I loved my food and I can't wait to be back! My friend and I had the creamy crab gratin (appetizer - I recommend), mentai cream Japanese style (my favorite) and salmon spinach cream sauce. I left wanting to try everything else on their favorites list. They give you a dinner roll + butter + house salad per person to start.
Stopped by on a Thursday night @ around 7pm and there was no wait time! Had a pleasant surprise with all of our dishes!! Workers were extremely nice. It is a little hot in there. Mentai Cream pasta: 8/10 the flavor is insane it's so good and creamy yet light at the same time. Not too salty. Would've given it a perfect score but I love my protein so I wish there was something else added in other than cod roe and mushrooms. Tomato Cream sauce: 7/10 simple dish by the name but the flavor was exceptional. Sauce is a little sweet, but surprisingly it worked well. The pasta to shrimp ratio was off for my bf, only served w 6 pieces of shrimp. Crab Gratin: 9/10 delicious I wish there was a bigger serving
I came here on a Friday night with some friends. It is a relatively small restaurant and it was very busy. Luckily we didn't need to wait. The staff were nice and friendly. I got the bacon and mushroom with Gorgonzola cream sauce. I enjoyed this dish and they had big pieces of bacon. Your meal also comes with bread and salad. Pasta is al dente. I would come back and would like to try some of their other pasta dishes.
The service is great and the quality of food was good! We really liked how the pasta was cooked and how much flavor each type had! We got the bolognese and the salmon cream pasta! It also came with bread and salad Both had great flavor and we liked the salmon cream more

I've been to both the Tokyo and Artesia locations, and they've always been consistently great, so I had high expectations for the Torrance location. Happy to say it delivered. Had to order the staples--the mentai cream pasta and the uni pasta. Both were packed with flavor, and the portions were just right. We gobbled those up in 10 minutes. We also tried the crab gratin, which was perfectly cheesy and piping hot... a little *too* hot since I immediately burned my tongue. This is exactly what I mean when Im asking for noods.

Pasta e Pasta is in the same huge plaza as Best Buy and Tokyo Central. The dining space is a bit small, so the wait can get pretty long during peak meal time. We went at 5:30 PM on Sunday as a party of 2, and were lucky enough to be seated at a table immediately. There's also an option for counter seating. By the time we were done eating, a pretty long line had formed so we were glad we opted for an early dinner. Each pasta entree comes with warm bread and a small salad as an appetizer. We decided on sharing the Uni Pasta ($28) as well as the Mentai Cream Japanese Style Pasta ($22). After ordering, our dishes came out in about 15 minutes, and they were able to bring us some small sharing plates as well. Both of the dishes were so tasty! The Uni Pasta was slightly more mellow whereas the Mentai Cream was a bit saltier. The pasta noodles soaked up the sauce well but still had the perfect amount of chew and bite to it. My favorite of the two would be the Uni Pasta, as the Mentai Cream had a stronger ocean-y taste. However, they complement each other well, and I would recommend sharing dishes so that you can taste a little of everything! The ambiance was lively but intimate, and the dishes were presented beautifully. Service was kind and efficient, and the staff welcomes and thanks everyone that enters/leaves. One of my main critiques is that the tables in the center aisle (where we were seated) are a bit small, so our space was slightly crowded with the extra addition of our sharing plates. Not a huge issue, but I did take note of it while dining. I was also seated facing the kitchen, and it was a bit distracting seeing the staff go in and out so frequently. This could be solved by adding a curtain in the door leading to the kitchen, but it would probably be a huge nuisance to the staff. Again, not a huge issue, but just something I noted. The best solution to these critiques would probably be to expand the restaurant itself, which maybe they'll do soon! Will definitely recommend this spot. Great new pasta spot with traditional dishes and some new ones. Service was fast although they were clearly busy, we were able to sit at the bar. You can see your pasta being made and there are so many varieties of you are pescatarian or vegetarian as well.
Pasta E Pasta Allegro opened up in Torrance a couple months ago so go check it out if you love Japanese-style pasta. With other locations in DTLA & Cerritos, this place is a staple for Japanese-style Italian. With lots of creamy options like mental (cod roe) cream and uni pasta, you'll love all the umami flavors. Note that it's all noodles, that looks like angel hair pasta and there's no main entrees like chicken parm or anything like that but some of the pasta dishes like bolognese have big chunks of meat to satiate your protein needs. I liked the iced Earl grey tea as well.
Cute Japanese pasta spot in Torrance. Easy parking. Went in with a party of 6, check in on Yelp recommended! Their pasta comes with a small salad in house dressing and bread roll (mochi like). The shrimp was a little overcooked, too well done imo. The mentaiko cream was the best voted in my group! The AC was weak, really hot inside. I hope they can fix that or turn it up.

