The tortellini Gorgonzola visually had 3 leafs of spinach and a tiny wedge of tomato chopped into minuscule pieces, twice that amount would still have been a small amount. Nice relaxing atmosphere, the of choice for lighting bothered me a little because there was a lot of different fixtures. The place was clean and relaxed with good service. We ordered the lasagna, ziti, garlic bread, vanella gelato with a lemonade and Italian soda. The wait staff answered questions of things we didn't even think to ask, I overheard them on another table and she pointed out the Alfredo didn't come with chicken. Made me feel good that I knew what I was getting. The lasagna was good, seems like they figured out how to keep it from being overly greasy, which is why I rarely get lasagna. My ziti was amazing, the Italian sausage had a good flavor. I was kind of surprised with the garlic bread, it wasn't bad at all but to read all the reviews I had high expectations. As for the desert the gelato was more ice cream than gelato, not bad by any means but when your expecting gelato and get ice cream its a little aggravating. Fantastic pasta! The Spaghetti Carbonara my favorite. I've made a lot of grub hub orders and they always come through. During dinner time there is usually an hour wait before it's delivered but I mean what do you expect when they're working with a full crowd? There's a reason this place is always packed! The food is AMAZING! Expect a wait, theres usually a pretty large crowd of people waiting for a table outside, so don't come hangry. I'm not a huge fan of the decor, it was clearly put together on a tight budget but its comfortable. The staff are friendly and extremely attentive. I never have to ask for a refill. This place is all shiny and nice looking but has sub par food at best. My artichoke bruschetta tasted like a sirloin steak and was black and soaked with black grill grease. Let them know it was inedible and then didn't get one person to check on us untill we were practically finished with our meals. Poor service, inattentive staff, and just in general lack luster. I'm going to start off by saying my family has been in the restaurant business for 2 decades and I am impressed by how this pastini is run. Whether it's lunch, dinner or take out, this place has great food. Personally I enjoy coming in to eat because the atmosphere is welcoming and has an upper scale restaurant feel while still being affordable. Above all, the management has treated me as if I'm their best customer. I always get phenomenal service and the one time the server mixed up my order, Nick, the manager came over and personally apologized and took care of us. He gave us first class service. I got to say, it's the little things. He still remembers my name. Sounds corny but this guy is top notch. I would say I come every two weeks and I look forward to it every time. This was truly a big disappointment. I got takeout the other day, and maybe it was the Togo box or maybe it was just a bad day, but the food was just tolerable, not good, not enjoyable, not even pleasant. To say nothing of the price. To quote my wife, "it tastes like I'm eating off my grandparent's barn floor." I didn't feel quite as strongly, but it was bad. The salad was okay, I actually finished that, though mostly because we couldn't eat the pasta and I didn't want to waste everything. If it had tasted good, it would've been worth the price, maybe. But it didn't, so it's definitely not worth it to me. We're not big fans of Olive Garden (except their salad, and alfredo) but this was far worse. Olive gardens "free" salad is better than the one we paid for here. 1 star for the good bread. Try this place at your own risk. Maybe you'll have a better experience. I was so excited when I learned that Pastini has a Eugene location! I am a big fan of the one in SE Portland and Bridgeport, and I have been looking forward to try this out. Though the reviews were not the most promising, I decided to visit this place for my birthday (Plus, my entree was going to be free!). We easily found a big table on a Wednesday night. No one in my family has ever been here, so they kept commenting on how much they enjoyed the ambience. We had dinner at 5, so a couple of them were able to take advantage of their happy hour menu options. All of us were very happy with the food we had, in addition to having my free dinner, we also got a complimentary piece of Tiramisu to share. While I can't promise this is the best Italian restaurant in town, it was a great place in my point of view. We had received excellent service and managed to keep our bill under 100 dollars (all of us got drinks as well), even if my entree wasn't free. I am definitely coming back again! read more

Last night (1/4/2022) was my first time at Pastini. I had a friend visiting from out of town and we thought we would give it a try. Nice atmosphere. Attentive staff. Clean. My friend and I split the Cobb Salad and OH MY GOSH!!! Not only was the presentation the best I have ever seen for a salad anywhere, but everything was perfect in it and the dressing was amazing! We just moved from Houston, TX & have been trying new restaurants since we got here. Pastini provided an excellent dinner for my husband and i as we celebrated my 25th birthday. Service was excellent, food was great. Only reason i did not rate 5 stars is because i do wish they had more options for appetizers. Really not impressed. We kept our order simple to see how the basics were done here. We ordered Spaghetti & Meatballs, Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken, and Garlic Bread. The portion size was not what someone would expect for over $33 unless it was excellent in quality and taste. We are not big portion eaters and I feel a lot of people would step away hungry if this is all they ate. The pasta was cooked perfectly. The red sauce was honestly not as good as most jarred sauces. A jar of Prego jacked up with some extra onion, garlic, and black pepper would beat this in a blind taste test guaranteed. A good $8 premium jar of sauce such as Rao's Homemade Brand blows this sauce out of the water. Not what I expect to be served at a restaurant. The meatballs were dismal. Super dense and heavy and the taste was bland. The Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken was flavorless. No cheese flavor, no cream flavor, no hints of pepper or nutmeg that you would expect. The chicken taste boiled, flavorless. Save yourself the trip. There are a lot of great Italian places in town. read more

