I am a fan of Autotech for the following reasons: 1. Gary and Morgan always explain their recommendation. 2. They don't up-sell. Gary has coached me on what needs to be fixed (i.e., safety-related) versus what would be nice to be fixed (i.e., irritating squeak). 3. Best I can tell their prices are comparable to other well-regarded auto repair facilities 4. If I leave for a trip, they will let me keep the car there for as long as I like. 5. It has only happened once, but they always resolve an issue they didn't fix, but charged me for at no cost. 6. Versatile--they have worked on my Toyota Tacoma, Kia Forte, Maxda CX-9. I give them high marks for honesty, integrity, patience, customer service, and being just good folks. Keep up the great work! read more

I was in Annapolis for business and went to Halim at Auto Tech after my car started making a strange sound. They looked it over and made sure it was safe to drive. Very grateful for their honesty and tips for my car! I would 100% go back - thank you for a great experience while I was in a new city! read more

I needed quite a few repairs done on my vehicle and the guys at Auto Tech managed to get the repairs done very quickly with frequent status updates at a reasonable price. Highly recommend, will be returning. read more

In general a good shop in the past but any miscommunication will be pinned as your fault. Appointment attempt done online. No email confirmation received and they said they called me but never left a message. Appointment 2 done over the phone. I missed appointment 2 but did not receive an email or voicemail. Claimed he tried to call me to confirm. Again, I checked junk mail folder and no voice mails were left. When I tried to call to explain that I still wanted the service done and there is some sort of miscommunication occurring, he simply said he cannot work on my car. My previous car worked on there was done well (the service) but i guess calling to apologize for missing an appointment gets you no-where. Onto the next shop... read more

After having difficulty with other shops, I decided to give Auto-Tech Annapolis a call as they were recommended to me by somebody. I'm glad I gave them a call! Gary was very friendly, informative, and helpful. I set up an appointment right away. Their waiting room was extremely clean and smelt nice. I had to get my brake pads and rotors replaced and was told it'd be an hour wait. It was only 30 minutes! Not only that, but they pumped air into my tires as well for no extra charge. :) Overall, great service and very trustworthy people. I'll definitely come back here and recommend them to others! read more

Previous owner, Gary, was outstanding along with the techs that worked for him. The new owner(s) are ok but I am not sure the same level of service and expertise is there. They padded the recent oil change cost with frills that ran the bill up - like new windshield wipers that I didn't ask for. Gary's cost was typically around $85. The new bill was almost double that. I will be looking for another shop. read more

When you make an appointment a week or more in advance it is for your vehicle to be worked on. This place says appointments are for drop off not necessarily for repairs that day. This place slow and they make you feel as if you are a pain and not a paying customer. Stay away! read more

New to the area and took a shot with these guys for inspection. Couldn't be happier with the service and friendly team here. Second experience I brought my car there as a walk-in with a nail in the tire. They took it right in. Will not go anywhere else for auto repair. read more

These folks are honest and do great work. I've been bringing my car to them for years and would 100% recommend them. There is a flexible and convenient drop off process during after hours. read more

Excellent and honest service. Have used them a few times now and each time is great. This last time made an appt for brakes all around. After the mechanic looked at everything they recommended that I hold off on the rear brakes for thousands more miles. They could have just replaced them and charged me but instead were honest, thinking more about the customer and less about making a few bucks. Very clean shop (spotless) and comfortable waiting area with complimentary water and snacks. Wish there were more companies like this. read more

This place has been top notch every time I have taken my vehicle there. I've had 4 different vehicles inspected and serviced there. Unfortunately Gary sold the business and I haven't had any interaction with the new owners. I'm super interested to hear if they have the same mechanics working there. But I do know that they no longer do state inspections. read more

