    Harame Skewer
    Jeanette C.

I'm writing an updated review since I actually received everything I ordered in my last visit. Coincidentally got Logan again as my server and appreciated his due diligence in making sure all ordered items arrived in a timely fashion. In no particular order, I remember eating & drinking the: Yuzu Sour, Torikawa Chips, Harame Skewers, Momo Kizokuyaki w/tare, Tsukune, and Hatsu. I was surprised, the Tsukune really impressed me. Lots of yakitori places mess this up by drying out the meat. A nearly perfect skewer I don't have a picture of because I ate it so fast. I will definitely get more than one order of this next time. The texture of chicken heart however, took me a couple of bites to get into, but I ended up liking it. I was glad I tried something new! Both the Harame beef & their chicken thigh + green onion skewers were safe and delicious choices to order again. A good & healthy reminder for all, including myself - that not receiving skewers that I highlighted in my last/2nd visit was an isolated case. I noticed that prices have really shot up since their opening. Given the range of skewers, I'd really like to see a variation of pricing other than $14 for 2 or $8 for 2. I think this place could really fill up if they added a couple of their basic/tried and true skewers on the happy hour menu. If the dinner prices were slightly lower, I'd imagine they'd build a loyal customer base with more regulars. Traditionally, yakitori isn't exactly the kind of food where the bill skyrockets. But I do understand why it's priced the way it is. The yakitori masters are a true credit to their craft!

2.5 stars Stopped by Torikizoku after work hoping for a quick, easy dinner. The Yelp photos and reviews didn't exactly sell me but sake and chicken skewers sounded like a safe bet. I also managed to miss happy hour by literally minutes (walked in at 6:33...it ends at 6:30, of course). Ordered the Kubota sake, tako karaage, tori Q, and mune kizokuyaki. Total came out to about $44 with 20% tip. Food wise...pretty underwhelming. The tako karaage was chewy and didn't taste fresh and the oil had this off flavor that kind of ruined it for me. The skewers were just okay, nothing bad but nothing I'd go back for either. Overall, kinda regret stopping in. It wasn't terrible, just probably wouldn't return.

Start with what you absolutely must try: · Chicken skin chips -- we ordered two rounds · Chicken wings -- incredibly juicy · Nankotsu karaage -- great, but best enjoyed quickly while it's hot · Yuzu ramen -- outstanding yuzu flavor paired with a rich, thick chicken broth My advice: stick with the chicken items -- that's clearly what they do best. I'd pass on the chicken meatballs and okonomiyaki. Service was a bit shaky -- our order got mixed up or sent to another table, and one server kept approaching at awkward moments, even trying to take our sake bottle before we were done. That said, the overall vibe was good, and parking is easy to find.

Stopped by this location because I heard they had great skewers. I ordered karaage, steak and chicken skewers and onigiri. I ordered my food to go because I didn't have time to dine but they did inform me it's not a typical thing they do however they are on DoorDash and Uber Eats..the space is rather small but it is lively and was a full house when I visited. The staff that took my order was really helpful and welcoming which i appreciate on a first visit because I love a nice knowledgeable person. When I got home I was surprised of the small portions but excited to dig in. The karaage was juicy however needed a bit more flavor. The skewers was the star of the show! Amazing steak full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Unfortunately the onigiri was rather smaller than expected but I couldn't even enjoy because it was burnt. I was so surprised that they would even prepare, and box up a product of this low quality. After looking at other photos from their videos and social media I know this wasn't how it was supposed to be prepared or presented. Not sure if I would return especially for how much I paid at this establishment.

The restaurant was a little hard to find because of the way the building laid out, but there's a lot of parking by Chili's or Walmart. Reservations were easy to book through Open Table, and we were seated right away. Our waiter was patient with us while my friends and I were looking at the menu. I love the yakitori style because you get to try so many different dishes and sauces. My favorite dishes were the cucumber salad, chicken meatballs, and harami beef. Definitely would recommend to get the melon soda float!

Small simple menu compared to Torihei (no beef tongue here), but it has a very spacious and modern dining room and an open kitchen with bar seating all around. Shitake, harame beef skewers, agedashi tofu, takoyaki all tasted fantastic. One caveat is if you sit at the bar it can get very smoky so bring a mask. Second caveat is each item comes with 2 skewers ($8 or $14) and you cannot pick and choose 2 different skewers even from the same price category-- makes no sense to me. You must get 2 skewers of the same item. That's why I'm giving them 3 stars. Also, as others have mentioned, the food is quite salty.

March ice cream imagawa yaki .. the imagawa yaki part was.. dry and a bit disappointing. Recommend the hojicha pudding over this one

Went during the week night, right after they opened. They had happy hour food and the yakisoba off the HH menu was very good. Overall, all the yakitori was very good and staff was very attentive and helpful. Defiantly recommend making reservation, if you want to go eat anytime after 6pm

I expected so much more and it was a bit of a let down. It seems very popular though and we had to go a few minutes before opening so that we could join a line that was first to sit. Food is ok, good but nothing outstanding. The most interesting for me was the shishito peppers. But nothing that would make me crave to come back. Service is nice , polite and quiet. Place is typically Japanese. Large parking lot available.

