instead, we ended up with significant, unexpected costs found by different inspectors after closing, that could have been avoided with a simple recommendation. When we reached out to them about it, they just let us know that they are not a pest company. read more

Don't use this company. ------ I Just used this company again for a new house purchase because 10yrs ago I had a 5 star inspection from them. No longer the case with their team. The inspection report would mention damages, have two photos of it, but not show where on the house it was or if it was limited to just one area (it wasn't). Gordon Fox is a real gem! We had a water leak coming through our family room ceiling. Several trades tried to determine the source of the leak to no avail. I called Fox Inspections whom I have used once before several years ago also for leak detection on another home. He came the same day I called and felt certain he found the cause of the leak. I was extremely pleased with the work completed by Fox. They were very thorough and informative, and they provided a comprehensive report that clearly outlines the identified issues that were also verbally explained on-site. Along with this, the customer service was outstanding. There was a power outage while my inspection was in process that prevented the services from being fully completed. Rather than leaving and coming back at a later date for an additional charge, my inspector stayed and made good use of his time without power and was ultimately able to complete the full inspection once power was restored. One of the most thorough and educated home inspection companies I have come across working with the industry for over 15 years. I have hired them several times for my own home purchases and they don't miss a things all finding are explained is such detail the reason and possible future problems they will cause. Are more informed about building code than any other company I have come across and the continued changes to them even knowing the years sometimes months of the changes. They are so experienced and will take the time needed to answer all your questions, explain what next steps to take and the requirements of the state regarding the correction of any failed items, what items need to be repaired or corrected that are crucial to the home or you and the average cost. This helps with negotiating the sell and what you may want to include and require the seller to repair. Definitely in it for the care and protection of new homeowners or old homeowners having issues. read more

This is the 4th time I have used Fox since 2007 and it will be the last. They were prompt and gave me a very well done and good looking report. Unfortunately, they missed so much during the inspection that it has cost me thousands of dollars in repairs and replacements. I have had to have roofers, plumbers, HVAC, and electricians not including the replacement of a major appliance that did not work properly. Bill was very empathetic and I gave him all my feedback, but the fact is they missed a lot of stuff that should have not been missed. I had the full menu of services including the air quality inspection. It was an expensive inspection that really only got superficial items and missed the important things. read more

The reports were well written and thorough with photos for context. Tl;Dr version: If you want to make sure that the home you're BUYING doesn't have any issues, do NOT use Fox. Out initial review was incredibly positive. As time has worn on, it turns out that our inspection was subpar. #1 - There is a leaking gas supply hose underneath our range. There has been a "smell" of gas since we took possession of the house & it took us some time to figure out the source. This should've been figured out during the inspection. #2 - There is a "dead" outlet located in the middle of the living room wall, ostensibly to plug in a TV. This never worked from the time we moved in. As it turns out, the outlet is simply a wall-mounted extension cord that needs to be plugged into another outlet lower on the wall. #3 - Pool algae / mold was overlooked on the back retaining wall of the pool. read more

I'm pleased to say they maintain an extremely high level of professionalism and excellent quality of work. I'd highly recommend Fox and Jovon if you are after a prompt, very detailed, well-photographed, up-to-date home inspection report. On the latter item, Jovon came equipped with an HD drone to check the entire roof area and managed to spot an incorrectly secured vent boot seal that could have allowed water ingress - something you could not see from ground level.
