I had a mixed experience here. The actual service performed on my car was fine and met my expectations. However, the customer service at drop-off left a bad impression. I arrived right at closing time and was about to place my key in the after-hours drop box when two employees were leaving. One of them said, "we're closed." I explained that I was just dropping off my key and planned to use the drop box, or come inside if possible. He responded that the alarm had already been set. He did take my key, filled out a short form, and placed it in the box, which I appreciated. When I returned to pick up my car, I mentioned that a more courteous greeting--something like, "Hi, we're just closing, can I help you?"--would have made a difference. Cliff responded with, "I could have been polite, but you can go elsewhere." That interaction was disappointing and overshadowed an otherwise satisfactory service. Went in this morning to see about what I thought was a flat tire. The technician indicated the "whatchamacallit" on the tire had broken and was letting all the air out. Got a flat tire today and it was obvious the tire could not be repaired (slash in sidewall). The repair shop I usually use said they would have to order the tire and could install it tomorrow. I took a chance on trying Chaney and stopped in there. The employees were very pleasant and helpful. Not only did they have a couple different tires in stock in the right size, but they were able to install one immediately. In 25 minutes I drove away with a new tire installed. And it cost less than I paid for my tires last year. I will definitely return the next time I need tires. read more

Do not use this place! They do not stand by their work, took my car in there to fix a flat tire, because the engine light came on I ran over a nail and A plug tire the engine light is still on and they told me just drive on it to go off well I've been driving over two hours still. I went back to them for restitution and the guys telling me I got a problem with my sensor. They should have checked that before I pulled off after they plugged the tire right? Something about them, ain't right, their standards are low. read more

Came in without an appointment for my free rotation and wanted to add an alignment. Reps friendly and accommodating even when I requested the alignment readout after tech said he didn't feel any pulling. No charge for the alignment since it was not misaligned even though I was willing to pay for their time. Overall happy with service. read more

My vehicle caught a flat and it was towed to Firestone and I was told they didn't have the tire in stock and couldn't get it until Tuesday. Chaney Tire & Auto not only had it in stock but could replace it the same day. After 5 and 1/2 hours and 3 failed attempts of getting the vehicle towed less than a mile, the tow truck finally picked my car up from Firestone and I called Chaney at 4:20 and explained everything that had happened and he told me to come on in even though he was supposed to have closed at 5pm. When I got there at 4:55 they welcomed me with the biggest smiles on their faces as I thanked them and apologized profusely. They were so understanding, kind, patient and helpful. We definitely need more people like them in this world. My entire day I spent on the phone trying to get my vehicle towed to have my tire replaced. Which should've been so simple. In the process I encountered so many attitudes, unprofessionalism and just plain rudeness and maybe a hint of racism. So for them to have been so kind, when they were literally waiting on me (pretty much all day) at that moment, meant the world to me. If I could give them a millions stars I most definitely would.... I will be referring anyone and everyone I do and don't (really) know their way! read more

I was calling around price checking for routine 60k transmission fluid change after being quoted $400 from the dealership and another not being able to complete it. Their technician looked up my car's manufacturing info- called me back and told me its lifetime fluid and I don't need to do anything. Saved me time, money and from a scam shop. I now understand why these people are 5 star! I will be back here for as long as I am stationed here. Tires needed replaced, took the car in the morning, they told me the tires I needed were not in stock, but they could get them by 3. They called me as soon as they came in, and I brought my car in. I am not kidding around when I say I was in and out within 20 min with two new tires. They had a great attitude the entire time with no BS and absolutely no sensitive culture avocado toast prices. Same great service a year later. This time I had an pull change and tire rotation. The entire offices took about an hour with two people in the back doing the work. Masks are worn inside and there's plenty of space to social distance with COVID. You don't need an appointment for an oil change but I recommend calling ahead of time to see what their wait time is. read more

Had a major setback with my Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3 Plus tires purchased elsewhere over two years ago. Sought assistance from Chaney for one damaged tire but turned out tire couldn't be repaired. Moreover, found out from Michelin that this model was "discontinued." Thus, had to buy 4 new tires. Bummer. Had only 24K miles on the tires. Nevertheless, got great assistance from Robert Harris regarding purchase of new tires and, more importantly, dealing with Michelin for warranty issues. The techs also were on the ball and corrected a lug nut/stud connection and expertly installed the new tires. In summary, I strongly recommend this particular tire shop. The employees work very well together and they make sure the customer is satisfied. read more

I had not worked with Chaney Tire and Auto in the past. I found them on Yelp and called because they had good reviews. They were not the lowest price, but they were one of the lower prices. (The guy with the lowest price did not have good reviews and his price was way out of line with the other folks I talked with.) Robert in the Annapolis store made a recommendation and he was right! I got good tires at a good price. They also did an oil change for me. They got me in and out as committed and with no surprises. I was happy with the service and the communications. Robert was so nice and professional. I called and he assisted me through everything. I told him my tire size, my schedule, and the kind of car I have. These guys deserve all their business. I have had a few issues with my aging SUV the past few months that they have sorted out. A persistent EVAP (emissions) issue took three visits to snuff out. They only charged me once, likely because it was just a matter of looking closer and replacing more hoses (cheap). I passed my emissions test today, yay! I had a horrid front end noise and they replaced a bad wheel bearing. I discovered it was a two-fold noise after driving my car for a day or two afterwards. They determined it was the front differential and they did a full service. A few weeks later it was making the noise again. They looked at it and gave me an honest response--it was slowly wearing out, BUT it would likely last a good amount of time and I was in no imminent danger of driving it as is. Then they quoted me the price to have it replaced come time. They do not do complex rebuilds of such parts, since this place is mainly...well, tires, so keep that in mind. They call you before they do any work and give you an up front estimate. The actual price has always been the same as the estimate. read more

I went to have my tire patched ($24.99 as of this review) after discovering two nails in my tire treads. Unfortunately they discovered a large nail in the side of the tire, where a patch would not be effective, and they suggested replacing the entire tire. They showed me where the nail was without my asking, which helped me feel like they weren't taking advantage. I asked for their least expensive tire and they obliged, offering me a $75 Michelin energy saver. I looked it up later and it was an amazing price; they're usually around $140. Their quoted wait time was accurate. They had a comfortable waiting area with WiFi and a cable TV which was a nice way to pass 1.5hrs. I will definitely return for other tire related repairs or replacements. read more

I had my oil change done there a month or two ago, and they did a great job. Then I dropped my car off today to have a new tire put on. They gave me a lower quote than everyone else, and it will be ready in thirty minutes. You can't beat that! I'll be going back to them again. This place is awesome! We bought a car in PA last night and needed to get it inspected today so we could get it registered in MD. I called right at 8:00 and they said they didn't have any appointments but if I could drop it off they would squeeze it in. Richard at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. He called at 11:30 and said the car was done. When I picked it up he also gave me the name of a tax and title place to call to save the time and hassle of going to MVA. I was done in 15 minutes! I've had my oil changed here twice and these guys are great. They are polite, professional and most important honest. They had even gone out of they're way to get the oil filter for my truck.
