We've eaten here twice and the food is delicious! It's a little pricey, but we get two meals from each plate! The bread is to die for!

Pros: Ambiance and Customers Service is stellar Cons: Not authentic Italian food, very greasy salty and buttery, I caught food poisoning with the muscles and was sick all night. As a native Rhode Islander and Italian American I am always checking out local Italian places. I was really hopefully I was going to love this place however it's a very Americanized version of Italian food. I find the food in this area to be very fattening and salty. However authentic Italian food is tasteful with out the overload of butter and salt. I think it was my fault to order seafood here knowing I'm from New England but I was hopeful. When we first arrived I thought how beautiful and quaint and this would be an awesome spot for a date. But the food was so disappointing I will not be back. I had the muscles and crab cake and I was sick within 30 minutes of leaving there. Until about 10:30pm. I don't understand why it's rated so high unless people just don't know what authentic Italian food tastes like. read more

Well it has been 4 years since I have last visited and sadly no improvement. Where to start? My wifes food was cold when it finally came out. Waitress made no,attempt to correct. service is very slow . Food was not good at all felt like it was a frozen fast food franchise. Also the bread they give you prior to your meal tastes like store bought rolls covered in greasy butter As much I as I want this place to be great it s not. I don't recommend. read more

Food is always good but they may get your order wrong. And I don't recommend the scallops.

I have been here twice and both times it has been fantastic! The service was excellent and the food was delicious (and not just because I was starving)! The place is also in a great part of the old town and fun to go to. read more

Great food. Great service. Amazing pasta. Quaint atmosphere. Good prices. Very hospitable. Best restaurant in Henry County

Love this place! I've gotten a few different dishes and every time they've been lovely. My biggest complaint is that the host stand is at the back of the restaurant so it's a bit confusing when you first enter, especially if it's busy. read more

First time was a week ago ... Not my taste, service was good but , The food ?????????. I might give it another try. People were really nice.

Holy crap y'all this place is amazing. I want to tell you to stay away because it's so fattening, and probably has calories galore, but it's so worth it. I'd get a full gut for this food. So when you order you get a basket of garlic drenched rolls that seriously made me question any other bread I've ever had. So yea that was amazing. Then I had the veggie pizza with sweet peppers, mushrooms and some other good stuff and good GAWD *insert raising hands and praying hands emoji* it was good. Matter of fact, it was perfect. This place is perfect. read more

First time trying Pasta Max (8/23/16) and was pretty good. My son and I both had the lasagna while my significant other had the chicken alfredo. We both enjoyed the flavor of the lasagna but did not enjoy the fact that there was barely any meat in the meat sauce, no ricotta cheese and also not a traditional 2 layer lasagna......instead they only did one layer. Significant other did not enjoy his chicken alfredo, he ate a small portion of it and I suspect the rest is going in the garbage LOL.......normally when you eat at an Italian place and order an alfredo dish they use fettuccine or have even seen linguine pasta used but never in my life have I seen a restaurant use egg noodles in a chicken alfredo dish! We all were definite fans of the rolls, they were sitting inside of an olive oil with garlic, herbs and parrmesan cheese yum!! The question is whether they make them homemade or buy them? 3 entrees, 3 soft drinks & two tiramisu desserts, grand total $70 plus a $10 tip! Should also mention that you should expect metered parking either next to the restaurant or up the street, $1 for 2 hours. Hey he said he wanted something different for dinner tonight, egg noodles in a chicken alfredo dish was definitely different (not in a good way) so guess he got what he asked for LOL! read more

I've been going to Pasta Max since Douglas Zitz first opened in the restaurant in the Express Inn in North Stockbridge. Their new location off the McDonough square is awesome, and it's probably the most romantic spot in the area. If you can, definitely get the small table for two in the window. Their menu has changed over the years, but it's always centered on pastas, salads, and pizzas. For an appetizer, the steamed mussels are a particular treat (especially if you "sop" the garlic rolls in the wine sauce. The agnolotti is as aesthetically appeasing as it is tasty, but my personal favorite is BBQ pizza. My wife loves the pecan encrusted chicken, and it's reminiscent of a dish that used to be served at Truman's (off the McDonough Square) before they went out of business. Their wine and beer selection is adequate, but I recommend getting a cocktail before you arrive if that's your sorta thing. read more

The food is outstanding and the staff is professional. The atmosphere is cozy and the is authentic.

