Wife said we should go inside and get a drink before they close because she mistakenly thought they closed at 9pm and we were going to the lights out version of the maze. When we went it we went straight to the merchandise because we both liked the design of the logo. We were told that they closed at 11pm so we decided to come back after the lights out version of the maze but first we bought our merchandises. Also they said you can walk around town and drink alcohol as long as the canned drink is not already opened at a bar...the drink needs to be opened on the street. We came back after the maze, my wife was driving so she got non alcoholic beverages and I ended up trying 4 different drinks. Two out of four were good. The lychee mead was my favorite cause it actually tasted like lychee. The prickly pear did not taste like prickly pear, it was just super sweet. Got a peach cider and it did not have any peach flavor whatsoever. The kiwi strawberry was actually good and had some kiwi taste not so much strawberry though. They have ciders, mead and beer as well as non alcoholicic drinks for you DDs. We found out that Atascadero is a town you can legally drink alcohol on the streets, just like Vegas. They also have a back patio if it's not too hot outside. I was DD so I didn't get to try the meads or ciders...just a sip. But next time we go to the haunt, I'm booking a hotel close by so I can try the ciders and mead here.

I was especially excited to support a female-owned business, which made the visit feel even more meaningful. That said, I do want to be candid about our tasting experience. The pour sizes were extremely minimal--so much so that it was difficult to properly taste and appreciate each wine. As a member, I expected a more generous and welcoming tasting experience. I'm sharing this feedback because I value the experience you offer and want to continue supporting your winery. I do hope future visits better reflect the level of hospitality and generosity one would expect, especially as a member.

Tucked in the middle of tin city you will find this distillery that offers both inside and outside patio seating. The distillery offers two bars: an indoor/outdoor bar and a more formal indoor bar. The distillery offers both tastings and mix cocktails. The cocktails are solid in taste and amount of alcohol! Plus you can buy their products! Gin, vodka and whiskey can be had there! I also appreciate the great staff! Solid knowledge of the distillery process and their products. On the weekends parking can be challenging but across from tin city you can find an overflow parking lot.

I…read morefurther knew about the "brewery" when I started research on my SLO beer guide project and seeing Chris on a recent podcast, I knew this was the sort of brewery I wanted to get into. Chris isn't new to the beer scene and has been around since the early 90s brewing beer as the former owner/brewer of Dunbar. Nowadays, his operation is small. Not sure "nano" accurately describes his operation in A-Town, but after tasting his beer... Tucked in the halls of a mix-use building, with a commercial street front on El Camino Real, with residential upstairs, his placement is very unique. One does not just walk in, from off the street, sit down and order a pint. No, this is more of a speakeasy type brewery, the first I have come across, where you must first, find the right door and second text Chris to get in. I met him at the door on a Tuesday and he took me into his brewery, just as one other guy was getting ready to head out. It's one of those places you can really get to the people and the owner because it's so small and inviting. It was brew day and the smells were inviting, boiled wort and spent grain. A very unique spot as you walk through a roll up door into the brewery and see all that is going on in this place. All sorts of items dotted the walls, patches and pins, wall art, stickers and skateboard decks. All sorts of stainless steel from Ss Brewtech line two walls, the heart of his operation. The beer? Fantastic! This is the second brewery in A-Town I have visited and reviewed and his beers are all quality. What's even better is he's brewing with some experimental hops you don't normally see. I missed Bodacious, as it wasn't on tap, but was able to sample Celestial Krush, a 6% pale ale, Strata Da Da Da, a WCIPA and Carpenter Red, with a taster of the Robust Porter. Each beer masterfully crafter and full of flavor. Won't be the last time I text 805-464-7172 to gain access to what Chris has created. Definitely make this stop part of your A-Town adventure. I had the classic Old Fashioned and my wife had an espresso martini. Both were beautifully presented and easily among the best cocktails we've had in SLO County. The food also exceeded our expectations. The double smashburger was perfectly cooked, with their house bourbon BBQ sauce and bacon, and the garlic parmesan curly fries were a fun touch and unlike anything we've had elsewhere in Atascadero. Really glad they landed in Atascadero. We'll definitely be back for a cocktail and to work our way through more of the small, thoughtfully crafted food menu.

As someone who has a passion for whiskey, this was an exceptional find. Eric and Anna are truly what make this place a destination. Their passion for their craft is evident in every conversation, every pour, and every detail. They took the time to share the stories behind their spirits and were genuinely excited to talk about what they create, which made the experience even more memorable. The drinks were outstanding. The Old Fashioned I tried was exceptionally smooth and perfectly crafted. I also had a martini with blue cheese olives, and they were hands down the best blue cheese olives I've ever had. What stood out most was the passion and hospitality from the entire staff. It's rare to find a place where everyone is so invested in the craft and creating a welcoming experience for guests. But if you're planning a visit, build in serious buffer time. We stopped in on Memorial Day and, with several parties ahead of us in line, didn't place our order until nearly 20 minutes after arriving. By the 45-minute mark, our food still hadn't come out for two paninis and a soup. What made it especially frustrating was watching parties who arrived after us get their cheese orders and drinks served before anyone had even started assembling our sandwiches. It was clear the shop was understaffed for the holiday weekend, with one person managing the counter and another in the back prepping. We ended up asking to take the sandwiches cold just to get out the door, only to have both stuffed into one small bag, sloppily wrapped. The soup, unfortunately, came out lukewarm regardless. None of this felt malicious. The shop has an unhurried, artisanal quality that's part of its appeal, but that can't fully account for the gap between the experience and a nearly hour-long wait for a simple lunch order while others moved ahead of us. Come for the cheese, come for the atmosphere. Just don't come hungry with anywhere to be.
