Just got back from a weekend away in Flagstaff, and our best meal, BY FAR, was at Pato Thai. MMMM. Why does Flagstaff have such good Thai food?! This place is such a hidden gem. We got there early, which turned out to be perfect. We were one of only a few tables, so service was quick, friendly, and attentive. By the end of the meal, we were all debating which dish was our favorite, and honestly, it was a tough call! I loved the juicy chicken satay, and the fresh rolls portion was HUGE and delicious. My daughters absolutely loved the pad see ew, which had that awesome wok-kissed flavor that makes you want to keep eating even when you're full. The sweet and sour chicken had amazing sweet pineapple, and the yellow curry was restaurant-perfect. Basically, everyone left happy, which in a family of four is no small accomplishment. And the prices are totally fair, especially for the portions. Pato Thai is officially going on our permanent "must eat whenever we're in Flagstaff" list. Can't wait to come back! read more

There are ALOT of Thai spots in Flagstaff, but we decided on Pato because of location. We placed our order online and didn't have any problems. When we arrived to pick up, it was very busy, some people waiting to be seated. It was a Saturday night though, so this wasn't too surprising. Very bright lighting which is always nice. Our server Eden was super nice and sweet but the rest of the employees didn't even interact with us. I had papaya salad that had too much watter in it, and tasted like it was pickled salad, and it only had couple pieces of peanuts. I asked for peanut sauce and they charged me 2 $?! Mushroom and tomato soup was ok. Potstickers and Tsunami rice (combination fried rice) was actually very good. It was busy Saturday night, we didn't wait for long. Their watter tasted horrible. We split an appetizer and I got to try some of their meals, but I ordered the pad Thai for dinner. What is generally a good representation of an entire menu at a Thai restaurant was a large plate with little excitement. Even after adding some spice, I was still craving more flavor. Visited Pato Thai Cuisine while traveling in Flagstaff. I ordered a soup and a fried rice, and overall the food was very good. The fried rice was especially tasty. I ordered it medium spicy, but it wasn't spicy at all for me. I chose the beef fried rice, and while the flavor was great, the beef was a bit overcooked and slightly tough to chew. The seafood soup was served hot and definitely warming, which I really liked. However, the seafood portion was a bit limited for the price -- it had about three mussels, two shrimp, plus some squid strips and imitation crab. The restaurant was very busy during our visit, and there were only three servers handling everything -- taking orders, serving food, and working the front. Because of that, the service was a bit slow, but understandable given how crowded it was. Overall, great flavors and solid food, with some room for improvement. read more

My wife and I headed up north for a concert and had the pleasure of dining at Pato Thai Cuisine. This is hands down the best Thai food I've ever had. We started with the chicken satay and veggie rolls and for our entrees we had yellow curry and pad see ewe. The Curry's rich bold flavors were decadent and the noodles had the most amazing wok hei. The red curry had a good flavor and a good amount of seafood. It wasn't too spicy for me, but did have a kick. The curry was on the liquid side. It comes with white rice. The pad Thai flavor was pretty good, but the noodles were on the soggy side. I liked the large amount of veggies on top. It also had a good amount of seafood in it. The fish was my fave. Always a must stop when in Flagstaff. This is the best most authentic Thai restaurant in the area. We love coming here. The food is insane. Service is always great. YUM!! We come to visit Flagstaff quite often and we tried this Thai restaurant for the first time and loved it! We ordered the Panang curry, wonton soup and pad Thai and it was all very good. This was my first time having Panang curry and I've been craving it since! So creamy and delicious with a lot of veggies too! If you're looking for a good Thai place definitely recommend this one. The curry was hearty, warming, and flavorful, but mine was almost too spicy (right on the edge for me). But hubby loved the heat level! The short ribs were tender and well-seasoned. Pato Thai Cuisine... Who knew Thai food could be so good out in the middle of nowhere? Lol just kidding. We drove over hour and a half from the Grand Canyon as I was craving Thai food for my birthday. This place is located in Downtown Flagstaff. We ordered the Potato Shrimp appetizers, which were basically fried shrimp with potato spirals surrounding it. It was quite unique and tasty, dipped in sweet and sour sauce. We also tried the Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp, which stated off very hot on an extremely cold and windy day. However, the coals disintegrated and the soup became cold quickly so we did not finish the pot. The star of the show was the Tsunami Fried Rice, with a combination of seafood items such as mussels, fried fish, squid, imitation crab, and shrimp stir fried with bell peppers and onions. It was incredibly flavorful, and probably the BEST FRIED RICE I'VE EVER HAD, which means something as I have tried many Thai fried rice restaurants, even in Thailand. I would definitely come back here to eat the Tsunami Fried Rice again, as well as the Potato Shrimp, and try some of their other dishes like Kai Kua or their Pad Thai and salads when I am in the area. The customer service was good, and the food came out extremely fast like when you go to the Vietnamese restaurants lol. Of all the Thai places in Flagstaff, this one is my favorite. Whether it's curry, Pad Thai, or cashew nut tofu, I've never been disappointed here. The portion sizes are large, the menu itself is huge, and you can't go wrong. The worst thing about this place is that I always leave too full, because I want some chicken satay appetizer with my entree. Everything is well seasoned, and if you say spicy, it'll be spicy. Service is generally good and the space itself is cute. Parking downtown is what it is. They have a lot of beverage options (adult and kid friendly). I can't think of something bad to say. I call this version lazy pad se ewe simply because it lacks all the real elements of the actual dish (hot wok caramelization, black soy, egg). This version is typical and disappointing, goopy brown sauce, dried reconstituted noodles and none of the deep umami flavors if done right. Was craving Thai food in red rock mountains and was skeptical of coming here because some of the reviews weren't good and the mere fact that I eat amazing Thai food 1-2x a week in my hometown. But, not many options in the area and decided to come nonetheless and was pleasantly surprised. Shared the tom yum soup with shrimp, medium spicy and they delivered, just wished it had cilantro and green onions. I had basil Thai chicken for main dish and it was perfectly spicy with lots of bamboo shoots, not the same from what I'm used to but the dish was very good. BF had the cashew shrimp, he enjoyed it but not enough shrimps in my opinion, probably 8 pieces. Prices were similar to east coast pricing, adequate portions. Pato Thai cuisine has the best Thai food I've had in a very long time. I'd give them five stars but the service was poor. I think they desperately need additional staff. I had the ginger tea to drink. I haven't seen it elsewhere. Outstanding! It was sweet with a good ginger taste. We started with potstickers. Excellent! Crispy on the outside accompanied by a semi-sweet soy sauce. My wife had the chicken and vegetables. She loved it! I had the pasaang (sp?). It had a creamy mild to medium spicy sauce. Thin pieces of chicken breast. Very very tasty. Service could be better. When we arrived we were seated promptly. We waited about ten minutes and no one came to the table. I went to the host stand and asked about our server. The hostess got took our order and we were served our food promptly. We had to wait a while for our bill too. Since this is the week between Christmas and New Year's and Flagstaff is a tourist town it could be that they were much busier than normal (though the restaurant wasn't full). I'd go back. Legit Thai food in Flagstaff! We ordered shrimp salad, tom ka soup and pad see ew. Salad was refreshing and shrimp were big and flavorful. Tom ka soup has great coconut flavor and not too sour like at some other places. Pad see ew had a good portion and even my sick kid enjoyed it a ton. Service was also prompt. They told us all servers can help which makes them a very efficient team. Interesting and nice deco on the wall as well.
