5 years ago, we would visit Locust Grove often to visit a family member while they lived in the area, and would often dine at Lovin' Oven. Today, the pizza is just like how we remember it!! They have MORE THAN GREAT pizza. They make their dough fresh daily, and use quality ingredients. I would like more sauce, but next time I can remember to ask for extra. They also put this parmesan mix on the dough which makes it even better!! They have good tea, and have a great atmosphere! You feel like you are in an old brick-walled pizza establishment. The staff are attentive, also! (Pro tip: Get a seat towards the front to watch the trains go by). If you are in the area, I highly recommend you stopping by. Great food!

We stopped into Lovin Oven around 5:30 on a Friday evening, hoping for a quick bite before heading to an Easter service. It was pretty busy, but we were seated right away, so far, so good. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. Drinks (two waters and three kid cokes) took about 20 minutes to arrive, and our food came out even later. The mini garlic breadsticks and cheese bread hit the table around 6:10, and our two slices (The 1893 and the Lovin Spicy Southern) didn't show up until 6:25. For just two slices and a couple of apps, the wait felt excessive especially with kids in tow and a time crunch. The food itself was underwhelming. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out either. Definitely not the "wow" factor I was hoping for when searching for a go-to hometown pizza joint for our family Friday nights. That said, the service was friendly and the place has a local vibe I really wanted to love. I just wish the food and timing matched the warm welcome. Still on the hunt for that perfect neighborhood pizza spot.

Forgot to take pics, but stopped there for the 2nd time on a road trip. Love the small town "old-time" downtown area - restaurant is in a cool old building. Salads are fresh. First time we visited I had a meatball sub and hubs had a calzone. Huge portions - both delicious! This time we ordered pizza by the slice - love that you can get a slice or two of any of the specialty pizzas on the menu rather than ordering a whole pie! The slices are large - one was plenty for me; hubs had two - we tried "The Engineer" and the "Margherite" - several pizza names are train-related - there is an old train station right across the street and the train runs by! Thanks to Christina for excellent service!! We'll be back when we're passing through again.

Had a couple of slices. Overall, excellent slices. Great flavor, good cheese, good crust, good sauce. Could've used just a little more sauce as it was just a hair dry, but that could be because it was a slice not a whole pie. The only thing I would suggest would be a little bit better bubble management. One of my slices had a huge bubble, but the slices were huge to start with.

We placed our order online which was easy to do. Once we arrived to pick up our food, we were greeted and assisted right away. We placed an order for cheesy bread in house. The service was great. They have in door and outdoor seat and plenty of it. The calzones were huggggeee! They were sooooo good. And the cheesy bread was very good as well! I can't wait to go back.

Great shop to stop in for a bite. Speedy service and nice staff. The au jus for the panini was full of flavorful and wish I had more. The bread was perfect for soaking up all the juice. Friends loved the pizza, but didn't personally try it so don't have much to say.

The food was very dry. I don't usually leave reviews but the pizza was not good. The pizza was mostly crust, they could have at least spread the sauce and cheese out more. The servers are very nice though the food on the other hand not my favorite. Also the sandwiches are dry. Maybe I just came on a bad day.

This is my favorite pizza spot on Locust Grove. They have local craft beer on tap, a great variety of pizzas and always great service here! It is in downtown locust Grove so you can park in the lot beside the train platform (out front) or in the back parking lot behind the building. This place is great for kids and they have an outdoor patio if that's your style.

It's a really nice pizza spot in Locust Grove. They have family trivia night on Wednesday's and the calzones are amazing. The calzones are also pretty big so you might be able to share it. Parking is limited in Locust Grove to try to get here early. They offer outside seating and have beers on draft or bottle. You can dine in or carry out and they make the food in the middle of the room basically. It was pretty cool watching the entire cooking process. It's kid friendly and fairly priced.

Came on a Friday night, surprised to see they closed at 9pm as the place was pretty full. Place appeared to be pretty clean Got the cheese sticks they were solid came with uninspiring typical marina sauce. Tried to order the taco pizza but they no longer offer that which was a huge bummer. Ended up getting the bbq pizza and it was pretty good. Not too saucy which was great. Customer service overall was solid, very solid pizza place, would come back.