Food - Small portions - Delicious flavor - Ramen bowl was flavorful - Skewers were good - Takoyaki was okay Location - Restaurant has a lot of seating - Interior is very calming and full of wood decor - Normally better if you have reservation - We walked in and got lucky Service - Host and servers were very nice! - They didn't rush us and let us talk - They gave us recommendations on what's best as well

We'd come back. Food was fresh, moist, delicious, and cooked to perfection. There isn't a dish we ordered that I didn't enjoy. Service was good - they let us join tables and provided Japan style hospitality. Ambiance is well lit. Clean with wooden tables and booths. You can see the chefs cook in the middle. It's located between a chilis and a Verizon store lol. Is that considered a hole in the wall? Either way, we'd come back for sure.

Chicken Wings (Teba) and Harami Beef

I had really high hopes for this place since it originated in Japan, but overall, the kushiyaki was just okay. The space itself is modern, and we sat at the bar, though we wished the walls were lower so we could actually watch them grill the skewers. If you're sensitive to smoke, you might be better off sitting at a table; the bar area got pretty smoky. Many of the skewers felt like they were missing that depth of umami I was expecting. The chicken meatball was my favorite (great texture and solid flavor) while the teba black was my least favorite (overly sweet and a bit dry). The fried chicken skin (torikawa chips) were interesting to try, though I'm not sure I'd order them again. One standout, though, was the hojicha pudding (yummy hojicha flavor and not overly sweet). Definitely recommend. Service-wise, it felt like they were still working out some kinks. Our initial waiter was great and very attentive, but toward the end of the meal someone else stepped in to announce "last call" and rushed the bill, even though we had already ordered dessert and it hadn't arrived yet. Not a huge issue, but it did feel a bit odd and rushed.

This place was easy to get a reservation. The staff was nice and atmosphere was like that of your typical Japanese yakitori resruantat. The food was overall pretty good. The skewers were very good. My favorite was the scallop and Harami beef. The yuzu shio ramen, cucumber salad and karaage were ok.

Torikizoku is a Japanese yakitori spot with a "YAKIBAR" where chefs prepare yakitori in front of customers in an open-kitchen area. Torikizoku started in Osaka in 1985 and has grown to over 600 locations worldwide in places like Taiwan, South Korea, and Hong Kong. This is the first USA location and Hasu Japanese Izakaya & Grill is the sister restaurant. [Parking]: Relatively easy parking within a large parking lot. [Setting]: Our party waited for about 5 minutes and got a table. The staff came to our table and our party placed various yakitori orders. Unfortunately the staff got our order mixed up and gave us a wrong skewer. [Menu]: The menu has a section for $4 skewers and $8 skewers. All appetizers are $8 each and all sides are $4 each. Sauce set is $4 each. Some of popular skewers are Kizoku Yaki (Jumbo Yakitori $4), Harami Beef ($8), Momo (chicken thigh with tare sauce $4), Hotate (Scallops $8), and Tsukune (Chicken Meatball $4). Free refill for Hot Green Tea or Hot Hoji Tea. Happy Hour from Tuesday to Friday from 5 PM to 6:30 PM and Saturday to Sunday from 5 PM to 6 PM. [Skewers - Good] * Kizoku Yaki (Jumbo Yakitori) ($4) * Tsukune (Chicken Meatball) ($4) * Hot Hoji Tea ($4) - free refill * Harami Beef ($8) [Skewers - Mediocre] * Mune Wasabi (Breast with Wasabi Mayo Sauce) ($4) * Hotate (Scallops) ($8) [Conclusion]: Other than the order mix-up and few mediocre dishes, this yakitori restaurant is a good spot for anyone who wants a yakitori fix.

I'm not sure but I feel not. We didn't taste it.

    Do they have child seating?

How are their skewers compared to Torihei or Shin-Sen-Gumi?

Affordable but Torihei and Shin Sen Gumi skewers are packing more flavor.

    Do they allow reservations?

No. I called and was informed they can not take reservations at this location

Agedashi Tofu: 4.8/5 - I wasn't expecting the portion to be large so if I get this again, I'll make sure to bring a friend Millefeuille Shisho Cheese Katsu: 5/5 - Made with meticulous care. An incredibly well-balanced dish with the protein, cheese, and what I believe to be a shiso/perilla leaf incorporated. Crunch was perfect, lots of places tend to overdue it with the batter. This tasted so good it honestly didn't need the tonkatsu sauce (still delish with or without the sauce). Service is phenomenal. I was impressed to see two people essentially taking care of my entire section as the restaurant filled up during the dinner rush. No issues with arrival of food or the pacing. The staff was warm, cordial, and proactively asked if I had questions since I told them it was my first visit. I'm looking forward to coming back in the future and will definitely save some room for beer and/or dessert.
