To the people engraving on desks on the 4th floor quiet room... At least use the right your :-)

Lied Library, my second home.. Pros: -Spacious, clean library w/ many open areas. Large desks to lay out all your work -Many resources available to students. Can check out books, headphones, cameras, laptops -plenty of fast computers (except during peak hours, good luck). You can use the touch screen on the first floor to see where available computers are -easy to print (3cents per b&w page) -constantly renovating to make better use of space and influx of students -quiet rooms/group study rooms -coffee and atm on the first floor. -food allowed Cons: -Study rooms fill up quick. First floor study rooms are reservable -no mercy if you're returning a rented laptop or book even a little late -be careful to leave your stuff unattended. They'll probably get stolen. -quiet rooms sometimes aren't too quiet -not their fault, but some students leave their work space quite dirty. I'm talking crumbs and fingernails. Yuck -closes early (6pm) on Saturdays

The 4th and 5th floors.

I was to the library for a roundtable discussion so I can't review the books nor the study areas. What I can say is that it is a beautiful building, unlike any library I've ever been in. I noticed on the way in that the dedication plaque read 2001 so it's somewhat new. I knew I was going to the Goldfield Room on the 3rd floor. I saw the stairs on entering, and I made my way to the 3rd floor. I studied the map and then saw a sign with an arrow showing visitors where the roundtable was being held. The roundtable was sponsored by the UNLV Special Collections Division. This division collects and preserves the history of Southern Nevada and especially Las Vegas. The moderator of the event was Dr. David Schwartz, the Director of the Center For Gaming Research at UNLV. The Center is part of the UNLV Special Collections Division. The room was large, bright, and the sound system for the discussion was excellent. What a super place for an event like this. I hope to go back to the library some day when I have nothing planned and just walk around and browse.

The Lied library was created in 2001 and cost over $55 million. I needed somewhere to study so I chose to study at this library for finals. This library has over four floors and its home to over thousands of books, computers, DVDs, CDs, and many more. I've checked out many books at this library and I personally never had a problem with the process. The library is really organized with their books, they have everything in sections and it's not hard to find what you're looking for. I've been to many library is where it was impossible to find a book, but this library is really on track with keeping everything in place. If you need to use the computer this is the place to go. You will need a UNLV ID and password, and this library is not open to the public in terms of using computers. So if you want to use a computer here, you have to have a friend that is enrolled in the university and can give you the correct login credentials. There are many places to study in the library. There are many quiet rooms where you can take your mind off of the noise and study for whatever you need to study for. Whether that be finals, a book report, or just you wanting to read. The study rooms are where you can relax. The staff is really helpful. I needed a library card to check out a couple books. The librarian helped me with everything I needed. And the process took less than five minutes. They knew how to smile and they were very respectful, and I was respectful back. These are the interactions that I love, and it keeps me coming back. Overall, I love coming to this library because it's one of the most quiet libraries I've ever been to. There's been times where I'd be at the library and it would be louder than my home. Where to start... Over the past 2 1/2 years I've probably been here over 200 times. So yes... I can tell you a little something about it! For all incoming freshman, Lied will become your second home over the next 4 years, let me explain why... Lied has a coffee bean located on the 1st floor. I don't recommend it, they're terribly inefficient and always have a line. There are 5 floor, all of which are equipped with super fast core i7 24" computers, group study rooms, and tables in case you have your own laptop. Floor 1: Has computers, large study rooms, and the coffee bean. What's pretty cool is they even have a kiosk that will tell you where to find an available computer on any floor. Also the info desk in the way back will allow you to checkout laptops and other media. Floor 2: more computers and open tables. If you're exiting the elevators directly to your left will be the tutoring center and also the alumni lounge/secret study area. Floor 3: study rooms, more computers and study tables and a quiet areas. Quiet areas are separate closed areas of the library where talking is prohibited. Also home to the Honors College and the Hospitality library/research center Floor 4: More computers/tables, study rooms far left out of elevators, and quiet zones (no talking is aloud, so it's a great place to find a table when it's busy). Floor 5: The loudest floor mainly because it has the most tables. This floor doesn't have as many computers and no quiet area. But it's still got study rooms and the best cellphone reception. Overall, this review doesn't come close to covering it all, there's so much that happens in Lied, it's best you set aside an hour and explore it yourself! Tips: There is little to no phone reception anywhere behind the elevators, up to the 4th floor. Best coverage is on the 5th or 1st. 3¢ to print B/W, 15¢ to make copies and 40¢ to print in color

