Last review was 8 years ago when the Edgewater location first opened. Recently needed major repair…read moreand just like my prior experience service was excellent. Service professionals were knowledgeable, professional, and kept me very well informed. Especially happy with the drop off and pick up service they provided. The business has grown substantially which is a clear indication that other customers are as satisfied I. Hats off to Clinton who could not have been nicer and more accommodating and he certainly is an asset to the Neely staff. Hopefully, I won't need auto repairs for another 8 years but, if I do I won't hesitate to take my vehicle to Neely's. Thanks guys.

First, I want to start by saying I don't like having to do this b/c I have used Nealeys for a long…read moretime but overall, I'm very frustrated. I brought my Black Ram in for service about 2 months ago to have brakes all re-done and inspection red flags fixed (roughly $4500). After getting the truck back, it was severely shaking and idling very hard along with immediately misfiring when leaving the parking lot. I returned the truck believing that the inspection work I did not have done initially would help clear up any further issues, so I had them complete the remaining inspection red flags ($5500). To my surprise, this was the beginning of a month-long situation of working on the truck and trying to diagnose issue after issue to ultimately not fix the problems it was brought in for. On top of that I was told I needed to purchase axel extenders for the truck to ride better and replace the sway bar. After I spent the $900 on extenders, they installed and the truck was still shaking badly. Finally, I got the truck back and still no resolution to my issues. So, after 10K spent on a truck worth about 9K, I'm in an even worse situation than I was before but now down $10K. Customer service is and has always been great, no issues at all. In fact, I believe they were trying their best but giving me the truck back 3 different times to have me return it 3 different times for same issues, was infuriating. I'm not sure if I would use them again. Love the people, but being down that much money and now needing to figure it out myself, is not what I was expecting

Appallingly bad service at the Edgewater, MD shop. Took daughter's car in for a routine oil change…read moreand the tech found an oil leak we had not known about (no yellow light, no oil puddles), ignored it, put new oil in, managed to strip the threads of the drain plug so it couldn't close, and told their internal manager, who ignored it as well and let us take the car as if nothing was wrong. Disaster was averted when she unexpectedly came home early from her nursing shift in Baltimore, driving back before all of the new oil had drained, but with the RED oil light on and the car actually beeping at her during the last few miles. By then the sun was up and we found the overnight oil puddle in the driveway. Criminal negligence! We will never use Mr. Tire or their parent company Monro ever again, and neither should you!

I used to like this place, until I didn't. They know I do most of the easy maintenance on my own…read morevehicles, as you should, if you can and have the time. Ie. Air filters, oil changes, even brakes. The first problem was getting an oil change I didn't have time to do. I have an easy access panel on an after-market skid plate, that they over torqued the bolts, and when I went to do it myself, I couldn't get it off. I took it back to them (after I went to do my own and realized the bolt was stripped) and told them to get the stripped bolt out and replace it and do an oil change since I'm not taking the whole steel skid plate down myself just to change the oil when the point of the access panel is to make it simple. They returned my vehicle. Never fixed it. They took off the entire skid plate and now left a bolt out of the skid plate completely. Next, called to ask for a brake quote. I did my own last time (cross-drilled rotors for cooling in traffic), but have much heavier tires now and can't get the things back on solo. They won't replace the pads without the rotors. Um, I just did them and just need pads. Maybe they're mad I do some of the work myself? or maybe they're just getting cranky, but I've taken both my vehicles there since I moved here. Now I'm looking for another place. Ps. There used to be a blonde lady who worked there that was awesome and friendly. Now you just get nasty comments when you ask them to fix something they broke.

My son and I dropped off his 2005 Ford Escape because of a bad alternator. He didn't trust the shop…read morethat just replaced it(went bad in a day) so we looked for one that got rave reviews. Good plan? Long story, shot: They claimed the transfer case had to be removed in order to replace the alternator and the part would cost ~$500 and labour ~$1500. More than $2000 to replace a part that retails for less than $300 and an insane amount for labour that only requires about 1.5 hours according to the Ford Service Manual. It does not require removal of anything related to the transfer case at all. It requires the R/F wheel and axle be removed and then the alternator. They claimed that is impossible and that their "Ford Master Tech" has never heard of such a thing. I suggest he try reading the Ford Service Manual. I guess they have to make their $$ somehow, but they're not ripping off my son. I'll do it myself in the driveway...I tried to avoid working outside in the cold, but so be it. Good luck to anyone who goes to this place. My son ended up paying ~$70 for their "diagnostic" which had no basis in reality.
