This is a shout out to Library Events Coordinator Markita Dawson who has been so helpful and generous in rescuing our weekly Wednesday Spanish class from the elements! You see, we usually meet in the park every Wednesday, battling the elements: blinding sun, wind, occasional rain, and oh those seasonal-yet-year-round allergies! NOW... we are able to meet up every OTHER week at Paseo Verde Library from 5:30-6:30PM and have our FREE class in a REAL classroom! Markita explained to us how we have to check in at the front Help Desk to get a pass, and then we head to the Program Room, and there Andrea Corazon teaches the class to ALL LEVELS. Markita also generously provided snacks and was a great help and cheerleader for our new location! We are SO TICKLED to be at the Paseo Verde library every other Wednesday, and hopefully one day we can have a permanent WEEKLY home there (pretty please?). read more

This is our favorite library in Henderson! The space is large and welcoming, with a fantastic children's section that makes it such a great place to bring little ones. We especially love that there's a coffee shop inside (The Coffee Press), which makes it easy to grab a drink while spending time reading or exploring the library. They also offer a variety of programs and events throughout the year, including story times, family activities, and book sales. There's always something fun happening for the community. Decent experience here with my three year old on a Saturday. My hubby was running errands in Henderson & dropped us off. The last time I came to this library was over 20 years ago. I was an undergraduate student at CSN, met up with my classmate for a group project (oral presentation for History 102). Years later, I graduated from UNLV with a Bachelor's & a Master's degree... but this library came in handy for my Associate's degree studies. The convenience of this library included a cafe for smoothies & snacks. The kids area had a decent amount of toys, including a train table & LEGO blocks. Overall, it was a pleasant experience & a trip down the memory lane! read more

Staff is always so nice and friendly. They always have plenty of computers available! They have rooms for conferences or studying the have an area for reading only! This library is very nice. They have events for kids and it's easy to find books that are with different levels of interest and in different languages. I like they have a small coffee shop when you walk in on the right. I love this library! It's amazing how there's a coffee shop before entering it's always a vibe. I'm also glad that parking is never an issue. Also the ample amount of books and how organized it is makes it easy to find what you're looking for. This place has quiet areas, a lot of computers, and is really well lit. Checking out books always was easy as well as returning them. My favorite find was that they have puzzles that can be borrowed and have been making that a hobby so it's exciting that there's more to the library than books. They also have CD's to borrow as well as having access to audiobooks. Who knew having a library card opens up to many resources and opportunities! read more

Some of the people are nice but others not so much. When you go into the teen section every single last book I picked up has some form of pornography in the books I don't feel comfortable reading that and I wouldn't want my kids to read that either. read more

This library is massive and so many varieties of books and dvd to borrow. My husband and I found this place by randomly. Surprised how close this place is from our place. I even found Korean poem from the library. Cartoon, manga, international and so much fiction books to choose from. You can even buy books at certain section close to main entrance. I'll be visiting this library more often. :) read more

Love this library. It's always busy but quiet and they are very helpful. Great location and there's a coffee shop just inside the entrance.

Update: I also have been issues with the library's printer when sending printing over to printer, it never has it defaulted to Portrait only you're printing them landscape which I had to waste money for and have mentioned many times to Marcia Smedley but nothing has been done at all. I've been making some payments to this library for the last few months as it's costing me more money especially when their color cost increased from 25 cents to 50 cents. One day this week I made two copies didn't realize that much when got home one of the copies were landscape as their copier is set up that way then I wasted spending my .50 per colored copy. I went up to talk to Nathan, mgr, showing him what happened and he said if I came up to them same day, they could have done something to assist. But do you think this library is going broke and they wouldn't have been making money off us or me if it weren't for them to pay for their copier and copy paper where $1 wouldn't have killed their pocket but it seem that way. Also, their counting the copies when they don't have set up conveniently to customers and for the front desk where they have to manually count them to be exact off my balance every time. How inconvenient is that for both parties? Someone's making money off us dirty but not willing to help their clients just for $1 when I come more often to spend for copies there. What a corrupted system that is there. If this continues will file complaint because then they're ripping customers off w/o notice even to replace lost libary cards. Just ridiculous! read more

