I came for the blood drive and left with a book I've been wanting for only $1. The Centennial Hills Library holds a blood drive monthly. My company sponsors it, so I brought thank you gifts for donors. The Red Cross staff is kind and gracious. I didn't take any photos inside the blood drive for privacy reasons, but it was full of exceptional members of our community set on saving lives. Whenever I visit Centennial Hills Library I always check out the book store, and it never disappoints. I usually get children's books to donate to the Obodo library. This time the books were for me though. I have that Kamala Harris book "The Truths We Hold" in my Amazon cart right now. That's so fun. It would have cost me a lot more than the $1 I paid here. Plus, proceeds go back to the library, so win! As I walked around snapping pictures, the staff wanted me to tell you some things. The gentleman monitoring the resource room invites everyone to come in. He's ready with computers, homework help, and more. The ladies at the desk by the hydroponics said this is actually an adult ed class and you will create hydroponics to take home. They said to come out and take part. The cashier at the entrance to the media section offered that there are so many great titles to choose from in the book store. I couldn't agree more. She added that it's a good idea to stop by first when you're think of shopping for books. In all it was a lovely visit and a beautiful day at the blood drive. read more

Yelp! review #50 of 2025 We come to Centennial Hills Library about once a month for a wonderful writing workshop that the library graciously hosts (huge thank-you to the staff for making that happen every time!). Plenty of free parking, the building is always spotless, feeling very safe and secure - there's even a security guard keeping an eye on the common areas. Public restrooms are surprisingly clean and well-stocked. There's a little vending machine nook perfect for grabbing a quick drink or snack between chapters. The workshop room is comfortable and quiet, and we love checking the events calendar ahead of time because there's almost always something else cool going on (story time, author talks, craft events) that we can pair with our workshop day. This branch is a hidden gem in the northwest - welcoming, well-maintained, and community-focused. We always look forward to our monthly visit and can't recommend it enough! read more

I'm a big fan of public libraries. I stopped by the Centennial Hills location recently to sign up for a Clark County library card and check out what the have to offer. The building appears large from the outside, but surprisingly only one floor. The bathrooms are located immediately to the right upon entry. They have a few vending machines in a little cafe type area. Water fountains are available, but no water bottle filler that I could find. The library is split down the middle, with kids section on the left and adults on the right. In the back left, they have a quiet area that is partitioned off with glass walls. In the back middle, they have a couple meeting rooms. There are two 4 person rooms that can be reserved at the information desk based on availability, or by calling the library within 48 hours of needed reservation time. Unfortunately, there is currently not a way to reserve them online ahead of time -- only by phone. There is an adult computer lab in the back left. On the outskirts of the adult section are several big reading chairs. There are only a handful of tables, which I think is something they could improve. Surprisingly, the noise level was at a minimum despite the kids section being open to the entire library. read more

We came for the first time with my toddler and got a library card. The receptionists were helpful and kind. We attended their baby/toddler storytime. It was a little chaotic as you can imagine for their age, but it was fun. There was a lot of parents/caregivers and children. Interesting room they host it in because the kids can't really "run" around. The set up of story time was also interesting because expecting children to sit down or be quiet is crazy haha! We will be back though! read more

If there's a book, movie, or other item available at another Clark County library location you need, you can request it through the website and they'll notify you when its ready for pick-up. My littles and I are seriously lucky to have such an amazing library right down the street from us. The staff is so friendly here and available anytime that I need help finding a book. The kids area is always clean and my kids can always find books that they want to take home - in fact, most times I have to tell them we are not taking home as many as they want to. I visit this library primarily to study in a quiet, distraction-free environment. It also provides a much more relaxing atmosphere compared to my residence, especially on weekends when my family can be quite lively. Occasionally, my family joins me on these trips to pick out a movie or two. read more

I decided to pop in randomly to sign up for a library card. I'd never had the chance to visit the Centennial Library before, and I was pleasantly surprised with how great it was! It was so easy to sign up for a card, and the women at the Help desk were so nice. It took about 5 minutes and you get to choose which design you want for your card! So cute. They also have a ton of events posted around the library, such as trivia, crafting, and a bunch of events for kids. It was so nice to see all of these events that catered towards different people. The adult selection wasn't huge, but I might just need to spend some more time looking around. I'm definitely excited to come back! read more

Thus library is great. I visit regularly, often reserving materials online. I needed to fax documents on a weekend recently & used to adult computer lab late on a Saturdy to do so. Library staff was on hand & the fax process was flawless. Appreciate this neighborhood library. read more

