We've been testing out food options in the surrounding area, and Nacho Macho has emerged as my favorite (for convenience, speed, flavor, and affordability). Now, the space isn't much to speak of. It's narrow, with only a couple places to sit. But the dudes who work there are efficient, nice, and can put together an order of food for 6+ dudes in about 15 minutes (double-check they gave you some salsa and utensils if you need them though). I've tried a couple of the options, but the al pastor burrito, with a few things added (guac, sour cream, jalapenos, etc.) is a gutbomb of deliciousness that I am never sad about eating. You do you, but I'm getting another one in a couple days.

None of the Americanized Mexican Trucks and Restaurants have that specific cut of meat and frankly, it's my favorite by far so when I saw it on the menu in this truck as I was passing by, I had to give it a shot. It's honestly really easy to tell whether or not the tongue is done well because it's either tender and delicious with a slight bounce, or it's excessively chewy and bland, and I'm glad to say that this is the former. Everything else is just baseline good quality, from the wrap to the rice and beans and all the fixings inside as well. While definitely not the biggest burrito I've ever had, it's a pretty good size overall so I can't really complain.

We asked if they were any good, and they were wishy-washy about it, so we didn't order them. Got some al pastor and cochinita pibil tacos instead. While we were waiting for them, the guy we spoke to actually gave us a sample of the birria. I know it was the end of the night, but super nice of him! Also... he was right. Don't get them. The al pastor and cochinita pibil ones, however, were pretty solid. Never had cochinita pibil before, but it might be my new favorite. If you're at one of the latter, the best thing you can do for yourself is to stumble out and get something to eat at the Los Carnales taco truck parked here every day, and late into the night. In my experience, it's staffed by a lovely lady who doesn't speak much English (one time I was with a buddy who is fluent in Spanish, and she asked him to hop on her phone and give someone directions to the truck in English). However, she doesn't need to speak much English to understand my poorly accented, "Carne asada quesadilla, por favor." Or, "carnitas burrito por favor." Or, "tacos de pastor, por favor." I always add the "por favor" because my mother raised me right, unlike you heathens. They also have huaraches and cemitas and tortas and tostadas and camarones and pescado and cochinita pibil and birria, but I haven't tried much beyond what I already mentioned.