My kids and I love this library so much. We are here OFTEN. Here's all the reasons why we love it just to make the review easier: 1. My son is in 1st grade and has to do a nightly reading log for homework. They have a LARGE selection of books to choose from and everything is color coordinated to his reading level. It makes finding books so much easier. 2. There's plenty of tables in the children's area for parents to sit or for kids to read or do homework. 3. Since my kids are still little, they enjoy the Lego and train table that is set up. 4. The employees are so helpful and kind. 5. I love that they have books on sale for super cheap. I scored during one of our visits and got more than 10 books for $5!!!!!!!!!! 6. I love all the activities they have planned. Over summer, they had a back-to-school clothing swap. You bring in your gently used outgrown kids clothes to trade for "new" clothes. I'm all for a good clothing trade since kids outgrow them so fast and it was free :) I was able to score uniform pants for my son and pretty dresses for my daughter. 7. I love the coffee shop that is attached. Makes for a one stop trip. I'm so glad my kids enjoy the library as much as I did when I was a kid. We will be back for years to come. read more

Great library. Bright, open, easy to navigate. They have all sorts of programs from different book clubs to regularly scheduled kids activities, special events, book drives and more. Plus, they have a fantastic coffee shop, deli called Coffee Press attached to it too. Easy parking lot to get in and out of (provided there is not something going on at The DLC then it's a bit frustrating to access.) Love that I can request a book....they pull it and put it in the Hold area at the front of the library so I can go in and get it quickly and easily. The self checkout computers are super easy to use. To return, you can drop your books into the bins in the parking lot or bring them inside and feed them into the book return machine. read more

This is a another great library in Henderson. There's plenty of parking, friendly employees and volunteers, a lot of programs and events are offered, and everything is well organized. For kids there is so much offered. You can make a trip for books into a whole outing. Programs offered include story times (with themed story times around holidays), yoga, art, and movies. There are so many books here to cover all interests and the books are organized so they can be found easily. Tables in the middle are available if you want to hang out and read there. Sometimes they even have little arts and crafts on the tables. During the summer there are craft kits available to pick up and bring home. The employees and volunteers are always friendly and helpful. They always greet us as we come in and are happy to help us find specific books. The bathrooms are large and always clean. They are also conveniently located in the main lobby area. A fun part of this library is the coffee shop by the entrance. I was so excited to see this the first time we came here. It's convenient to be able to grab a coffee or snack on the way out. They have indoor tables and a large patio with outdoor seating. I wouldn't say it's the best coffee, but I'm just glad it exists. This is a great library for kids. One day I may check out what they have to offer for me too. read more

Hi, I just attended my first Author event it was life changing . I got to see Tai Keller . And she was super sweet . She gave a wonderful presentation. She even got the key to the city . Super cool. She did a Q and A . And she even did a book reading and a book signing . I'd definitely recommend going to one of these events . I'll definitely be back again.! And the staff here at the library were amazing as well! read more

Joined a book club recently so I decided to drop in today to look for my next read. The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. I haven't been to this local library in years. It's changed so much since the last time I was here. It's beautiful inside. Very spacious, clean, and organized. When you first walk in they have The coffee press located in the library which I think is a genius idea! They even have outdoor seating in the front of the library to read, eat and drink your tea or coffee! The bathrooms were super clean. They also offer tons of free events daily for seniors, children's, and adults. I saw they have a Tai Chi class today from 3-4p.m. I will for sure have to check this class out one day. The employees in there were all super friendly. One employee helped me sign up for a new library card since mine expired. She also helped me find the book I was looking for and showed me all the resources available to me when i come back. You can check your books out with a self check out or with an employee. It was super quick to check out by myself. I can't wait to come back and spend more time relaxing there when I have some more time. read more

As I'm on the constant hunt for new places to study, focus and do schoolwork- I stumbled upon this library on Yelp. Since it's in close proximity to my home, this was a HUGE plus for me! My first visit was yesterday, a Saturday. I was worried this place was going to be busy since it was a weekend, but luckily it wasn't as busy as I thought and I was able to snag a great spot to study! Immediately as I was walking up to the entrance I noticed they had an in-house/attached Coffee shop! I thought this was brilliant because what goes better with a good book? A good cup of joe! They also serve food, so if you feel your blood sugar soy decreasing remember they sell soup, sandwiches, pastries and more! My first impression walking into the library was that I was impressed at how clean it was. Besides the huddle and bustle of the front check out desk this library's noise level stays pretty low so I was able to get some good reading/studying done. I was able to snag one of the studying cubicles towards the back, furthest away from the main front desk. The lighting is also adequate which is important if you're trying to read. A couple things to note, which is also why this isn't a 5 star spot for me is: 1) they don't have many desks for group studying. 2) they don't have that many private studying rooms, and the reservation process is a processsss I wish they would have a designated "quiet/study" area where the talking is limited... Otherwise, this library is great for study sessions. *high five to my new studying spot! read more

