When you search Yelp for "Patio Covers", Patio Guys Winchester is listed # 1 with a 5 Star Rating and that position and rating is a well deserved one! Unfortunately we live in a world where companies don't return phone calls, text messages, emails etc in a timely manner or at all, Adam does not fit into that category. Every time I reached out to Adam he quickly got back with me in a timely manner either thru text or a phone call. From our initial conversation thru the final handshake after the patio was completed it was a top rate experience. Adam is a very low key owner that doesn't oversell or pressure you in to doing something that you are not comfortable doing and experienced enough to find out what you are really looking for and meeting that vision that you have on your project. Garrett met with me right on time the morning of our install and immediately made me feel confident in the job he would do. He is extremely knowledgeable of all aspects of the construction and was extremely helpful in giving me options on how he could work with my lights, fans, columns etc. He emphasized that this was going to be "My" patio cover and not a Patio Guy patio cover and although he would make suggestions, he would do whatever I wanted done to the patio to make me happy. Brody and Luke worked along with Garrett to get the job completed and it was like having 3 foreman on the job, all having extreme expertise in the installation. These 3 treat your home as if it was their own, taking great pride in not only the installation but the clean-up. We had a hard rain yesterday that delayed them a few hours but they worked till almost 9 last night, were back at 7 this morning along with Charles to finish up and never got a hint from any of them that they were unhappy about having to return to my house to finish the job. My patio cover looks even better than I anticipated and the entire process from start to finish was exceptional! Kudos to Garrett, Brody, Luke and also Charles who came by this morning to help Luke & Brody finish up. They are a great team and Adam is fortunate to have them on his team. From start to finish, Adam and his crew were true professionals in building our new 12x35 ft patio cover, and we are thrilled with the result! Patio Guy was recommended to us by our pool builder, and the many glowing reviews here on yelp helped me to choose them for this job. Adam's estimate was very reasonable compared to others, but what I really appreciated was his ability to listen to exactly what we were looking for, and to give us the best options for making it all a reality, without up-selling anything we didn't need or want. His crew was punctual, courteous, and absolutely meticulous with their clean-up when the installation was complete. We had 2 ceiling fans and 4 post lights installed on the cover, as well as a new power outlet installed on the house exterior wall, for a future outdoor tv on the patio. Due to the proximity of the pool, the cover also needed to be bonded with copper wire to our pool equipment, for safety. They were able to do this correctly, but with aesthetics in mind, so that you barely see the wire at all. Garrett and Jesse were careful about going over their installation process with me along the way, to be sure that everything would be to our liking, and they answered all of my questions patiently and happily. We were given information about how to best take care of the cover, gutters, etc, and they even had a recommendation for us when we asked about safely hanging anything from the cover in the future. Garrett also gave us information about the city's inspection of the cover, so we would know what to expect. These guys are knowledgeable, take pride in their work, and are respectful of homeowners' time and property. I highly recommend Patio Guy! Thanks again to Adam and crew. I received quotes from three different Alumawood companies and they all showed up on time and were very professional. What set Adam (The Patio Guy) apart from the others (besides his great Yelp ratings) was his ability to talk with and advise you on the patio cover you want. I never once felt like I was getting a salesmen's pitch. He gives you a brief resume and his business philosophy and then he listens to what you want . He included all costs and fees into the quote (the other two did not). The crew came out and got right to work...They were a team from beginning to end, there was never a time when somebody was standing around not doing anything. It took them less than six hours to build my cover. They consistently double checked their work to ensure the structure was straight and true. Somethings to think about / takeaways.... All 3 of my quotes were pretty much drawn up on the spot and then that paper becomes your sort of contract when you are moving forward, so make sure it's clear and you're clear on what is included. I really wanted and needed another outlet on my patio and because I talked to three different companies, somehow it didn't make it into the PG quote/contract. It's your patio cover so make sure you know what is included...It was my fault and it's too late when you remember it when they are 90% complete. I 100% recommend the Patio Guy. read more