I love IPA's but the only choice was . . . . . NOT my favorite by any means. Our guests wanted a light domestic but had to settle for a Pilsner that they did not like. Nothing on tap????? C'mon! This is Eugene! We love the succulent garlic bread, ordered two 6-peice baskets. They came overcooked with hard crusts and black char around the edges on some. The Caeser salad used to come cut in bite sized pieces on a small oblong dish. Last nights came a soup/cereal bowl filled with large pieces of lettuce with a small amount of parmesan cheese. A fairly safe place to get dinner--it will be non-offensive to most, especially if you have picky eaters. The ambiance is great and servers are friendly. They do have a pretty decent wine list as well and they spotlight local wines, which I like. I liked our dinner, but nothing blew me out of the water. Also the garlic bread was a bit dry ( coulda easily fix this myself ) and maybe im wierd but when I order from somplace for the first time I like to try what I get as the chef makes it. After reading mixed reviews, I was hesitant to try this place. I'm so glad I did! I called to make a dinner reservation for 4 but they don't take reservations for dinner. That's okay, but it would be nice if they did. When we showed up we were greeted by a friendly host who told us it would be about a 20 minute wait to be seated. We only waited about 7 minutes before we were led to our table. We started with the steamer clams and they were delicious! We finished the clams but we wouldn't let our server take the plate because the broth was so good, we couldn't let it go! We used it to dip our bread for the rest of the meal. When our entrees arrived, they all looked beautiful. I tasted a bite of everyone's and they were all delicious! I really liked the size of their dishes. They were by no means small but some places that serve pasta give you an obscene amount of food which no human should ever attempt to consume in one sitting. This was the perfect amount to be full but not feel like you need a wheelbarrow to get to your car. Over all, great atmosphere, great service, delicious food, well worth the price. We ordered garlic bread and after a couple of minutes changed our mind and asked if we could get a salad instead. They took both of them for us without charging for our bread. We enjoyed our time there. The salad and garlic bread was so delicious. Their portions are pretty good and their dishes are well decorated. My fiancé took me to this lovely restaurant for my birthday this year. It was my first time there. The decor is sleek and eye appealed my. The garlic bread is off the charts! Delicious to the extreme. We started with pallet pleasing cocktails and drooled over the menu. The marinara sauce is very original and gives you a desire to have just one more bite even after you are full. I had the stuffed pasta shells and it was a birthday present all on it's own. Pastini is a really great place to get dinner with a group of friends. The restaurant is modern and clean but is still very casual. There is ample seating for everyone. We went on a Friday at 6 with a group of 11 and only had to wait about 45 minutes. Luckily there are a lot of other shops to check out that made the wait pass quickly. The food was really good. I got the spicy shrimp fettuccine and was pleased with my entree. I can't give Pastini 5 stars only because it is not the best shrimp pasta I've ever had, but still super tasty. The prices are reasonable but definitely on the pricier side for a college student like myself. The service was great. One of my friends couldn't stop coughing (swallowed something down the wrong pipe) and so one of the waitresses brought her a cough drop and some water which was so sweet! Nice looking restaurant but it lacks a bar. Meaning, they serve alcohol but they do not have a bar at which you can sit. It's pretty rare to find a modern restaurant of this type without a bar and all very busy places tend to have one. It helps filter out the single diners from taking whole tables. It boosts alcohol sales for people waiting for friends. It's just a good idea. Not sure I'll return for precisely this reason, I tend to dine out on week nights by myself and prefer to sit at the bar. Food was decent. Service was good. The odd thing for me was they served my linguine and seafood with cheese on top. This is a bit controversial for pasta places and they should have asked. I never put cheese on seafood pasta but thought I'd give it a go. I found out that I hated it, kills the flavor of the clams and shrimp, all I tasted was parmesan. read more

He got the spicy shrimp pasta and not many dishes wake him up in heat, but this did! Very good. I got the Linguini Misto Mare (again) and the flavors still great. I was astonished with their commitment on this order. Yesterday, I scheduled a pickup order at 5:00 and was instantly able to retrieve my food & wine (I ordered the winter special, a piece of tirimisu, a bottle of Cabernet & a liter of San pellegrino water). When I got home, I really enjoyed everything. The pasta had a great texture, especially mixed with the sauces & meats. Our food arrived to longer than 4 minutes after we ordered. I get it, it's meant to be fast, but that was iffy fast. As if they had it all made, and just mixed it or reheated it. It was delicious however. Portion sizes not worth the price, but it was a comfortable atmosphere. If you're looking for a quick lunch, or a meeting, and have money, Pastini is worth it. I've been to two Pastini locations in the Portland area and this beats both of them. This restaurant is located on the ground level of the Hyatt Place building at Oakway Center. It's much more spacious than other Pastini locations, and the food and service is excellent. I had the baked ziti and I loved it. I will definitely return. read more

My husband had spaghetti and meatballs and I had the meatball sandwich with Caesar salad. The food was good but pasta wasn't properly finished and due to that there was water at the bottom of his bowl. Was odd that my plate actually had more food and was two dollars cheaper than my husbands. Would definitely come here again if in the area. But far from the best Italian place in town. read more