There's a gorgeous Vegas dessert skyline view from their quiet area, it's a great place to take a seat and enjoy your favorite book for a couple hours. Plenty of large and small areas to study. This is my favorite library to study at here in Henderson! They have study rooms you can book ahead of time with a library card, and are always clean and spacious. I do wish the rooms were more soundproof so you could have meetings/talk to friends while you're studying, but otherwise its a great independent study place. They also have tons of chairs and couches around the library if you don't need a room. I've never checked out a book here, but they always seem to have new selections and displays. They have lots of events for the kids too! There is a coffee shop attached which is nice when you need a little pick me up! read more

Who doesn't love free things? The library offers so much to the city why not make use of it? Sign up for a library card online anywhere or at the kiosk and pick it up at the desk with a valid ID for free. The librarians are very helpful whenever you have any questions. With your library card you can use their computers and Internet and rent out books, movies, and cds for a good period of time. I love going here to study. It's always quiet and they allow food inside. It's a new-er library compared to others in the valley, but it is on the smaller side. I used to go here when I was little (like elementary school little) and I've seen it stay fairly the same as far as materials and cleanliness goes. This library never disappoints! read more

This little library is a staple in our family. On a hot 100+ degree day in Vegas, it's a nice place to get out of the heat and let our children explore. For the children's section, it's okay. I've seen bigger, and I've seen smaller. My daughter enjoys it, and that's all that matters. There are books (of course) and dvds, computer area, and children's toys. There used to be a designated play area for kids, but that has since been dismantled and replaced with a few computer centers. The kids play area has opened up with table play centers. Obtaining a library card is free, and even the children can have their own card. The overdue fines for their card will be attached to a grownup's card. There are conveniently 2 private and CLEAN children's restrooms with children sized toilets. Very convenient for moms, so you don't have to lift your very young ones onto adult sized toilets. Pick up a calendar on the way out of the children's department to see a list of storylines, activities and movie days. A big reason why I love this library is that there is a Coffee Shop at the front entrance of the library offering fresh pastries, muffins, bagels, sandwiches, drinks and more. After we are done checking out books, it's very nice to sit at a table and talk with my kids while enjoying a fresh baked good or sandwich. My daughter already has fond memories of doing this, and it has quickly turned into a tradition for us. Overall, a great community library. read more

Out of all the Henderson Libraries, Paseo Verde is absolutely my favorite. Its large and spacious, with comfortable lighting and big windows, a computer area, free wifi, plenty of desks and tables (with outlets at each one!), and of course, a huge collection of books! Registering for a library card is no fuss, quick and easy. I filled out the online form on the Henderson Libraries website at home, then went in with my ID/proof of local address. The librarian looked me up in the system and I was able to pick up the card in a matter of minutes! The online catalogue is easy to use and your library card gives you access to the Green Valley and Gibson Libraries as well. I only wish Henderson Libraries would consider extending their hours, especially Thursdays-Saturdays when the Paseo Verde Library closes at 5:00 PM. I'm an osteopathic medical student at Touro University Nevada and the gorgeous Lied Library at UNLV is my ideal place to study (they're open until midnight most nights AND they're open Sundays!) but it's a further drive than I'd prefer and the parking situation there is always a nightmare :( I'm currently reading Celeste Ng's Everything I Never Told You which I am very much enjoying! Overall, Paseo Verde Library is an excellent community library that I'll definitely continue to utilize for the next several years. read more

The study rooms are not soundproof and have poor design. The walls do not go all the way to the ceiling, so you'll hear your neighbor's every sneeze. If you need a room to just read alone, they are fine. But then why even get a room? If you intend to have even a couple people speaking, then be prepared for being told to keep quiet. read more