If I could give AutoTech six (6) stars I would! Halim Younes, the Owner is a mechanic's mechanic! If you want excellent customer service, the highest professionalism, outstanding quality and unbeatable prices AutoTech is the only place in Maryland to take your cars. Halim and his team have serviced all three of my cars and each time he made me feel as if my car and the services I needed were his top priority. Halim and his team at AutoTech are friendly, outgoing, honest, responsive and efficient. He never recommends any part or service that he doesn't feel is absolutely needed or meets the standard for quality needed to insure your car will run safely and adds to the long-term usefulness if the vehicle. You can count on him to give you a detailed list of any recommended parts or services along with a complete explanation of what needs to be performed. He personally coordinates with other shops and dealers to get your part delivered in an expedited manner if not on hand. He is "hands-on" and will get in your car to see the issues for himself and go on a quick "test drive" with you to see and hear the same things you are concerned about your vehicle. Most importantly, Halim is a man of his word!! You can trust him to give you solid professional advice and recommendations. He will never recommend unneeded services, repairs or parts! He never overcharges, in fact, he goes out of his way to discount parts and labor to give you the very best deal possible! He is so well respected that other car shops acknowledge his expertise, honesty and professionalism. There is none better than Halim and AutoTech of Annapolis! Go to the best! Go to see Halim and his team at AutoTech (six stars******)! read more

I recently had my car inspected, oil changed, and brake pads replaced. They did an excellent job with my car, did the repairs efficiently, and even referred me to a windshield repair company to get my windshield fixed quickly! Excellent customer service and car care. Thank you to Gary and Morgan! read more

Each time I've called and talked this shop they have come off very blunt and rude. Even diagnosed my car in 3 seconds over the phone, wrong of course. I can't recommend this shop to anyone. And if your car is anything "pre 2003 they won't touch it". read more

At one time Gary would have been considered 'honest', obviously his business model has changed. I went in to have my breaks done; I had been in previously for an oil change, and the person helping me let me know my break pads were getting really low, and considering my driving habits I should get in asap. I thanked him and even mentioned that I didn't want to go through the expense of replacing the rotors. Not once did he correct me on how Gary defines break job. Fast forward and I'm standing at the counter ready to pay, and I see that I'm being charged for rotors. When I questioned the amount of the bill and that work was done without my knowledge or consent, I was informed THEN AND ONLY THEN that 'that's how we do breaks jobs'. I was told that there had been complaints about 'squeaking' because of rust and 'pitting', so now they automatically replace them. Meaning they will replace rotors whether it's needed or not. Again, not once was I informed prior or during these procedures about this policy. If course, I was given an entire $22 as a recompense, that and an apology about miss-communication. Doing work without informing the customer or requiring consent is the act of a thief. Don't buy the 'local business owner' charade; Jiffy Lube does the same work but cheaper and just as quick. read more

Auto Tech saved me again. Garry I love you guys. Fixed me up and ready for my trip. You are the best! I so appreciate your support and I will see you when I get back. Best place I have ever been for my vehicles. I have been with Auto Tech since the beginning. read more

Everyone here is always so friendly and helpful with any of your car needs. Morgan at the front desk explains everything in detail, making your car's problems, and Auto Tech's solutions, easy to understand - even for someone who knows nothing about cars like me. They go above and beyond to ensure quality service (fixing what Jiffy Lube had recently f*cked up on my car, free of charge) and the price for the overall work was way less than expected! I will definitely be back. read more

Best customer service I ever received from a auto repair shop. I own a boat repair service company and was recommend to come here by a friend. From the first phone call all the way through the process was a absolute 5 start experience, I have since started to bring both my company trucks here and plan to bring my personal vehicle here as well. Great job guys keep up the good work! read more

I had a great experience when I took my car here for steering problem issues as well as to have my MD state inspection. Honest and did great work. Also helped suggest a cheaper windshield chip repair option to avoid a costly replacement. I always refer others here. Friendly and honest. Thank you for a great experience. My boyfriend also had a good experience getting his air conditioning fixed. They also have an AAMC employee discount. read more

I have taken my all my cars to them over the last several years and they have been great. They explain everything to you and are very honest. They answer any questions and address any problems you have with the cars. I have recommended them to many of my friends and family who use them. They are also close to my work place so I am able to drop the car off and walk to work. Gary, Morgan and the entire staff are great to work with. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I have too many cars, and therefore too many maintenance bills. Gary, Morgan and the team have always done me right. Gary is very patient and more than willing to explain everything going on and to provide many options. I highly recommend them! read more