I ordered the mentai cream pasta (excellent choice) because I like mentaiko! My party ordered the Puttanesca and the Bolognese. They enjoyed their pastas too. The entrees have a good amount of pasta in the dish. Each entree comes with a salad and a roll. I ordered a creamy crabmeat gratin for an appetizer. The gratin had great reviews, but honestly, I found it too salty and the crabmeat was very seafood pungent. Next visit I will try the Jidori chicken gizzard confit. That may be a better choice! My friend ordered a black lager and enjoyed it very much. The servers came around constantly to refill the water glasses and they were all extremely friendly! Thumbs up to this place!
Came here after work for dinner for my nieces bf graduation and passing his RT boards. We like to try different Japanese pastas and this place was a quick drive from work. The pasta was good but my wife's dish was delicious I was like should've ordered it lol. I had the fruti di mare which is the pasta with noddles and seafood in a garlic sauce, it was good but like I said my wife's was better which was the Mentai cream Japanese style pasta. Will definitely come back to try more pasta. Nice restaurant setup. We arrived at 6 pm waited about 20-30 minutes to be seated. Hostesses were very kind and the food came out fast!!
Omg! Why didn't I try this place sooner? For starters, everyone was so nice. Service was great! Food was delicious. I ordered the mentai cream Japanese style pasta and I really wanted to save some for leftovers but I ate that whole plate. If I was at home I would have licked the bowl clean. Ambiance was nice. There's limited seating and it was rather quite warm inside but other than that, overall experience was great! We waited about 20 mins and arrived around 5:40pm. I highly recommend this place.
My friend is a frequent customer and although it is a long ways away from me, I would make a point to come back again and again. We both ordered the Mentai cream Japanese style - her favorite and now mine too! Pasta was al dente, sauce was savory and creamy. Served with a refreshing salad and bread. First timer. Arrive at 5:15p on a Saturday and the place was already filling up. Only one tiny table for 2 available. 2 four tops still open but those are saved for larger parties. At that time the counter was wide open with around 12 seats available so we chose the counter. Within a few minutes all tables were filled and 2 more couples at that counter. Point being this place seems to be very popular. Very friendly staff with helpful recommendations. We settled on the Traditional Bolognese with Eggplant $21 (top 5 most popular per our server) and the Mentai Cream $22 (top 3). The most popular is their Uni $28. I sorta regret not getting the Uni as I could've compared it to Unico's. The first few bites of my Mentai were a bit surprising. The cod roe was very salty and there was a little spicyness that I wasn't expecting. I'm guessing they only use small spaghetti noodles in their dishes which isn't the end of the world. I'm sure it helps them deliver dishes from kitchen to table efficiently as our meals arrived relatively quick despite the rush of customers. I polished off all of my dish but would try something different if I return. The Bolognese was more my style and I was lucky I got to enjoy a few bites as the portions were big for lighter appetites. Decor was casual and there were several tables with young kids. Only one table tucked in the corner accommodates about 6 with several 4 tops and 2 tops. Also plenty of counter spots. The flavors were good, service was friendly & efficient. Busy spot so plan accordingly. They have a tablet to check in when it's full. We arrived with the first wave so walked right in. Final thought: Is Japanese style pasta that popular? There's 3 Japanese pasta spots within 3 miles. (Haven't tried the place inside Tokyo Central yet. It's in the same parking lot) read more

Fantastic meal and huge portions! The salmon and spinach pasta was delicious, and the accompanying salad and bread were excellent. The portion size was so big that I ended up taking half of it to go. Excellent food and well worth it. read more
Very disappointed! I was looking forward to trying something new, unfortunately Pasta e Pasta fell very short of my expectations. I expected to try amazing homemade pasta, instead I watched the server continually open boxes of BARILLA (some of the cheapest market pasta you can buy) . Makes me concerned what other cheap ingredients they are using to make their sauces. Makes no sense on paying over $20 for a bowl of store bought pasta. read more

