I enjoyed this library a lot. It just had a great vibe. We went there specifically to visit the bookstore and came away with a massive amount of great books! There's quite a few sections, and a lot of fiction for children, teens, and adults. There were a lot of dvds too! I noticed a bulletin board there with a lot of events listed. It seems like a very community and family driven library. I recommend this library to everyone! read more

The Whitney library was a joy to visit and peruse. We originally came to use their computer/internet to apply for licensing across country. We ended up with a membership card, checked out two books and a movie on DVD. We then bought five movies for five dollars. The library itself looks to be in a not-so-desirable neighborhood. But once we hit the parking lot, you really couldn't tell. While it's not a huge library, they have hundreds of titles and a vast array of events slated for the summer. They even have a jigsaw puzzle started for the community to enjoy. We know how much I love a good jigsaw, I placed two pieces for them. Members can check out a puzzle to take home, we just don't have the time, at the moment. They have plenty of parking, the staff were all so helpful and pleasant to talk to, we stayed much longer than planned. This library has resources for everyone of all ages. They have a huge selection of books for children and adults as well as movies. There is self-check out as well as easy drive-thru drop off. If you don't have time to look for a book, you can visit the website, look it up and place it on hold and when it's ready for you to pick up, a email is sent. If the resource you're looking for isn't available at this library location it's also an option to have it transported to the library of your convenience. There are some books that are not available as a hard copy but you can check out digitally as well. The library is very well organized, seperated, and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Although most things you can do yourself, there is enough staff members to assist if needed. read more

My three kids and I really like this local vegas library. The librarians here are always very kind, welcoming, and helpful. They always have patience when talking to the kids and answering questions. The only issue I have is that this library is rather small and doesn't exactly have the wide selection I was accustomed to as a youth but that's my standard from a different time and state. Overall my kids, ages ranging from 8 to 14 are always excited to take a trip to our local library, Thank you Whitney Library for keeping my kids excited through their reading journey. read more

I am really grateful to have this library in our neighborhood. It is always clean, and the staff are very friendly. They also host kids' events throughout the month that my kids enjoy going to. They get the chance to hang out and be creative with peers! This is my daughter's favorite place to hang out after school hours. I have been coming to story time on and off for 14 years! This last 2 years has been here, at Whitney library and usually with Ms Erin. The 5 and under story time is awesome, with songs and puppets, rhymes and dancing, not to mention BOOKS! We try to come early to play with their huge toy collection and hang out with other parents and children. There is always craft after the under 5's story time. On Wednesdays at 11.15 there is baby time! This is for under 18 months - we are about to graduate! It is an absolute joy to see these bubbies and the people that belong to them having fun with rhymes, scarves, shakers and stories and songs. Ms Erin really is the star of the show but if she is not there the other staff are awesome and engaging the children too. I like this library. It's huge. It's clean. They have a courtesy phone ( 90's pay phone style ) inside at the entrance for everyone to use free of charge. There's books, cds, audio books, video games, dvds etc. for people of all ages. And yes. They have new release movies not just old school movies. Lol. I also love how they have a teen zone for kids after school. I've seen some kids carrying a bagged lunch givin to them inside. But idk how that goes. In the teen room they have many tables and chairs. They also have a video game system equipped with Super Mario cart. My fave. On certain days they have a covid screening van that parks in the parking lot and does free covid tests. In order to get tested. You have to go on Curative.com to schedule an appointment. Fast. Free. They even do meals for seniors and sign people up for Medicaid. There is a room where they display local artists in a gallery style format, overall it's a very pleasant experience. The loudest librarians in the world! Today, I came here to study, and to read books to research my field of business. As I'm sitting down and trying to read, about 5 librarians working here are all having a loud group conversation by the check out booth. While I'm sitting here all the way in the back, I can hear the every words they are speaking. What a waste of my tax money! I went to make a complain directly at them to please be quiet because I'm trying to read, they simply apologized to me, but when I went back to sit at the same chair I was sitting all the way back in the library, the chit chatting started again as if they didn't give a flying damn about anyone in the library. This could be a funny skit in a comedy show. Hahaha I'm never coming back here without my noise cancelling AirPods Pro. Too bad I forgot them at home lol. read more