I LOVE PASTA MAX!!! I'm from Ohio but I come down to McDonough once in a while to visit one of our other work facilities. When I do, I always try and make Pasta Max a mandatory stop. It's a popular stop for a lot of management folk from my company. This will be my second time eating here and each time, the food is awesome!! First time, I just had the freshly made Fettuccine Alfredo, which is nice and creamy and oh so satisfying! This time, I got the special which was a Stuffed Trout, which was divine!! The stuffing was made of crab and shrimp and was very yummy! The trout was really good too, perfectly cooked! The owner is a world renowned chef from what I've heard and you can definitely tell! For pricing, I went both times for lunch and they were very reasonable, especially for the quality of the food! The main attraction for me though was the freshly baked garlic parmesan rolls!! Each is fresh and so soft, with a TON of garlic and parmesan. Hopefully you don't plan on making out with anyone after since you'll smell like garlic, unless he/she loves garlic, then it'd be GAME ON!!! =) Anyhoo, if you're in the area, definitely make this a stop, you won't regret it! read more

I found this place by accident and it's a hidden gem. It's small, quaint and very charming. First the waitresses are extremely friendly and they make you feel at home. The service was quick and the food was really good.. The garlic rolls are scrumptious and your have to be careful and limit yourself. As an appetizer I had the bruschetta and I never had it toasted before. This was a new twist for me and I enjoyed it. For my entree I ordered the Penne Rigate and the portion was quite large. I only ate about a fourth of it but that's probably because of the rolls. My dinner was hearty and delicious. I would recommend this place as its a great place to have dinner with friends or your significant other. read more

This is a nice quaint restaurant located in downtown Mcdonough. The look and feel of this place set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. They also will create your own idea of a food item. Lets say if you want shrimp and chicken added to your pasta outside of their own creation, they will make it for you. I loved it. Love, love, love Pasta Max! Have had many things on their menu from the lasagna to the chicken raviolis. Every thing I've had has been amazing and a very generous portion! Salad is great and bread is amazing. The restaurant is a very small, intimate room with character. When you visit here, try the cheesecake, too! Parking at the restaurant is iffy, as it is off the square in McDonough. But it's an easy walk from most any parking space you find. read more

A little bitty place that we drove by without noticing, but thanks to Yelp we went back around the block. We sure are glad we did! My handsome husband loved his lasagna! I loved-loved my penne rigate - actually had more meat than pasta! The garlic rolls were dropping with butter and garlic! Try their house salad dressing - you won't be sorry! A touch of a sweet taste and a lot of delicious! Great friendly service! We would definitely be regulars if we lived nearby! read more

Love this restaurant. Food is good and the service is excellent. Every time we go the food is always good.

Quaint but small cafe in McDonough, GA. Servings were a good portion size and the flavor was decent. I ordered Agnolotti (think flat ravioli) in 3 sauces. The cream sauce was very good. The marinara was a little bland but there was plenty. The pesto was good but a little over salted. The edges of some of the pasta was hard which detracted from the overall flavor. The calamari was a huge portion and too much for one person. Overall a nice Italian restaurant in the Atlanta area. read more

Always excellent food! Totally love it. The fish is always fresh and tasty. Staff and chef are great as well.

I've been coming here for years and the food is always amazing. Although I do sense a hint of prejudice, I realized that they don't seem to greet everyone equally. Depending on your race, they will have you standing at the door when there are tables available, yet I've notice that they will greet others by announcing they can sit anywhere they like. I was even told by the host to go to the counter to get seated, only to allow the next guess to sit where they like. read more

By all means this is my favorite Italian restaurant in the Mcdonough Georgia area We have been there twice so far and will be returning as we just moved to Mcdonough from Northern California read more

When we arrived we weren't sure what to do. I asked, what seemed to be someone who worked there, and she said have a seat. We were greeted, by a waiter, about 3 minutes later and handed a menu. I ordered the sweet tea with peppered pizza and my husband ordered pink lemonade with a sausage sandwich. A few minutes later the bread and beverages, we ordered, arrived. The bread looked liked doughnuts and tasted like garlic knots...delicious! Our food arrived about 15 minutes later and tasted fabulous. I loved the Greek salad that came with my husband sandwich and he couldn't get enough of my pizza. The vegetables were fresh and you could tell because of the slight crunch with each bite. My husband was speechless as he ate which means his sandwich was to die for! You must check out this restaurant! read more

Great food-anxious to get back to in restaurant dining. Delivery is good but the atmosphere is lacking!