I made a special trip in my rental car to see this marvel. Yes, I confess, I am sucker for a new library. I was not disappointed. What a cathedral of information. 5 stories high and large, it is one of the best wired and automated buildings I have ever seen. Given that Las Vegas, is an entertainment capital, the University offers degrees and training in the Arts. A collection of the library's main purpose is to ensure the free flow of inquiry into subjects. The catalog reflects the need for information on theatrical , photography and fine arts research. They have an excellent music library. I spent hours in the periodical section marveling at the pristine Billboard and Variety magazines. The subscription for those mags are expensive so it is rare I get to thumb through them. I love charts. I was impressed with the business and gaming industry holdings. In the "New Book" section alone I wrote down 5 titles to see if they are in California. I love money and statistics. After I made friends with the on duty reference librarian. I picked her brain on the information seeking needs of the students and patrons. I also was curious to hear what the Library and Information Science program is like in Nevada. No Ph.d program for moi! There is no public access for the Internet, that was the only negative. I will go back next time I am there.

Welcome to my second home! Haha I'm a Junior at UNLV and have spent many days in this library studying and cramming for exams. The cool thing about it is they have quiet rooms which are really nice. Also at my old university, they charged us for scantrons. But at the circulation desk they give them out for free here! Yaay. Two scantrons a day per student is the limit. One day I panicked because I left my student ID at home and I really needed to print out an assignment before class. I went up to the help desk and they printed it out for me. For free! Yes. Don't lose your student ID, it will cost around $20 to replace! The study rooms for groups are awesome. I made good use of those last semester. Last semester it was a first come first serve basis but now you can RESERVE them, so you are guaranteed a study room, which is a nice change. At the UNLV library page online is where you can go to reserve a study room. They also have monitors in each room and you can rent out mouses and keyboards free of charge for a few hours at a time. 3rd and 4th floors are quiet floors. 5th floor is a hang out/chill floor. Pros: spacious, clean, you can see which computers are available to work on by using the monitor on the first floor (green is available, red is not available), quiet rooms you can reserve, whiteboards available, opened until midnight, coffee bean on the first floor, chargers/plug ins are around every corner, friendly help desk, laptop rentals, and free wifi (of course) Cons: sketchy cell service sometimes! best cell reception is probably on the first floor. ***Tip: $0.03 per black and white page, students get 2 free scantrons a day, and parking after 7 pm behind the library is free!

If you need a place to sit, eat, and study on campus, then Lied Library is the place for you. There are five floors, some of which are quiet floors, and there are tables, couches, cubicles, and computers galore. Or well, depending on how busy the library is, sometimes that galore turns into "There's nowhere for me to sit except on the floor!" A lot of the tables and cubicles have access to outlets which is great because I have a bunch of electronic devices to charge all the time. There's also a Coffee Bean inside Lied where you can grab drinks and (overpriced) food. I'd prefer it more if Lied Library was 24 hours or even opened earlier on the weekdays than 7:30am because there's always a group of people waiting way before it opens. But until that happens, if ever, I wait patiently outside so I can get into the library and study.

As a huge nerd, it's not often that I get to see something that really blows my mind nerd-wise. I mean, short of actually looking at the Millenium Falcon, what can make your jaw drop? The Lied Library is what. See, the library is huge. It's modern. It has a ton of books. It's really laid-out well. Most of the people there are respectful. All cool things, sure. But amazing? No. Enter that robo-future-awesome thing that automatically grabs books all by itself, with user command, of course (it's not Skynet just yet). It's really cool, and it launches this library to the top. They also have a few meeting rooms towards the front of the library, one of which has a screen, fed by a projector, that is touch-sensitive. It's the coolest thing, my friends. As a student at UNLV, I spent a lot of time here. I loved it, and specially loved the student study rooms in the back that allowed you to study with a group of friends without interrupting the rest of the library. They're great. The librarians here, some of whom I've met in classes, really know they're stuff. Not only in terms of where books are, but online resources that are available gratis to UNLV students. It's just another thing that further brings this place to the top!

Big ol, big ol library! 5 floors (5th floor is always the coldest, nice in Vegas to have a cold place to study) it does get warmish here. They have quiet rooms, and you better be quiet it is a library. sheesh.. Large, clean, lot's of reference books, fantastic place to study, a poor grade will hurt you, so get in here and start studying!

