Summerlin Library Las Vegas, Nevada August 2025

The Summerlin library has a fantastic kids section, a performing arts theater, a walk-in bookstore, and a great gallery!

The only library we visit! Nice staff! Cool, calming ambiance. We always enjoy the art exhibits! Plan to check out more events and shows here. Thankful for the Summerlin Library!

In A Nutshell: -The Summerlin Library is a nice community library. -It's not too crowded, very well laid out, has friendly employees & enough books, movies & music to satisfy your inner-nerd. -There is also a small art gallery, a handful of enclosed study rooms, free computers to use, a hydroponic herbal garden & a kids discovery area. Overall, this is a very easy library to navigate!

Not quite a 5-stars for the library, but the area is very good in this safe Summerlin neighborhood. Everyone is helpful and resourceful. Plenty of parking. Art gallery displays keep me coming back. Small room area. Discounted bookstore was much smaller than expected. It's a bit too narrow inside the one tiny room bookstore. Security is on guard. Children's section looks huge and it's definitely a great place to bring kids along. Adult section was quiet with lots of bookshelves and aisles, but honestly, they don't have a whole lot of study rooms or computer rooms here. Good staffing. Lights inside weren't as bright in most areas. It still feels like an old library. Restroom hallway was narrow. I think Summerlin can do much better for libraries if the district really wants to. Colorful directions markings and arrows were helpful for visitors. Very organized. You won't find much huge or bright windows here due to the design of the building. Not far from a U.S. Post Office building. Summerlin Library looks convenient. I will revisit when they have performing art events and exhibitions. If only the narrow spaces inside can be widened. They should redesign the interior, so there's more space to walk around.

Nice, quiet, well kempt. Free phone charging! Lots of desks have access to electricity so that you can plug in your laptop. Nice quiet place to work and catch up on email and my other social networking sites. For some reason my laptop couldn't connect to their wifi, but my phone could. They have wifi for 18+, and ages 17-. I tried them both

Whenever I've had a question at the front desk or needed help checking something out, I've never had to wait long. One of the best things about this location is the self-checkout system. It's super easy to use ... you don't even have to scan each book, DVD, or video game individually. Just place everything on the scanner and it checks everything out at once. They also have a great selection of PS5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch games, which is something a lot of people probably don't realize libraries offer. The DVD selection is solid too. It gives me a little nostalgia of walking through Blockbuster back in the day. Instead of paying for streaming services all the time, I'd definitely recommend supporting your local library. I usually reserve my books, movies, or games online, and they notify me when they're ready. I just stop by, pick them up, and check out. The whole process is really smooth. One time they even called me quickly to let me know I accidentally returned my own video game with the library items, which I really appreciated. Renewing items online is also super easy. As long as nobody else has requested the item, they usually let you renew it without any issues. I personally don't stay long enough to study or hang around, so I can't really speak on the noise level like some reviews mention and rude employee interactions. For what I use it for ... quick pickups and returns, it has been perfect. The parking lot is spacious, and they even have 3D printers available for public use, which is pretty cool. You can also renew passports here, so the library really offers a lot more services than people realize. I've been to multiple libraries in the valley, including the Sahara location, and this library has consistently been one of the easiest and nicest ones I've been to.

My company sponsors it, so I brought thank you gifts for donors. The Red Cross staff is kind and gracious. I didn't take any photos inside the blood drive for privacy reasons, but it was full of exceptional members of our community set on saving lives. Whenever I visit Centennial Hills Library I always check out the book store, and it never disappoints. I usually get children's books to donate to the Obodo library. This time the books were for me though. I have that Kamala Harris book "The Truths We Hold" in my Amazon cart right now. That's so fun. It would have cost me a lot more than the $1 I paid here. Plus, proceeds go back to the library, so win! As I walked around snapping pictures, the staff wanted me to tell you some things. The gentleman monitoring the resource room invites everyone to come in. He's ready with computers, homework help, and more. The ladies at the desk by the hydroponics said this is actually an adult ed class and you will create hydroponics to take home. They said to come out and take part. The cashier at the entrance to the media section offered that there are so many great titles to choose from in the book store. I couldn't agree more. She added that it's a good idea to stop by first when you're think of shopping for books. In all it was a lovely visit and a beautiful day at the blood drive.

Yelp! review #50 of 2025…read more We come to Centennial Hills Library about once a month for a wonderful writing workshop that the library graciously hosts (huge thank-you to the staff for making that happen every time!). Plenty of free parking, the building is always spotless, feeling very safe and secure - there's even a security guard keeping an eye on the common areas. Public restrooms are surprisingly clean and well-stocked. There's a little vending machine nook perfect for grabbing a quick drink or snack between chapters. The workshop room is comfortable and quiet, and we love checking the events calendar ahead of time because there's almost always something else cool going on (story time, author talks, craft events) that we can pair with our workshop day. This branch is a hidden gem in the northwest - welcoming, well-maintained, and community-focused. We always look forward to our monthly visit and can't recommend it enough!

My 4- and 8-year-old still talk about him, and going to the library just isn't the same without seeing him there. My daughter practically grew up attending his Storytime. When she first started going, she was extremely shy and would cry if anyone approached her. Mr. Patrick noticed that right away and met her exactly where she was. Instead of overwhelming her, he would gently wave from a distance, give her space, and slowly build trust. Because of him, she became more comfortable and confident in that environment--and that means everything to me as a parent. With my son, he was just as incredible. He took the time to recommend books he knew he'd enjoy and would even walk with us to show him the "cool" chapter books. He didn't just do his job--he genuinely cared. He once said, "Kids can tell if adults are nice or not--they are wise," and he truly lived by that. It's such a shame to see someone like Mr. Patrick leave. People like him make a lasting impact on children and families, and those connections matter more than words can express. That said, we are very grateful for Ms. Jessica and Ms. Melissa. They continue to show kindness and dedication to the kids, and it's clear they are loved by the families who come back week after week. Librarians play such an important role--many of our children grow up with them, and they help shape their love for reading and learning. I truly hope our tax dollars are going toward supporting and properly compensating these amazing individuals who are making a real difference in our community.

They also provide lunch for young kids during certain hours throughout the week, which I think is wonderful. There's always something going on, from yoga and workshops to tutoring and arts and crafts. It's definitely more than just a quiet library; it's a full community space. Since it's Mexican Heritage Month, they hosted a class where the kids made Frida Kahlo in inspired purses out of woven paper. My kids really enjoyed it! They got a little frustrated at first since weaving paper isn't the easiest thing if you're not used to it, but it was a great activity overall and they were proud of their creations. Such a great spot for families! We'll definitely be back!
