This place was honestly so cool. The peacocks free roam so it's important to be mindful where walking, and especially important to watch in their small parking lot as the birds wander into there as well. With that being said, there are no dogs allowed. We walked around the grounds a bit trying to find more birds. There's benches to sit, nice little water ponds to see, and a little trail as well. Would definitely advise going with closed toed shoes if you're planning to walk the trail. It's not really stroller friendly as there are branches and rocks scattered all along the path. I would definitely come back here, should I find myself back down in Austin. Such a wholesome and peaceful place!

The park is famous for the peacocks that reside on land of nearly 23 acres. They're so beautiful to watch. The park also has koi ponds, hiking trails, gardens, and the Mayfield-Gutsch cottage that dates back to the 1870s. It's a beautiful and peaceful park to hike, walk, or just relax in. Extremely well maintained and cared for. It's also a place my sisters like to visit when they're in town to see me.

I like to find neighborhood parks and this tiny one is nice for this little cherry creek…read moreneighborhood. It seems as though the playscape area is fairly new. It's covered with some shade sails. There is a volleyball net which looks fairly low. I think it's a sand court. I didn't walk that far over. There are some picnic tables and some outdoor grills. That area is covered in trees and has lots of shade. My dog had fun chasing a squirrel there so she gives it three doggie paws. I didn't seem any water fountains but maybe I just missed them. It would be nice for human and dog water at the park.

This is a city of Austin Park located in the Cherrywood in Neighborhood. It is surrounded on three…read moresides by the backyards of local residences and a wooden area on one side. It consists of about three or more acres of green space, which also act as water retention areas. It has a really well designed play scape area along with some covered swings for the kids to play on. There is plenty of green space to run around in, and there are numerous picnic tables with accompanying grills. There is a separate, smaller playscape area, not far from the volleyball court. There are two points of entry, and both are at the ends of dead end streets. Despite being a nice neighborhood park, there are no public bathrooms or a pool, and it does not connect up to any existing hike and bike trails. It's definitely a nice asset to the local community. Lots of photos that will give you greater insight included.