Whenever I've had a question at the front desk or needed help checking something out, I've never had to wait long. One of the best things about this location is the self-checkout system. It's super easy to use ... you don't even have to scan each book, DVD, or video game individually. Just place everything on the scanner and it checks everything out at once. They also have a great selection of PS5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch games, which is something a lot of people probably don't realize libraries offer. The DVD selection is solid too. It gives me a little nostalgia of walking through Blockbuster back in the day. Instead of paying for streaming services all the time, I'd definitely recommend supporting your local library. I usually reserve my books, movies, or games online, and they notify me when they're ready. I just stop by, pick them up, and check out. The whole process is really smooth. One time they even called me quickly to let me know I accidentally returned my own video game with the library items, which I really appreciated. Renewing items online is also super easy. As long as nobody else has requested the item, they usually let you renew it without any issues. I personally don't stay long enough to study or hang around, so I can't really speak on the noise level like some reviews mention and rude employee interactions. For what I use it for ... quick pickups and returns, it has been perfect. The parking lot is spacious, and they even have 3D printers available for public use, which is pretty cool. You can also renew passports here, so the library really offers a lot more services than people realize. I've been to multiple libraries in the valley, including the Sahara location, and this library has consistently been one of the easiest and nicest ones I've been to.

My company sponsors it, so I brought thank you gifts for donors. The Red Cross staff is kind and gracious. I didn't take any photos insife the blood drive for privacy reasons, but it was full of exceptional members of our community set on saving lives. Whenever I visit Centennial Hills Library I always check out the book store, and it never disappoints. I usually get children's books to donate to the Obodo library. This time the books were for me though. I have that Kamala Harris book "The Truths We Hold" in my Amazon cart right now. That's so fun. It would have cost me a lot more than the $1 I paid here. Plus, proceeds go back to the library, so win! As I walked around snapping pictures, the staff wanted me to tell you some things. The gentleman monitoring the resource room invites everyone to come in. He's ready with computers, homework help, and more. The ladies at the desk by the hydroponics said this is actually an adult ed class and you will create hydroponics to take home. They said to come out and take part. The cashier at the entrance to the media section offered that there are so many great titles to choose from in the book store. I couldn't agree more. She added that it's a good idea to stop by first when you're think of shopping for books. In all it was a lovely visit and a beautiful day at the blood drive.

Yelp! review #50 of 2025…read more We come to Centennial Hills Library about once a month for a wonderful writing workshop that the library graciously hosts (huge thank-you to the staff for making that happen every time!). Plenty of free parking, the building is always spotless, feeling very safe and secure - there's even a security guard keeping an eye on the common areas. Public restrooms are surprisingly clean and well-stocked. There's a little vending machine nook perfect for grabbing a quick drink or snack between chapters. The workshop room is comfortable and quiet, and we love checking the events calendar ahead of time because there's almost always something else cool going on (story time, author talks, craft events) that we can pair with our workshop day. This branch is a hidden gem in the northwest - welcoming, well-maintained, and community-focused. We always look forward to our monthly visit and can't recommend it enough!

My 4- and 8-year-old still talk about him, and going to the library just isn't the same without seeing him there. My daughter practically grew up attending his Storytime. When she first started going, she was extremely shy and would cry if anyone approached her. Mr. Patrick noticed that right away and met her exactly where she was. Instead of overwhelming her, he would gently wave from a distance, give her space, and slowly build trust. Because of him, she became more comfortable and confident in that environment--and that means everything to me as a parent. With my son, he was just as incredible. He took the time to recommend books he knew he'd enjoy and would even walk with us to show him the "cool" chapter books. He didn't just do his job--he genuinely cared. He once said, "Kids can tell if adults are nice or not--they are wise," and he truly lived by that. It's such a shame to see someone like Mr. Patrick leave. People like him make a lasting impact on children and families, and those connections matter more than words can express. That said, we are very grateful for Ms. Jessica and Ms. Melissa. They continue to show kindness and dedication to the kids, and it's clear they are loved by the families who come back week after week. Librarians play such an important role--many of our children grow up with them, and they help shape their love for reading and learning. I truly hope our tax dollars are going toward supporting and properly compensating these amazing individuals who are making a real difference in our community.

There's always something going on, from yoga and workshops to tutoring and arts and crafts. It's definitely more than just a quiet library; it's a full community space. Since it's Mexican Heritage Month, they hosted a class where the kids made Frida Kahlo in inspired purses out of woven paper. My kids really enjoyed it! They got a little frustrated at first since weaving paper isn't the easiest thing if you're not used to it, but it was a great activity overall and they were proud of their creations. Such a great spot for families! We'll definitely be back!