Came back with the kiddies because we liked the pasta so much! Service was quick and they were very friendly and attentive, like the last time. Great place with lots of seating. We decided to have the beef ragu for the kids, carbonara for the hubby and mentai for me. I have to say the mental was really good. Pasta cooked perfectly...again! Sauce was nice and creamy and kind of spicy how I like. Kids and hubby also enjoyed their pasta. Will be back again! read more
Very good pasta. It looks like they use Barilla pasta. I got the carbonara and loved it. Super creamy. My husband ordered the ragu but got the bolognese instead. The waiter wrote down the wrong order but they fixed it right away and let us keep the bolognese. My husband liked the ragu way better as he didn't like the eggplant in the bolognese. We came on a Friday before 6 and was able to get seated right away. But after 6pm it got busy quick! Place is kinda small so I say groups of 4 or less is probably best. read more
Imagine my sheer joy when Pasta E Pasta decided to expand to Torrance. For those who don't know, Pasta E Pasta is probably one of the best Japanese pasta places out there. Eat here before it gets too popular. Located next to Tokyo Central on PCH, you can check in and shop next door if the line's too long. We were fortunately seated within 5 minutes despite all the tables being full. Anyway, Uni pasta is classically good, and the creaminess of the sauce isn't overpowering. This is a crowd favorite for good reason. My wife and I also shared a salmon spinach cream pasta which was creamier and heavier but still pretty good! My parents got a seafood pasta and tuna tomato sauce like pasta which both looked pretty good. So in case you don't know, you gotta rotate through the menu to experience all the deliciousness Pasta E Pasta has to offer. Everything is cooked well and seasoned well and sauced well, I have zero complaints. So if you can't go to Pasta E Pasta in Little Tokyo or Cerritos, then try it out in Torrance, it's just as good! read more
Pasta E Pasta is now in the South Bay! This restaurant specializes in Italian style pasta with a Japanese twist. Being a fan of Japanese spaghetti, I was so happy to see this spot open in Torrance yesterday! They are currently in their soft opening phase but already serving many of their classic dishes such as Uni Pasta, Mentai Cream Japanese Style Pasta, Beef Ragu Sauce Spaghetti and Carbonara. Pasta prices range from $18 to $25. All of their pastas are served with bread and salad. For my first visit, I got Carbonara to-go. I was pleasantly surprised that they included the salad and bread roll with my to-go order. The Carbonara serving was generous with several strips of bacon. I really enjoyed the flavor of the carbonara. The egg cream sauce was luscious and rich. The bacon gave a nice savory touch and it was just right, not too salty, not too bland. This pasta was absolutely satisfying! I am looking forward to trying their dishes here. Their Bacon and Mushrooms Japanese style sauce and Beef Ragu Sauce spaghetti are calling my name ;). Love that this is now open in Torrance! Lots of open parking space near the Torrance airport. Small quiet entrance and simple design. We took the corner bar sitting since it was full by 5:30pm on Sunday. Ordering was quick and simple: uni pasta and mentai cream pasta. Comes each with a salad and bread. Pasta comes in creamy and warm. Definitely hit the spot for me and was happy ! Come back it's going to be amazing with there amazing pasta! read more
I've wanted to try Pasta E Pasta in Little Tokyo for several years--I happened to be in the South Bay and remembered that they had expanded down here, so finally got to have a meal. This location is on the smaller size, but nothing felt too tight or packed. We were seated immediately around 1PM on a Friday and got our food within around 20 minutes. Everything was fresh and very clearly cooked to order (I did think a few leaves on the salad were a bit wilty but it didn't bother me too much). The food was delicious! I ordered the ragu and thought it was just so rich and hearty, and exactly what I was looking for in a comfort meal. The beef pieces were super flavorful and tender. The portion was huge too! My husband got their famous uni pasta and also loved it. He would recommend it to any uni fans. All dishes come with a side salad and piece of bread. The pasta dishes are on the pricier side ($20-$30 per dish) but really are delicious and extremely filling--we saw several people ask for to go boxes. I think this place is perfect for when you're in the mood for wafu pasta. read more
Nothing but Perfection at pasta e pasta, and I don't say this lightly. Move over spoon house, move over unico tokyo pasta, a new king of Japanese pasta is in town. It's a small store in a trip mall next to the tokyo central. Parking is very easy to find. Seats are limited so reserve or get here early, or you can expect a 30 minute or more depending on how many people are in front of you. It's a small space so not too suited for parties over 8. Service was impeccable and staff members were very kind. Food was hot and out quickly. But the best part really is the level of the food. I think a bad pasta leaves you feeling fat and bloated. And though these pastas surely have plenty of oil and cheese in them, the flavors are balanced so well and it captures you in the first bite. We got the crab gratin, seafood pasta, bolognese, and mentai cream pasta. The seafood gratin was nutty and had plenty of umami. The parsley on top gave the extra freshness. Despite so much cheese in this dish I didn't think it was heavy at all because of the nuttiness of the roasted breadcrumbs. Perfect dish. Mentai cream pasta was a little spicy, very creamy and well seasoned. 10/10 no notes. Bolognese had lots of meat, slightly sweet tomato sauce from the San marzano tomatoes. 10/10 no notes. The seafood pasta was also great. Seafood was tender. All pastas came at the same perfect al dente doneness. Really, if you're coming here the question isn't what's good, it's what you're in the mood for because everything will be to spec and more. read more