This is one of the best hidden secrets of Society! We think that only school kids use the library for school, that is so wrong! This library is Awesome! I have been to many over the years. The staff is very professional and helpful to find anything you need for reading, research, fun, kids section, conference room section, and computer section! OMG, Amazing! All Free To Use! Did you know that all you need to do is get a free library card and you have access to use one of many computers for free! Did you know that you also have access to printers at only 10 cents a copy. WOW, that's way cheaper than FedEx, UPS Stores, etc. It is so cool, this place has a food cafe in it, and the food is awesome and reasonable priced. I am embarrassed to say that I have been a Henderson resident for over 11 years and just signed up for a library card last month. My kids love reading and they get a lot of reading assignments so I can't keep up with buying new books all the time for 2 kids. I like that they are open till 8 a few days a week so that I have plenty of time to stop by after work. It reminds me of a Barnes and Noble because the layout and decor is very calming, you can get a coffee on your way out, it's easy to find what you want and the staff is extremely helpful. Holding books through the app or online are easy. The app also allows you to see upcoming events, verify what books you have checked out and when they are due. I had no idea how many free resources they have online through Overdrive and other apps. I still have way more to explore. read more

This is easily becoming one of my favorite libraries. There are always open computers and you can use them for up to an hour & half. Printing is quick and easy. Staff is very friendly & knowledgeable. Good selection of books and etc. They also have a super cute cafe that I haven't tried yet.... But I know I will sooner or later. This is a first time I had to leave a bad review in 2 years. I am a high school student and I go to this library 1 a week since December. I always go to the mature side and NOT the KIDS side. So today I try to go to my usual part of the library where it is a quite zone and dividers and then a security lady stops me and my brother. She asks how old I am I say I am 15 and in my freshman year and trying to study for my test Tomorrow. She tells me I have to go to the kids section and I say well I'm fifttten and I always go to this certain area. Also nobody stops me and nobody cares that I go too the mature side of the library. I can not study and not focus in the kids side of the library. Also I see middle schoolers in the mature side of the library. The lady say " where are your parents" I say to here " well my mom drops me off here every Wensday to study. I WONDER WHY SHE DOES NOT QUESTION MIDDLE SCHOOLERS BUT QUESTIONS A HIGHSCHOOLER. This is very ridiculous and unbelievable. She has no problem with 10 year olds and middle schoolers but has a problem with me. Like what the hell is wrong with this lady. The lady is a security guard, African American, maybe around 5,3 to 5,7. If you are a highschooler watch out for this lady. Have a nice day people. read more

we have been going to this library branch forever, i want to say for the 20 plus years we have lived in Henderson and this is the first time we have had anything but great service. But today the staff at the library was very rude and made it sound like we were stealing one of their precious books. Not once but twice they came running out of the library building yelling that we had taken a book and not checked it out. The first women when I gave her the bag of books and said ok you recheck them out. She said just bring all the books back. Then when we are at the car this Asian male come running up to us screaming that we didn't check out a book. By this time I was really pissed and told to check out the book and return it to us. He had a very bad attitude and acted like we were trying to steal the book. Maybe if the system worked the "paid" hired help would not have to accuse people of stealing books. read more

We moved here last year and wanted to get connected to the library system. The Henderson Libraries group is amazing. I've checked out 80+ items this past year and found this library's system to be easy to use. They have great seating areas, computers, an excellent children's section, and more. I haven't had any issues and have had friendly people help me out. The library card works at Green Valley and Gibson libraries as well! I usually check their book system before going to make sure the books I want are available--the waiting lists can get long at times for popular titles. read more

FREE wifi and study nooks. Right in the heart of Henderson. Perfect timing, as I was in town for a few days in November to take a test and staying with family in Henderson. This was the ideal spot to get down to business without distractions. Connecting to the internet on my laptop was no problem. Finding a secluded(ish) corner was easy. Things were mostly quiet, sans a few chatty librarians and it wasn't anything my headphones couldn't remedy. And because this library is so centrally located, I was able to pop in and out to take breaks and have lunch in the nearby 'hood. True, there's a coffee shop attached to the library, but a true work/study break and change of scenery is needed every few hours. Not all public libraries are created equal, but I do give props to Paseo Verde! read more

Small library but very comfortable to study at. Only one floor, children's section immediately in front of you when you walk through the front entrance. A long table with workers to help you navigate your way around the place or if you have any questions that need answers. They even have a wall of things for sale for such a low price (books, cds, audiobooks, etc). Study rooms and computers have to be reserved with a library card. Card sign up is for free. Many tables to study at, even individual couch like seats facing the windows for those who are alone. Cons: The study rooms have these open separation walls so you can hear everyone in the next rooms over. I was hoping that those rooms are built so that groups can study privately and still hold discussions without bothering others. read more
