Oooh la la....we have an amazing new bakery on the west side! The decor is modern and welcoming, with art from a local artist (Melody Guini) making a beautiful and creative splash of colour on the walls. I received a friendly welcome from the staff and there is plenty of space to wait for your order, or sit and eat at one of the high tops against the back wall. If they provided more chairs/tables it might be nice, but that may come as there is room and they are still in the soft opening phase. They offer cool drinks and Bad Ass Coffee is next door if you want caffeine to accompany your bakery items. The food definitely has the WOW factor. We love empanadas and Miss Arepa on the west side and Momona in Kahului are good but this bakery is the best! Crunchy pastry outside, soft tasty filling, they deserve 10/10. Spinach empanada - so full, and luscious, and it actually tastes of spinach without too much spice to detract. Crunchy and luscious Cheese and Ham empanada - thinly sliced ham in an unctuous cheese sauce, you really taste the ingredients and the sauce is so moreish I also bought a couple of cakes for dessert (if they last that long!): Lemon Meringue - short pastry, sweet piped meringue and a beautiful lemon filling Fruit Tart - delicious custard with short pastry topped with a variety of fruit, although not enough fruit on the top according to Hubby who likes his fruit :) The prices are competitive for Maui, and the cakes are actually less than you would pay at Safeway yet much tastier. They are nicely packaged for gifting too. I would love to see larger sizes for celebration cakes :) While they don't currently offer Kamaaina rates they may once they are fully open and breaking even, which I look forward to. However I will still visit as their pricing is very competitive and their food definitely amazing. If you are on the west side do yourself a favour and drop by for the BEST empanada on the island, or a luxurious cake as a treat. read more

Such a gem of a bakery Everything tastes incredibly fresh--the pastries are perfectly flaky, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth good. You can tell they're made with care. And the mini cakes? Absolute perfection. Moist, beautifully decorated, and just the right size when you want a little treat without going overboard. read more

Miss ordered. And My items were not packaged in a bag always. But I paid in full, but items are missing from the bag every single time. This happens every single time. read more

So delicious, great customer service, not too busy. Adorable bakery with so many options!!

The service is always phenomenal. The staff is so friendly Valentino takes my orders all the time and is so helpful with suggestions! The location is perfect. We love to come here for coffee and a pastry to take across the street to Honokowai beach park. Absolutely stunning views and the clearest water. The pistachio croissant is amazing. The breakfast sandwich was delish. They have free samples almost every day if their other sweet treats. I will keep coming back! Mahalo Pau Bakery !! read more

We tried 3 flavors of empanada and all were delicious. The blueberry coffee cake was also really good. We enjoyed them all at the beach across the road. And we took a sourdough loaf to go, it has been tasty, too, and better than any bread we could buy at the grocery store. Recommend! read more

Very clean, modern interior and friendly staff. We tried a variety of empanadas and sweet pastries, which were all pretty tasty. We got a little sticker shock at the pricing, which was 20% higher than the menu prices posted in Jan 2026. But I guess that is the cost of vacationing in a resort like Kaanapali. read more

So excited to see a new bakery in the area! It's bright, fresh and inviting. It specializes in a mix of Argentinian and Hawaiian. The menu is medley of savory and sweet items. The Empanadas are served warm and flaky. Sandwiches look good. Will definitely try them next time. The pastries and cakes are lovely and tempting. Great place for breakfast and afternoon break. Only be quick to get here before closing time at 2 pm. Chimichurri, Argentina's most flavorful sauce will be a nice touch with the empanadas. Will definitely come back. read more

I got the caprese and pau empanadas. They were both really tasty, especially the pau. Highly recommend!

Omg; high quality pastries! I've had a sponge cake with coconut, creme de leche and walnuts that it was to die for. That's truly the real stuff! My go to every time I go to Maui from now on. read more

Pau Bakery - You won't believe yourself after having this! - Bakeries Near Me - Lahaina, Hawaii

Love this new spot!! Went here twice and it was so yummy and fresh. We got the beef empanada as well as the corn and cheese empanada. Overall the corn and cheese was my favorite - get it warmed up!! Also got the avocado toast twice. So simple but such good flavors. I would prefer if the tomatoes were roasted. The sourdough is fantastic next time we plan to buy a whole loaf. My husband got the breakfast toast and added avocado. He said it was good but definitely needed the avocado. Service was friendly and the store is cute. They could add a couple more tables. For seemingly simple dishes it does take a while, but when you're on vacation without a schedule it doesn't really matter! Can't wait to come back to Pau Bakeey read more

Empanadas here were good! Quick stop for some pastries and savory treats. The servers were kind, but they didn't really explain much of the menu or ordering. The vibe was chill, and it's right across the street from a beach, next door to Bad Ass Coffee and an organic little market. read more

Wonderful pastries and delicious desserts!! I highly recommend Pau Bakery! The staff is so friendly!