All pasta comes with salad and bread which were okay. Got the uni cream, pescatore Bianca, and puttanesca. All the pasta tasted fine. Added some spicy oil to the pescatore which gave it a little kick. Service was friendly and quick. Overall 3.5. read more
absolutely in love with every visit we've had at the little tokyo location so of course i was so excited that one opened up closer. we both ordered our favorite dish, the mentai cream pasta and it was delicious. although we found that our experiences in little tokyo were more flavorful, we still enjoyed it. the noodles were cooked perfectly al dente and the portion was very great. it made amazing leftovers the following day. i love that they start you off with a salad and bread to pair with your meal. the service was exceptional as well, can't wait to come back. read more

Finally got around to trying pasta e pasta. Didn't love everything we got but their tarako pasta is worth the visit! +located in same plaza as Tokyo Central on PCH and Hawthorne, tucked to the side. Plenty of parking available +got to the restaurant 11:45am on Sunday and was seated right away but the restaurant was packed and there was a wait little past noon so come early! +comes with complimentary salad and bread +we ordered the following: Gizzard confit: 3/5 - it was good but felt like it could be better. The gizzard was good but felt like it could have used some black pepper or herbs. Crab gratin 3/5 - be Chanel sauce was rich and heavy on flavor. Didn't dislike it but one and done. Won't be ordering again Tarako spaghetti 5/5 - I loveeee mentaiko / tarako spaghetti and they do it right here. This spaghetti isn't cream based but used garlic butter so it don't kill the codroe flavor and the garlic enhanced the flavor. Would order again! Mushroom bacon spaghetti 3/5 - I really wanted to like this one because I love spoon house's mushroom clam one but didn't love this one. Maybe it's because I'm not a bacon person and unlike spoonhouse it doesn't have the umami since it lacked the depth in broth from clam. I was bummed bout this one. Arrabiata 3/5 - I only had small bite of this but the tomato sauce isn't typical tomato sauce. Wasn't bad but didn't love it either. I want to come back and try their uni or mentai cream pasta next time! read more

Such a lovely experience! I used to frequent the Cerritos location until this place opened up! I always get the Uni Pasta and this place always delivers. The pasta is cooked very well and is topped with a rich uni infused sauce and fresh uni for garnish.The staff is respectful and accommodating as always. The tables and cutlery were clean, as well as the floors. They do takeout as well if you're looking to enjoy their food at home. read more

Got the Beef Ragu Sauce Spaghetti. Very delicious. The pasta was al dente. The sauce was well balanced with richness, seasoning and garlic. The meat was like a pot roast. Nicely browned, well seasoned and fork tender. There were also mushrooms in this dish. The meal includes a salad and a roll. The salad dressing was somewhat creamy with a nice hint of garlic flavor. The roll was probably a sour dough with medium consistency. Dining is available at a table or the counter. Service was very friendly. They greet when you arrive and say goodbye when you leave. No issues on parking since they share the same parking lot as Tokyo Central and Best Buy. read more

Sunday night dinner with friends from SF. I ordered uni pasta and it was delicious. Perfect flavor and seasoning. Friends also liked the food they ordered. My uni pasta came with salad and bread. Went to pasta e pasta over the weekend. If you're torn between the classics and something adventurous, you can't go wrong with these two: -Uni Pasta: Absolute luxury. It's creamy, briny, and incredibly rich. If you love sea urchin, this is a "must-order"--it's easily the best dish on the menu. -Bolognese: Deeply savory and traditional. The meat sauce is tender and coats the al dente noodles perfectly. It's pure comfort in a bowl. Phenomenal fusion. The portions are generous and the flavors are spot on. I'll be back! read more

I am so excited that my favorite Japanese pasta restaurant has finally opened here. I used to go out of my way to eat at Pasta e Pasta in Little Tokyo and Cerritos, so I had been looking forward to this opening. I visited during the soft opening, and the taste did not disappoint. I ordered the Squid Uni pasta. The squid here is cooked, unlike the raw-style squid at Spoon House. Personally, I prefer the squid at Spoon House, but everything else about the dish was absolutely delicious. I have tried many different dishes at various Pasta e Pasta locations, and honestly, everything is consistently good. Usually, once I find something I like, I tend to order the same thing every time. But at this restaurant, every pasta sounds and tastes so good that it actually takes me a long time to decide what to order. Speaking of timing, the food came out perfectly. The service was excellent as well. Even though it was a soft opening, our server was a very experienced and incredibly kind woman. I also loved the atmosphere. The calm, black-toned interior creates a relaxing and sophisticated feel. I am truly happy to have another favorite restaurant here in the South Bay. One warning: everything looks and smells so good that you might start eating before taking photos. If you want pictures for posting, make sure you remember to take them first! read more