This library is not like a regular library. Employees who are working makes more noise than children by the kids area. But overall if you want to bring kids not to worry about staying quiet, this is the place. But if you want to study or need quiet space, don't come here without reservation for study room. I took big share table by the back and there are 2 gentlemen who is setting 3D printer taking Video for idk, probably for the library promotion. They are so loud!!!! They shouldn't be doing that!! This library is small and cramped, everybody packed in one big room, kids, teens, adults, staff, security. Jack the "friendly" security guard likes to bother everyone with talk or he will wave at you, eats chips while doing his rounds, always talking or laughing or harassing. Not everyone wants to associate while visiting the library, especially me. Manager must like him because she won't address his behavior, laughing at patrons when they leave or aggressively staring them down, he will stand next to you if you're concentrating then pretend he's looking out the window or adjusting a chair. He's from Chicago Why would I know this if I have never spoke to him? Like I said, he likes to talk and to everyone.He has his buddies who frequent this location or just people there who he knows. I have been harassed by them on a few occasions. Sitting across from me, staring at me, watching me, talking to me.I have talked to his boss but nothing has been done and now he knows and it's worse than before. Other manager Melinda I believe has helped me and suggested the quiet room, which is great but Jack and his buddy even found a reason to come in there, changing out a chair cushion talking in the no talking quiet room. Guess it's ok for them because a chair cushion is so important to fix during open hours and also has been stained for months. Luckily I don't use this place as often as the others. Security behavior is foul, he comes off friendly but he's just checking people and some people don't like to be checked. Unfortunately he has many people who like him and fall for it. They hire trans who walk around in half shirt and tight short, shorts, belly hanging out. You get the idea. Place is cult like and I am not welcomed but I still go there read more

We love this place. I take my kids here every Saturday to borrow books, it's a very clean place. To me it's a pretty big library. My kids love the manga ( Japanese version of comic) selection. I would recommend this to anyone. read more

This library is so easy to find, located right next to Centennial Hills Park. There is plenty of parking as well. This library is large and has a nice selection to choose from. It's very open and super clean. The staff here is very friendly and happy to answer any questions. Fun fact - when you get a library card, you get to choose your design from the ones offered. Cool! They also give you a small keychain one so you don't have to worry about forgetting it. They allow you to check out several books and give you 3 weeks. They also have a computer lab where you can print in black and white or color if you need too. read more

This is a nice, spacious library with modern facilities and a wide-range of resources. There is ample parking and the place is clean. All the workers were extremely helpful and polite, which made my visit a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend this location. read more

Centennial Hills Library, you RULE :) If you don't have your Clark county library card, what are you doing?!? You can get a card and key card for free(you even get to pick out of several different styles which card you want!) and can check out up to 35 books at a time! They also have DVD movies and music cds to check out as well. Don't have access to a computer? They have that too! Even a study room / meeting room. This library is spacious and tidy. There are books for anyone here, even cookbooks. What I found astonishing was the self check out. I may be behind times a bit, but all you have to do is place the books on top of the check out table and it will automatically count and check out your books for you. Then just sign out and you're good to go. There is also a little store they have where you can purchase books as well. I can't wait to return and invest in myself some more. read more

I love the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District and this location is as well organized and run as the other branches in the Valley. Some of the people who work here, however, are not the kindest and I often feel I am interrupting when I ask a question. This is a nice location right next to the YMCA, several nice parks, and many stores and restaurants nearby. Here's what's great about the LVCCLD and this location: * There is a wide selection of books, audiobooks (CDs), videos (including new releases), and more at this location. *Local artists display their work here. *You can buy inexpensive used books here, including some in other languages. *There are LOTS of events held weekly for adults, teens, and children. *There are computers for use by adults and children (but it is sometimes hard to find a computer if you just want to find a book). Now, here are my very favorite things about the library system: *The system has a HUGE selected of e-books and e-audiobooks. You can put these on loan so when the most popular ones are available, you get an email. You never have to put foot in the building. *The library district supports a pick-up system. You can choose almost anything in the collection while pursuing the website online. Request the item online and as soon as a copy is available, they will send it to your home library (along with an email so you know when to pick it up). All you have to do is walk to the hold shelf, find your name and book, and check it out using the electronic system. It's really easy and doesn't require you to engage with anyone else (I like that part because it makes it fast). *The online Help is fantastic! You can chat or send an email and they will answer anything in a timely manner from a grammar question to finding a book through inter-library loan. read more

One of our fav libraries to go to. We always find good books for sale here too. We come here since it's closer to my son's school & they have two little play area for the kids. It's not advertised here, but if your children "clean up" after themselves they can go to the children's service counter to ask for a sticker. Good little incentive. read more

I love this library! Who would have thought you could still get real information without doing a google search. With our short attention spans continuing to diminish year by year who has time to sit down and read a book that might take you a week or so. Well if you feel like unplugging then the Centennial hills library is the place to do just that. The facility is so clean and well illuminated it feels as though you are outdoors while still enjoying the A/C. This one of the few LEED Certified buildings in Las Vegas. LEED is an acronym that stands for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design. Which means these buildings save money and resources and have a positive impact on the environment and its occupants while promoting clean and renewable energy resources. The Centennial Hills Library also has a great children section with daily story times for different age groups. Check LVCCLD website for the schedule and the age group for the afternoon. They also have a great selection of music and DVD's for all ages. Needless to say I am fan of any library but this one is a top notch facility and I am happy to have this in my neighborhood. I am surprised that only half of the building is currently being occupied. The vacant space is used for an employee work space. I wonder how we can have the city open up this section of the building for full occupancy? Any Ideas? read more

