My wife ordered takeout for us and ordered for me. I had not heard of Pasta Max prior but glad we met. Salmon was charged grilled which added nice flavor. Veggies in butter cream sauce cooked perfectly and deliciously seasoned. Mashed potatoes were creamy with real potatoes, cooked perfect. Ceasar salad was fresh and salad dressing is definitely homemade. Nice size portions to top it off. The salmon was a little overcooked for my preference but it could have been due to the salmon cooking in the take out container and possibly a reheat in the microwave at home. I will update my review when I visit Pasta Max to dine in. Oh those garlic rolls. Sinful and glutenous. If you have a weakness for bread, you will lose the battle. This place is by far the best Italian in town! They use fresh, flavorful ingredients. The chef graduated Culinary Institute of America and it definitely shows. The service is very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. I had their Penne Rigate which is a penne (pipe) pasta, with grilled chicken breast, sliced Italian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, and marinara sauce, top it all off with fresh basil. It was incredible! For dessert, I had their Peanut Butter Chocolate Cheesecake, which was so smooth, creamy, not too sweet, but bustling with flavor! Hit the spot. This place is a little gem. The food is always fresh and made to order. This works well for my wife who has food allergies. She can always find something on the menu and have it tailored to meet her needs. I like trying new items on the menu and they never disappoint. Over the years I've tried the traditional pasta items such as spaghetti or lasagna which are great. I've also had the pizza, fish and most of the specialties which are always great. The service is impeccable and feel like they genuinely want to serve you. You don't find that in a lot of restaurants now days. My only complaint is the wait on a Friday or Saturday night. I have had a great time ever since I first came here back in 2016. I normally buy spaghetti or fettuccine, which are both a great choice if you ask me. It is also clean and fancy, yet pretty casual at the same time. The wait is sometimes long, and waiters are very polite. They are almost always happy! What a fantastic place. We went early so needed no res. Had an absolutely fabulous meal, including caprese salad, spaghetti and pizza. The wine was really good and reasonably priced. Our server Tricia was the best. Super knowledgeable about the menu, the wine, and everything else. She was fantastic. Will definitely be back the next time we come through the area. Yes, the reviews are accurate. We stopped in for lunch and loved, loved, loved, it. Great staff, delightful interior, great selection. The garlic rolls are deadly, in a good way. I had the Angel Hair Pasta with chicken and fresh veggies in a light marinara sauce. My dining companion had the Lasagna with a meat sauce. The lunches came with salads, a house and a ceasar, both very fresh and homemade dressings. The pasta was fresh, hand cut and perfectly cooked. Both sauces (or gravy, as my Italian relatives would say) were clean, fresh and perfectly seasoned. This is a gem of a place, just off the square. Don't miss this place! read more

Absolutely incredible!! The atmosphere is classy yet relaxed. You read the front of the menu and get excited. The aroma is old school Italian. It draws you in. Very nice wine choices paired with classic appetizers - I had the mussels and they were some of the best ever. Hot garlic bread was HOT and delicious. Greek salad was perfect and for the main course the veal was out of this world!! My wife had penne rigate which was equally incredible. Boys had lasagne and spaghetti with meat sauce and the noodles were perfectly home made. This restaurant was a suggestion from some locals, so my mother and I went for dinner one night and now it's one of those restaurants that will always be a restaurant we go back to! Such good food cooked well! My favorite is the scallops with vegetable risotto! Yumm and the soups are to die for! First time visit. We'd heard so many great things about Pasta Max. Looking forward to a Friday night visit. Great ambiance. Ordered Meat Lasagne and Pepper Pappardelle. The lasagna was wonderful. The salad was very nice. Sadly the Pappardelle was very disappointing. The chicken was over-cooked. I kept thinking that the first piece just had grissel. Then second piece as well. Didn't want to upset the dinner friends by sending it back so ate half and took remainder home. Wife tried a piece and said it was tough because it was over-cooked, like it had been cooked earlier and reheated and tossed in my dish. We had the cheesecake which was perfect. First time here. Traveling and it was recommended by our hotel. Great suggestion! Agree with other reviewers that if you come hungry, don't load up in the marvelous garlic rolls (but they were delicious so hard to resist!) My husband had the angel hair pasta with Italian sausage, mushrooms, pesto tomato sauce - it was piled high with everything, no skimping here on the ingredients listed. Lots of mild, sweet Italian sausage in a tomato sauce that had pesto mixed with it. We could have shared it and had plenty. I had the Agnolotti- 9 of the pastas, with 3 separate sauces - pesto, cream, and tomato. They were arranged so that it displayed green, white, and red! I could have only 3 of the Agnolotti and be filled! Oh - and all meals came with choice of minestrone soup, house Italian salad or Cesar salad. I chose Cesar and my husband took the house. Dressings were homemade and excellent. His house had a nice slightly sweet Italian dressing- just the right amount too so that his salad wasn't swimming in dressing. We were too full to consider dessert- too bad because I'm sure they were tasty! The place is small, but worth waiting on a table. We were seated immediately, without a reservation. Real Italian. We started with the mussels, they were clean and laying in an amazing garlic cream sauce. I had the veal Marsala, and it was simply amazing. All pasta is made there, fresh and worth every calorie. My husband had a trio of ravioli that paired together wonderfully, and again zero disappointment. We will be back! Going by Yelp we've been wanting to try this place. The bread was basically a mini burger bun drenched in oil with minced garlic and bits of parsley flakes. The service was good but not so the food. We began with the mussels which were a little tough. I really had a taste for some really fresh and good pasta. The pasta was cooked perfectly but the dishes had no flavor. There is a reason why this place is almost a solid 5 . I am from the Northeast where Italian food is king. The pasta is homemade daily and the other dishes are amazing! Ok now the downside, the place is small, 18 or so tables and mega popular which equals long waits ( but worth it) the place opens up for dinner at at 5:00 on most days and you will see a line outside waiting for them to open. My favorites so far is the stuffed eggplant and the Veal Marcella. Staff is awesome as well. This place is the difference between eating fine dining, except for a reasonable price. My husband and I went to this restaurant for date night and it was AMAZING!! The atmosphere is very intimate and quaint and perfect for romance. The food as delicious and their Italian dressing was the best house made Italian dressing I've ever tasted. Now the food sold here is definitely not boxed. My favorite place to go when 'let's go out to eat tonight', never a hesitation it's Pasta Max! Always so many good choices on the menu and daily there are at least five specials to choose from. And the soups, YUM! The cream based soups are delicious, and will get it every time instead of a salad. Save room for dessert, great selections but the chocolate chip cheesecake is 'to die for'. Chef Doug makes it himself and it is soooo creamy. The owners are lovely people and take such pride in their business, it shows in every detail and every bite of your meal.