Auto Tech's mechanic Gary was patient, generous, fast and--most importantly--exceedingly competent when working on my 15-yr old Jeep with a starter wiring problem last week. On a business trip from DC where we live, my girlfriend got in our 99 Cherokee at the end of the day and found that it wouldn't start! 40 miles from home at rush hour is not where you want your car to be disabled! I found Auto Tech here on Yelp and called Gary less than a few minutes before closing time. Upon hearing the details of the problem, he told me he could come to where my girlfriend was stranded with the car and look at it. He was there 20 minutes later. After 5 minutes under the car testing wires and fuses, he got it started up and got my lady and the jeep back on the road headed for DC where I brought it to my local shop. Without him we would be paying $200 for a tow! I only wish I could have left the car with him up there instead of relying on my neighborhood shop. Then, the most amazing part: Gary didn't even charge us! He offered some advice about the underlying problem for my DC mechanic to work with, and asked that we follow up to tell him what happened with it. When I spoke with him today, Gary had additional advice about the problem! Please don't expect free roadside service from Auto Tech as standard (they'd go out of business in a week!) but please know that this kind of character and generosity is increasingly hard to find, and builds valuable trust. I'm now thinking of moving to Annapolis so Gary can be my full time mechanic! read more

Our experience with Auto Tech has been exceptional. Friendly staff, excellent prices and conscientious service. If you want your mechanic to treat you like you are part of his family, go to Auto Tech. read more

Love this shop. Best customer service and amazing mechanic work. Family-run business. Gary and his daughter both go out of their way to explain issues and give advice. Recently, after they fixed a faulty hose on my brakes, Gary called a couple days later just to make sure everything was still ok with my car. I think this business is one of the best kept secrets of Annapolis. read more

I have trusted Gary, Morgan, and the staff with every one of my cars for the past 5+ years. They have always gone above and beyond for myself, my friends, and my family members that I have all referred to them. It's rare to find an honest and trustworthy mechanic. Look no further, this is the best of the best. read more

I've been here a couple of times. The service was great, the staff is warm and friendly and make you feel like family or long time friend. Yes, I am talking about an auto repair facility. They go out of their way to describe the situation with your car and give reasonable estimates and options. Last time I took my wifes car in with a flat. They found a nail in the tire and patched it no charge. I will trust my car with no other and they have built a loyal following in my community. They take the fear out of car repairs read more

Took my Honda Minivan there for the first time yesterday. My first impression was very positive, as the waiting room was very pleasant. The owner, Gary, took a significant amount of time with me to discuss my vehicle, my expectations for service, and my life in general. It was pleasant to have someone who was more interested in me and my family than just getting my car in and out of the shop. Would highly recommend. read more

Never had a bad experience here. Morgan (front desk) is very knowledgable and helps explain issues. Gary is very honest and will give you a straight answer. I feel I can trust him. I have been to many car shops and Autotech is by far the most honest and doesn't try to rip you off. read more

I have come here over the past 3 years and am always impressed. The prices are fair, they patiently explain the problem(s) to you, they only point out critical problems (no unnecessary upselling), are very good on sticking to their timing, and have even talked me through how to do some basic repairs myself. I come here for all of my car repair needs now, they're the best! read more

Great mechanic but also honest, which you don't always find. Won't sell you the moon when all you need is an easy fix. He has saved my son's 17 year old car many times. Knows what they're doing and have always come in on time and as promised. Wish that everyone ran their business as he does. He's got our business and everyone else who's asked me. BTW- we found him on Yelp when our son called us at 11:30 PM when his car broke down on the way home from work. We had to tow him somewhere, at that hour, we couldn't call a friend to ask, so relying on Yelp, we towed him to Gary's lot. Thanks Yelp! This was a great recommendation. read more