It all started with a knock at the door from the city code enforcement. They wanted to inspect my property for a possible building code violation. After the inspection the city inspector found the patio cover was not permitted. I was shocked to learn you needed a building permit for a patio cover; never the less I know now. I'm not here to bash Adam only want people to know my experience was not as fulfilling as others might have had. He should have let me know about building permits before leaving me with this problem. When I tried to get the permit I was handed an $800 bill. They told me I might have paid only $200; because of the penalties I'm forced to pay more. The city gave me two choices; take the patio cover down or pay their fee. Since the patio cover cost about the same as the fine; looks like we are paying for a permit. I see he has other people saying good things. I guess I'm the only one; but never the less I'm not impressed. I really wish he would have explained this more thoroughly. We thought about having him help us with the process; but my wife is uncomfortable dealing with him. My recommendation to all my fellow Yelper's; check with the city to see if a building code is required and get everything in writing from Adam. He left me with many grey areas and little information on what to do. read more

When I initially called Adam, he came out quickly and provided me with an estimate. He arrived on time and was very professional. We looked over the estimate, and decided that it was not enough coverage and the posts needed to be moved to accommodate the inside view. We asked Adam if he could come back and modify the initial plan. He had no problem with it and came back when he had time and modified the plans to our approval. Because of the added coverage, we needed to add a cement footing. Adam came back a third time to approve the footing and give the project a go. At this point, we were just very pleased with the process. When it came to the installation, all I can say is that it was excellent. Adam sent over a 2-person crew led by Brody and included Charlie. The installation took about a day and they were super efficient and clean. We were very impressed with how it was managed, even with a last minute decision to move a post to give us a better inside view. They came back and even put up an outdoor blind. Brody even came up with an excellent solution to tie the blind down. 'All in all, there was a wait but there is a wait for everything as a result of the pandemic. We just had our new 15'6" x 16'6" patio cover installed with fan outlet and a couple of electrical plug outlets. This is a review up to this point including customer service (will update after we've been able to enjoy it for a little while regarding quality): The owner came out and met with us to see what we wanted and helped map it out and gave advice on what to do and what not to do. He was patient while we went through the HOA approval process and as soon as we had that he plugged us in within a couple of days! His guys Brody, Brent and Devin came out and installed it in about 4 hours. They called when they were on their way with an ETA and were very polite and respectful. They managed to tear our screen door, and I text the owner and he immediately responded with: "Sometimes their tool bags scrape those. Send me over the bill sorry about that." You just don't find people like this today - AMAZING Customer Service! He genuinely cares! TIP: we didn't know they would install our ceiling fan if we had it the day of install, so make sure you have it ready and they will actually install it for you!!! Huge bonus not to have to hire an electrician afterward! Wish I had better photos, because it looks really nice in person!! read more

My wife and I had been doing endless research on patio covers: insulated versus non-insulated; duralum versus alumawood and everything else under the sun -- at first we were for sure going to do insulated and Adam did not try to sway us but after viewing the great job that his crew did in their install of non-insulated to our neighbors we changed our minds and went with the non-insulated. These guys came on time and got the job done in just 1 day and the look and feel that goes with it is incredible -- a great enhancement to our home for a great price. I purchased my house a couple of years ago and wanted to install a patio cover. I contacted the Patio Guy after seeing his low prices and good yelp reviews. Adam sent his crew of 4 out one day to install the patio cover and after unloading their truck they began setting up for the install. About an hour after arriving they noticed that the wood that the cover would connect to was needing replaced. They immediately informed me and noted that they are able to install the cover but a few years later I would probably have problems due to the wood. Adam came out 15 min. later and confirmed his team's initial concern. He recommended that we get the wood replaced first. I agreed and rescheduled after the repairs were made. I really appreciate Adam and his crew's truthfulness. Adam and his group put me and their reputation first above money. They could have easily installed it and I would have been pleased at the time not realizing that in fact I would have more costly repairs (disassemble the patio cover, replace wood, reassemble patio cover) down the road. I cannot express through a review, how happy I am with my new Alumawood Patio cover! Adam came out and gave me an estimate, took measurements and answered all of my questions. He informed me that there would be more than a several week lead time due to the pandemic. I was pleasantly surprised when he called less than 2 weeks later to inform me that our cover had been fabricated and he was calling to schedule an install day! Today was the day and we are more than happy with our new patio cover! It's beautiful and I feel like it was a great deal for the bonus in aesthetics that it gave our back yard. I LOVE my new patio cover! My old one was wood and had become termite infested and had wood rot. I've been looking at Alumawood for years at all the home shows but thought I