The Pizza is amazing, the staff are not pleasant or friendly, in fact quite rude. But the pizza is worth it if u want a take away.

Food was good. Our waitress had the personality of a washcloth. They were out of mushrooms. And the wait for the food took a long time.

Love this place! The locomotive and taco pizza are the family favorites. Eventually we'll try some other kinds but these are just too good!

If you are from up north and you miss proper New York pizza, go to I Love New York Pizza in…read moreMcDonough. Seriously. Go. My partner is originally from New York, I'm originally from Connecticut, and we are both very fussy about pizza. We are the kind of people who will drive an hour from Conyers just to get a pizza here, with no other errands attached. That alone should tell you everything. We usually get a huge pepperoni pie and share it. They do have slices, and the slices are excellent too, but I recommend getting the whole pie if you can. Every pizza we have had here has been picture-perfect. Perfect crust, perfect sauce, perfect cheese, properly cooked toppings, and that real New York-style balance of crispy, chewy, melty, slightly floppy, and dangerously hot. The crust has the right crisp and chew. The sauce is flavorful without being too much. The cheese has that classic low-moisture mozzarella richness, and it is seasoned beautifully before baking. That is one of those details a lot of places miss. Up north, the cheese is not just bland melted cheese sitting there doing nothing. It has flavor. It has oregano. It has seasoning. It has personality. I Love New York Pizza gets that right. The first time we went, the owner was there, the family was there, and people were speaking Italian behind the counter. Then I saw the case full of slices and immediately thought, "Okay, we are safe. We are in good hands." You can tell just by looking at the pizza that it is right. Is this the greatest New York pizza you will ever have in your life? Maybe not. Is it possibly the best New York-style pizza you are going to get in this area? Absolutely. To me, it tastes like the kind of standard, classic, universally enjoyable New York pizza you would bring someone to for their first real slice experience. We almost always dine in, and there is always enough to take leftovers home. The staff is great, the service is great, the timing is great, and the consistency is honestly impressive. We drive an hour hoping to get the same perfect pizza we had last time, and they deliver every time. I will be honest: I come here for the pizza. I do not really care for the garlic knots, and I have not been especially attached to the non-pizza items I have tried. But if you have a serious up-north pizza craving, that does not matter. Get the pizza. Get the whole pie. Let it set for a minute if you have the patience, because it comes out burning hot. Or risk it all and burn your mouth on the first bite like I sometimes do. Worth it. I Love New York Pizza is the spot. Picky Northerner approved.

Good pizza. Good entertainment…read more Good local brews on tap. Good service. What more needs to be said. Only down side is traffic in the area going for music on a Friday night.

When I walked in, the gentleman working at the oven greeted me and asked if I was picking up or dining in. I told him I was dining in and started looking for a seat at the counter. Unfortunately, the area where I was about to sit was dirty, and the other available spaces were occupied. I figured I would wait for someone to come back so I could ask for the counter to be cleaned. A woman then came out from the back to take my order. As she approached, she already appeared irritated, but I chose not to take it personally because we all have difficult days. However, when she got closer, she asked, "Can I help you?" in a tone that matched her seemingly unpleasant demeanor. Her attitude immediately put me off. I was so taken aback that I actually forgot to ask about having the counter cleaned and simply asked for a menu. Instead of handing it to me politely, she slung it toward me in a manner that felt incredibly disrespectful. I felt as though I were a dog begging for food. At that moment, I decided I was not going to spend my hard-earned money somewhere I felt unwelcome. I picked up my bag, reminded myself that I have a choice in where I spend my money, and walked out. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, it will be my last. I genuinely wanted to try this place because my coworkers spoke highly of the food. However, good food is not enough to make me overlook poor customer service and a lack of basic courtesy. First impressions matter, and so does how you treat your customers. I walked in ready to support a local business and enjoy a good lunch, but I left without ordering anything because of how I was treated. I refuse to accept that kind of treatment, and I will gladly take my business somewhere I feel welcomed and respected.
