This is fast casual and Italian American at its core. It's really a 3.5 but rounding up for local and good service. This was my second time having Pasta Mista - the first time was at a larger gathering where we tried their lasagna. This was my first time getting pickup and I got their pizza. Half special and half Hawaiian. The staff is super friendly, and I was surprised to see how big the location is. There's a whole alcohol section as well. I think I like their pastas more than the pizza. The crust was too cardboardy for my taste. The sauce, cheese was all fine but the dough was off. But again bad pizza is also decent. I do think it's a local favorite, and I've read the reviews that it's where locals get NY slices but honestly, I've had better on a random street vendor in NYC. read more

Accidentally came across this spot after grocery shopping. Pizza is my favorite food group so I gave in. This is probably the first time I was able to get a personal Margherita pizza *SCORE*. I appreciated the option to buy a single pour glass of wine. While Sutter Home is not my go to... I treated myself. I wanted a cannoli but they were out. The young lady at the counter suggested the carrot cake or red velvet as an alternative. When the pizza came out it smelled AHHHMAZING... and the taste matched. The cake wasn't my fave... seemed more food coloring or box cake than a pure red velvet. The atmosphere of the restaurant is chill. A decent amount of seating, dim-ish lighting. We've come here for years on Jan 12 for my son's requested birthday meal. It's his favorite pizza and the staff is so friendly. This was the first year the pizza seemed a bit dry and crust just wasn't as good. One person on the staff was friendly. I was wondering if this location has a new owner? Or maybe just an off day. While traveling I ordered from this Yelp reviewed place. I ordered stuffed shells and a side of meatballs to go . My order was ready when I got there. When I got back to my hotel I unpacked the food which was still hot due to good packaging. Each dish had it's own distinctive red sauce and my bread soaked up any sauce left in the pans. I've been hearing about the infamous "spaghetti pizza" for awhile now so I decided to finally try it. First thing I noticed was the slices are huge! I wasn't expecting that. I had been craving a simple fettucini alfredo but I didn't want to spend much time nor cash. This place had a Shrimp alfredo on penne so I tried that, ordering to take it home. As I waited, a young woman was folding pizza boxes from a stack that were piled on edge on the restaurant floor. Yes, the flap end that forms part of the "lid" and gets tucked into the box (right next to your pizza) was in contact with the floor. Yuck. The food was steaming hot and was a huge portion! It came with an unremarkable slice of Italian bread, buttered with a dried pepper spice. There were about 8-9 medium shrimp. I could barely finish half of the dish. It was just okay, though. It's a simple clean pie, thin crust (not burnt on the bottom) filling, and made fresh to order. They also have a tasty cheese steak which comes with cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and hot peppers. I liked how both items didn't feel heavy or too greasy. However, I tried their pasta dish for the first time tonight-- lasagna $10.99. It was ordered for takeout, came in a small round container with 6" piece of garlic bread (no garlic visible, but buttered). TOO heavy, the ground beef was honestly textured a bit strange (very soft, fine crumbly). I also found the tomato sauce to be the same one they use as pizza sauce. Very plain marinara, I'm not sure if they take it out of a can... Not outstanding and I had semi-high hopes considering I was pleased with the other things I've tried on the menu. This pasta is very very good! My partner got the cheeseburger sub and the chicken alfredo (I got plain) and everything was delicious. The alfredo sauce wasn't too runny or too thick and had a good flavor. Took a little bit to get our food but it was because there were so many to go orders coming through. We got the 16" special, and at first it smelled really good, and it was very hot and fresh pizza. It came out in 15 minutes, so I was very happy about that. However, I'm not gonna lie the taste was disappointing compared to the visual/smell. First, the toppings were very choppy and large, and the onions were barely cooked. It felt like it was tossed after the pizza came out. Second, I felt like there wasn't enough cheese, and the sauce was not that great either. It was the kind of pizza that when you take a bite, the entire cheese+ topping of the slice comes off with it. We were around the corner at Old Line Spirit's Ready Room and yelped "pasta." This place was the closest and had the best reviews. We ordered chicken parm, tortellini bolognese and garlic knots. I've been ordering pizza from Pasta Mista more recently because it's easy parking to stop by and pick up. My go to pizzas are White Gourmet or pepperoni and banana peppers. The white gourmet doesn't have sauce but I like the mix of veggies and garlic. The pepperoni and banana peppers is adding my own toppings but I like the spicy and sour combo. My husband enjoys their chicken parm pasta dish which comes with spaghetti. Pretty basic dish with soft noodles and marinara sauce. Their cheesesteaks are also good. I really like their crust and the sub rolls. I tried the spaghetti pizza for the first time last night and boy is that thing heavy! It only comes in a large - a pizza with spaghetti baked on top of it served with a side of marinara. It was okay, but I don't know that I would order it again. Run, don't walk to this Italian gem for pizzas, pasta, pizza-pasta (yes, with spaghetti) and great sandwiches! This well established fixture in Canton is a routine stop for those who know of its existence. I met a construction worker who goes there multiple times a week and gets an order to eat there for lunch and one to go. The friendly staff was quick in taking the order, prepping the food and ensuring the order was correct once finished. There are by the slice options to pick through a display glass as well as full pizzas, sandwiches and pasta dishes made to order. My wife had the chicken parm and the chicken was moist-- NOT OVERCOOKED, while the noodles were good, not quite as al dente as she would have liked but, good. I went for the cold Italian sub (my staple for judging sandwiches since college) and I was not disappointed but will need to get the hot cold cut sub per a recommendation received-- and I will be going back....often, though I will need to increase my cardio for those weeks. The Italian sandwich needed more vin n oil but I told them to go easy on that so it was my bad, not theirs. The 2 slices of pizza I ordered were massive--- all the slices are enough to share, in my opinion OR if you happen to be an athlete of some sort, or are unwittingly harboring an intestinal worm that is consuming 30-50% of your food, unbeknownst to you! The spaghetti pizza is worth trying out. I never ever would have that adding even more carbs to a pizza would work, but spaghetti works! The spaghetti made there is good enough to get on its own and does not lose quality once added to the pie. The crust is fresh, not overcooked (not too soft, not too hard--- goldielocks just right!) The 2nd pizza was pepperoni but the pizza had a top on it though it was not a stromboli or calzone. Again, "just right" on everything despite its daunting size. I highly recommend a toaster oven so that you can save some of these and enjoy them for a couple days. With a toaster oven, they lose very little if any quality after being refridgerated and re-heated. With such an ample menu, for Italian food lovers, this is a must try and may become a frequent stop in your yearly food outings. read more

So... full disclaimer I'm a transplant from NY so you could say I'm somewhat of a pizza snob. I've had pizza all over Baltimore but this is one of the best pizza places I've been to in the city. They are also one of the only spots in the city that make NY style pizza.