would never be able to afford it. My next door neighbor (who is very much a penny pincher and very picky about having work done) had hers done by Patio Guy and was very impressed with the job they did as well as well as their professionalism. I actually talked to Adam several times before he came to give me an estimate. He was very patient and gave me some advice about tearing down our existing cover. He showed up promptly for his appointed time, and was very thorough in explaining the options available as well as the process. He even left the color samples with me for two weeks while I tried to make up my mind! The day of the install went very smoothly. There were four crew members, all of whom were very polite and meticulous. They got the job done quickly and cleaned up completely afterwards. Adam, the owner was great to work with and his crew could not have been nicer. I called to get an estimate and he gave me an appointment for the next day and unlike many other contractors he arrived at the time he set to meet. He took care of getting the city permit and putting together the package needed to get my HOA approval, In between signing the contract and starting the job if I called or sent him a text with a question I received a response within minutes. He had to remove our existing wood patio cover which ran the full length of the back of my house and partially around the side. He set an appointment to take down the existing cover and install the new alumawood cover and install two fans and said it would be done in one day. The day of installation his crew arrived at 8:30am in the morning and completed the job at 6 pm the same day. The patio cover looks great and his crew left the patio cleaner then when they started. To be completely honest, we started our interaction with Patio Guy with a bit of a hiccup in the planning phase. (The installer discovered a building code issue on the first day of construction, before the work was started. A mistake had been made, and to correct it would change the whole design of the cover.) So, you might ask, "Then why did you give them a 5-star rating?" Because they showed the kind of integrity and good customer service in *correcting* the mistake that fully restored our confidence, going over and above what one would hope a company would do in such a case. A total redesign, no change in cost to us. In the end, we got a well-built cover at an excellent value, built by polite workers who clearly know their stuff. Their integrity and workmanship are without question. We highly recommend Patio Guy on those merits without reservation - it's a solid business doing excellent work, putting the customer first. Yesterday, our patio cover was installed by Larry, Luke, and, later in the day, Brent. These guys are amazing. They arrived on time and completed the job at the end of their long day. The Alumawood product is new for us, we've always had wood-covered patios in the past, and we really like the look. These guys are truly professional and take great pride in their work. They checked and double-checked each joint for accuracy and made certain the cover was attached to the wall of our house securely to prevent any leaking (as if it rains very much in Temecula). Wow! They cleaned the patio cover to get rid of all dirt and touched-up the paint at the end of the day. I purchased a new outdoor remote-controlled ceiling fan they were unfamiliar with and they did an outstanding job installing it and making sure it worked correctly. I highly recommend Patio Guy for Alumawood patios. Adam was very accommodating in scheduling the removal of our old patios and the installation of our new Alumawood patios. We had two patios: one that covered the back of the house by our family room and another on the back of the house by the bedroom. Corey and Brent removed our old patios and were very careful to clean up thoroughly so our dog wouldn't get splinters from the debris. These two young men were polite, tidy and very knowledgeable about how to put up our new patios. They had to work at covering and grinding down the old patio post brackets. They also installed our previously wired-in patio lights to the new patio cover beautifully. They discussed the installation with us and how they were planning to set it up to make sure we were happy with their plan before they started. I would 100% recommend the Patio Guy. Adam came out to give us a quote which included props to help us visualize what our new patio cover, fans and custom columns would look like. Very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The extra step definitely made my decision easy! After the contract was signed, Sydney, the office manager, was very nice and courteous with all communications by phone and was able to email me a computer rendering and detailed specs the same day so I could send that to the HOA for approval which was no problem at all. Looking for any service on Yelp is challenging but Patio Guy came up with excellent reviews. I called and left a message and the owner Adam called me and even gave me a very accurate rough estimate on my Patio. He shared with me how we could save money (take the old one down yourself) and we scheduled an appointment for measurement. He was very responsive via text which I needed since I am meetings literally all day. He even told us we didn't have to be home for the install which for my husband and I worked out great. The installers (sorry don't know your names since we weren't home) were amazing it's like we walked into a new backyard. Like Christmas in July! They left everything clean with some extra touch up paint in case. I totally appreciate the flexibility and workmanship.