They have toys available but the kids can't play with them because as soon as they start to have fun and laugh they are told to use their whispers because it's a library. They are kids! They have coloring pages but no crayons because they cause a mess. They have puzzles with missing pieces that have to be checked out. The puzzles have missing pieces. I live about 3 miles from the library. I think it is one of the very best libraries I have been in as far as colleges not affiliated with a college. The library is bright and airy. I haven't stepped into a library since college, but had to come in to help my kids find books for their school projects. We came in late evening and a lady talking to the security guard helped me sign up for a free library card. The card choices were cute and looked like some were designed by kids. I ended up choosing the Vegas Born Golden Knights one as suggested by the kiddos. She then explained the services the library offers and how to self checkout books as well as how to return them. It's like using the self check out at the grocery store! We needed help locating and finding books,so one of many librarians assisted us and even walked us over to the location of the books. This library is clean and spacious. I've been to some where one can have a feeling of claustrophobia, but not in here. The workers are also friendly and helpful. During a random cleaning spree I decided to sort through my book collection and get rid of mostly old textbooks. Only a select few textbooks were relevant enough to be sold back for credit through Amazon, but I was still up to my ears in dusty books. What to do with old textbooks? A Google search revealed most thrift stores no longer accept these unwanted items. Many people suggested my only option would be to throw them away, but that would be sacrilegious. By sheer luck, I discovered that the Centennial Hills Library not only accepts old textbooks but will give you a hand receipt for a tax write off for your donation! Awesome possum! Library has great children's program and multi desk customer service. However, it's way too loud and overrun by teens. Despite the "no food allowed inside library", teens are constantly eating, swearing and yelling in front of families with younger children. Stopping by after school is useless due to no tables available anywhere. Librarians and Security guard DOES NOT enforce any rules to them to follow. Security guard doesn't do anything but sit (I cannot count how many times I've said hi and will not get an eye contact or hello back). Will be looking at other locations read more

Take charge of your learning, your children and/or grandchildren. You will be so pleased you took the initiative to propel forward. The valley's library system is more than adequate, but seemingly has seen its hours cut deeper and deeper in the last five years. The hold system is awesome. And the selection is fairly vast, although they contain noticeable holes in some areas (do they truly need 128 copies of the same horrible dvd [order ten less, and get a couple of arthouse films instead]) When the economy was met at full strength with The Great Recession, it was arguably a competition between LVCCLD and North Las Vegas library systems in regards to who would slash their hours and staff more. One would open an hour later, and the other then would open two hours later; now we are stuck with Centennial Hills opening at 10AM! Pretty ridiculous. Moreover, if you ever have anything of yours stolen from this library branch: Centennial Hills, you may have imagined that with the London-esque system of CCTVs (about seventy of them, it appears) that it would be quite simple to have the footage reviewed and your possession(s) recovered. Think again. They won't help you. Knowing this, from personal experience, I don't let anything out of my sight/grasp, and never even go to this library anymore. College/Univ libraries, for those that are students or that sign up as just community members, are far quieter and actually have hours of operation that have them open before lunch and after dinner. - E Postscript. Another thing missing here is the overnight media drop-off that North Las Vegas (Aliante, Alexander) has. If you have a dvd or cd, there is a slot to drop it off during non-open hours where the item ends up inside the climate controlled library instead of the oven box outside that would cook the item. read more

Storytimes are usually excellent, and they have crafts afterward. The Clark County Library System is amazing in and of itself, not just limited to this location. I love that I can go online, find a book and request it from any library in Vegas, and it'll be delivered to MY local library so I can pick it up. AMAZING! They have a lot of perks, too. A quiet study room (which is actually very quiet despite being next to the kids section...once that door closes, no sound comes through), and you can reserve private study rooms that are also very quiet. Lots of places to setup your laptop and just work work work, complete with free wifi and outlets to plug in your dying laptop right there on the tables. Very friendly staff too. Self-checkout stands and easy, automated return system. read more

I love coming to this library. Spacious, ample computers, private rooms to study in, areas for the the young ones to play and read, seating along the windows on both sides, super easy check-out/in system, an art gallery that tends to go with the seasons, a bookstore, calendar of events, vending machines, and a partidge in a pear tree (I tend to end my sentences with that line when I feel the list is ongoing) lol. I've been to many libraries in this valley, and it's certainly worth coming to. Lots of parking around the building with access from both sides. The centennial hill park sits behind it so grabbing a book then laying a blanket for a read is an option. If you have the kids in tow, it's also a nice incentive to offer them to pipe down while in the library. Staff has always been friendly and informative. I've been coming since they've opened, and I walk in and still feel like it's new. Stroller friendly for sure! Enjoy! read more