Got an awesome loaf of sourdough bread here. Great texture and sour taste. They had many other kinds of breakfast items but I didn't have any. Very busy in the am so somebody must think it's good. read more

It's so nice to have a new bakery available on the West side of Maui next to Bad Ass Coffee in Honokowaii. We made at least 3 visits. This is a small space more grab and go then sit and linger. Our favorites were the empanadas. So many flavors. We got at least 2 dozen while there as they make for a nice breakfast or lunch to reheat. The French inspired pastries were beautiful. We tried both a plain and almond croissant. I dont know how they do it in the humid environment but those croissants are crunch on outside and soft and buttery inside. The almond had such a beautiful flavor but wasn't weighed down by heavy almond paste. They also have a variety of sandwiches available on French bread or croissant. Their espresso is so smooth. Service can be slow and some items can go fast so dont give up on them. They are worth the wait and we will make this a regular stop on our annual visits. read more

We were greeted when we walked in with a hello and the delicious display of baked goods. We ordered a lilikoi bar, cinnamon roll, blueberry muffins, and chicken & beef empanadas. Every thing was delicious. The bar was tart and I really loved it as I did not expect that. The cinnamon rolls were soft. The empanadas were full of flavor. I'm sad that I can not go back there unless we go on vacation and fly out there again. Definitely try it though! The women who helped us were so sweet. Make sure to tip if you are able. read more

I get that everything is more expensive in Hawaii, but a ham, egg, and cheese croissant for almost $15 with tax is outrageous. We got two croissant sandwiches and two bakery items and it was $50! If they were that price and out of this world amazing, sure, but they weren't. They were just fine. Costco bakery items taste the same. read more

We stopped on our little road trip and split the egg/bacon bagel. It was so good. We also bought a cinnamon roll to eat later. They are huge. I warmed it and each ate 1/4 saving some for later. It is by far the best cinnamon roll either of us have ever had. Shamefully - I licked the plate read more

Absolutely delicious hidden gem here. We stumbled in while waiting for coffee next door and were greeted by warm bakery smells and delicious pastries. We got lucky and scored cinnamon rolls which were absolutely delicious and melted in your mouth. We also grabbed some beef empanadas for breakfast along with a tiramisu and balcarce cake both which were highly recommended from the staff. We were very impressed with the quick service and high quality items. 10/10 would recommend. read more

I love their smoked salmon on sourdough toast, as well as the bacon & egg bagel! I came here everyday for six consecutive days for my savory breakfast fix as it's next to my favorite coffee shop - Bad Ass Coffee. Their sandwiches are made to order so you get hot, great tasting eats. Their beef empanadas, though small, are packed with flavor. As for their pastries, I thought they were just okay. I had their blueberry coffee cake (too dense/not crumbly, not much flavor), cinnamon roll (Papi's around the corner is calling my name!), cream puff (more like a brioche bread instead of a "puffy" one), and pavlova (merengue was too thick, I need more whipped cream). read more

Great little bakery! We walked here from our hotel and were definitely hungry by the time we ordered. There was a short line and by the time we got there, not all menu items were available. We ended up ordering an assortment of items to cover us a few days: Cinnamon Roll Almond croissant Breakfast toast Lilikoi bar Sourdough bread Beef empanada Spinach & cheese empanada Everything was so good. Our favorite item was definitely the breakfast toast. The eggs were amazing! So soft and fluffy. Great consistency and it tasted really good too. I also loved the almond croissant - the texture and taste were spot on! The cinnamon roll was really yummy too, but I would pass it for next time. The only thing we didn't finish was the lilikoi bar - it's definitely passion fruit forward and was a little too tart for my taste. read more

Amazing big cinnamon rolls and empanadas. So delicious! There was no wait when we went at 10am.

Delicious bakery with many options. Loved the pistachio Croissant!! The breakfast sandwiches and various toast options are also great. They use quality ingredients and are definitely superior to other bakeries I have experienced. We Went back several times. read more

The coffee is just as good as the coffee shop next door. If you like passion fruit like I do, the likikoi bar will ruin your life it's so good. Also really enjoyed the pistachio croissant. That said, seating is extremely limited. Don't plan on finding a table. I ended up just buying a loaf of their bread and making my own avocado toast the rest of my trip. read more

Walked into this bakery toward the end of opening and there was thankfully no line. Debated going to Papi Ohana's down the street, but heard they run out of inventory sometimes. Ordered the cinnamon roll and the banana bread here. So disappointed to say both were aggressively mediocre. Maybe it was because the pastries weren't as fresh as the start of the day? The service was lovely as well. But I'll likely try other spots on the island next time. read more

Beyond the incredible food, the service is top notch. As an Argentine living in San José, it's rare to find flavors that truly take me back home. If you are looking for an authentic Argentine empanada, look no further. Highly recommended Pau Bakery is the real deal! read more

Came looking for croissant but ended up with a cinnamon roll. Thought it was gonna be sweet but it's actually more milky than sweet. It's a pleasant surprised and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The cinnamon roll isn't pastry soft, it's slightly more bagel soft, meaning it had a bit of a chew to it --if you're into that. Traditional cinnamon rolls, you get the sugar/cinnamon roll goo but you don't get it here. Guess the milky glaze makes up for it. It's pretty filling. So try when you're in the area. read more

First of all amazing cinnamon roll, initially we went to papi's but the line was too long so we ended up here and were not disappointed. The cinnamon roll was delicious and everything you want to be! Coffee was also delicious. The only bummer was I saw that they had Ube syrup and so I tried asking to have some of it in my latte but I don't think the person at the cash register, or the barista next to her knew what Ube syrup was and so even though I could see it behind the counter, I never got any in my latte. But otherwise, it was a wonderful experience. read more

The pastry we had were fantastic. Great selection of pastries the coffees were good too.

Talk about a great bakery! The food is fresh and delicious and everyone that works there is lovely.

So authetic and fresh! The selection is fabulous and the prices very fair. Have been there on our last two trips and they never disappoint. The moment you step in you feel at home. Bakery is clean and service is exceptional. We recently arrived after closing and they were so gracious and kind to our family. read more

Tried both of the "best" cinnamon roles, PAU's and the other one down the street. Total wait time of 48 minutes, with 3 of those minutes being here at PAU. ;) PAUs were unanimously our favorite, although the edge was slight. PAUs was more soft, doughy, and yeasty versus the other place being super (overly?) sweet and buttery. Really down to personal preference. Banana bread, sandwiches, and empanadas were good here, too! read more