I had an absolutely fantastic experience here! Gary, Morgan, and the staff were nothing short of amazing. My car started shaking really bad and I knew I needed to get it looked at ASAP before any lasting damage occurred. I normally go to the car dealership for maintenance and repairs because I'm pretty clueless when it comes to cars, but they were booked two weeks in advance. I found Auto Tech and I'm really glad I did! Gary was very responsive and booked me for the next day. When I was there, you could tell he took pride in his work and enjoyed what he did. He took the time explain in layman's terms what was wrong with a specific part in my engine, what it's supposed to do, why it wasn't working, and how to fix it. The staff found a distributor in the area that sold a replacement part, but they were closed for deliveries at that time. Gary went out of his way to drive to the distributor himself so I wouldn't have to wait another day. He quickly installed the part, checked to make sure everything else in my car was normal, and topped off all the air in my tires to boot. Everyone there was enthusiastic and kind. I've never had such a great experience with a mechanic before. I 100% recommend them to anyone in the Annapolis area! read more

Gary, Morgan and the staff at Auto Tech are a great team. I've had a 2008 Jeep GC Overland serviced twice and now a new CarMax purchase - 2014 Jeep GC Limited. We are gifting the '08 Jeep to our son and they saved me a spare wheel replacement by un-mounting the tire (original, but in great condition) and removing the rust that was causing it to leak air. On the new (to me) 2014 Jeep they identified a cracked rear tail light that was causing condensation inside - a MD inspection ding that CarMax missed. CarMax is now in the process of replacing the whole assembly, as they should. Thanks to Gary's thorough inspection, this saved me possible future expense and a non-working tail light. Thanks, Gary!! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! It is so refreshing to have a mechanic I can trust to be honest! I called them for an estimate to replace my brake pads and rotors after Honda told me I needed this. Morgan was very helpful on the phone and friendly answering my questions. The estimate was comparable in price to the Honda Dealership quote, BUT Honda told me I needed to completely replace everything and would not pass MD inspection in my current condition. Gary checked out my car and told me he could resurface the rotors (at least 2 times before they would not pass inspection!) and walked me through all my needs step by step. You can tell he cares about the work he is doing and the customers he is serving! They went above and beyond to make sure my car was in top shape before I drove 8 hours for the holiday weekend. They even did some smaller things without charging me for them. I will recommend them to everyone I know! read more

Had a bleh experience back in April - I was towed because my car wouldn't start, and after having multiple issues with the starter (AAA came in March and hit the starter to get it working), I knew it needed to be replaced. Auto Tech was kind of condescending and said that we had just replaced the battery incorrectly and that there was no problem with the starter, and charged us for a battery test. A few days later - had to get towed here AGAIN because of the starter, and then was finally OK to replace the starter. Also, had just gotten a rusted shifter cable replaced (at a different mechanic) and was never told that might have been part of the problem for the car not starting, which now I think may also have been to blame. The staff is nice enough but really were not apologetic at all about our running around and getting towed multiple times, and the price isn't right, either. read more

I went to this place because it had great reviews, I am from out of town and my car had started making some unpleasant noises that needed addressed. I don't like crooked mechanics so I look at reviews. I went in on a Friday and was told I wasn't going to be able to be fit in till Monday. I was heading on a trip so I moved my plans to accommodate this appointment. I brought my car in mid day because that's the only time I could find accommodations for a friend to drive behind me and pick me up. I was given no appointment time, just told that I could bring my car around anytime after they opened. When I got there the woman at the desk seemed to forget that I made an "appointment" until she looked at a notebook with solely the model of my car scribbled down. She then proceeded to tell me she no longer could fit me in and I would have to wait till Wednesday. I have to leave town tomorrow and can't wait, so along with wasting my time my car goes unfixed and I will have to go somewhere else. I can't attest to the mechanic ability of this place, it may possibly be great! However, I will never know because it is run so unprofessionally I couldn't even get an appointment after scheduling days in advance. Please use actual appointments for customers, and take contact info so you can communicate with them. read more

Gary (owner) and Morgan (receptionist/daughter) are awesome. They are very knowledgeable and honest. Gary will tell me if I need a repair that he can't do or he feels is best done by the car dealership. He was referred to me by another of his customers years ago. They always fit me in and have even looked at my car on a moment's notice when I heard an odd sound and was not comfortable driving it. I have since traded that car and now take my current car to Auto tech. read more