This branch of the library is clean, neat, and organized with friendly staff who are helpful and knowledgeable. I went with my son and daughter on a Sunday recently. I applied for a library card and I selected from several of their artwork the design of my card. They offer a wide selection of DVD's from older to newer releases. Upon self checkout there is a machine that deactivates the DVD so you can open the case to remove the DVD once you're ready to watch it at hoe. In the front there is an area where they sell gently used books, CD's and DVD's for $1.00. The second Sunday of every month starting at 2:00 pm, they show a recently released movie on DVD in there auditorium and that is followed by a discussion in the conference room. There is plenty of seating throughout the library as well as rooms that can be reserved if needed. There is an area of computers one can sign up for; a teen and children's area as well. The restrooms are clean, there is plenty of parking and security. We like this branch and recommend it if you are searching for a good library to hang out in or checking out materials, etc., read more

This place is great! Came here recently to print out a bunch of papers. The process was super easy. I did an online order from the library's website. Went in paid for it and that was it only $0.10 a page which is great if you have a lot of papers to print! Very fast service and the lady at the front counter was also extremely helpful! read more

This is a nice little library. It is small, but it has a decent selection of books, CDs, and DVDs. And what it doesn't have, you can request- either doing it yourself online or through their staff. Their staff is very friendly and helpful. They have little areas for you to study. And they have computers you can use and print from (not sure how much it costs). They have some fun activities going, especially for kids. I do wish they had more activities for adults. This is not a good area of town, so be aware of your surroundings, especially at night. They have an awesome security guard, so it's safer than it could be. read more

My philosophy on life is to try to live it as an adventure. On my days off from work, I try to escape to a park to enjoy an outside adventure. But there are only a certain number of days that I am off that I can partake in outside adventure. And so, on workdays I enjoy the inside adventures that a well-written book brings to my mind. The Whitney Library is one of the many trailheads of the Clark County Library System to board these literary hikes into the inside adventures. The Whitney Library is the closest Clark County public library to the City of Henderson. It is small one story building abutting the south of Tropicana Avenue between Nellis Boulevard and Boulder Highway. Because this is the closest Clark County Public Library to my apartment, I have made this my home library. The neat thing about the Clark County Library System is that the borrower can request a book from a distant branch that the library will deliver to the home library as a hold. The majority of the time I will stop here when I get in the mood for a certain subject or CD. The Whitney Library has a decent selection in a small well maintained public space. I see it as a Seven Eleven for picking up written adventures. My written adventures of choice are non fiction with a focus in biographies, rock n roll, travelogues, U.S. history, and miscellaneous subjects. The first book shelf when you walk in to the right of the book return holds new books. The library is up to the times with new books. Just recently they had the new released Bee Gees biography when it hit the press. On the way to the non-fiction section at the end of the rectangular library are the shelves holding DVDs, drawers holding CDs from Beethoven to Elton John. To the left are the computers and kid library. Deeper into the library, shelves hold volumes of fiction adventures. Beyond the fiction books are the shelves holding non-fiction adventures. This is where I spend the most time deciding what to read. In comparison to the sundry of libraries that I have spent time in, the selection of non-fiction books is decent. I would estimate that one side of an aisle is dedicated to music books that features books written about Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and Frank Sinatra. The majority are relatively up to date. Regardless that I fail to find a biography on Walt Disney here, the selection of performing arts books is decent. The US history and travelogue section could use more substance. I have visited the library wanting to take home an adventure on the Colorado River or a walk in the Appalachian Mountains to leave empty handed. On the other hand they have a decent selection on President biographies from President Washington to President Obama. It has always been in the back of my mind that I could get on the digital card catalog to request a book. The Whitney Library is more than books. It is a place that I visit to pick up a classic CD. When I read about Billy Joel for example, the written pages get me in the mood for the music. And the Whitney Library stocks up on sufficient CDs that have improved the soundtrack of my life. Surprisingly, the Whitney Library offers an impressive selection of WWE DVDs. On my last visit, I saw a rack dedicated to WWE DVDs. Complimenting a decent library is a decent staff. This is a library that I have been calling to renew my books when they are close to being overdue. The person on the other end of the phone has usually been friendly and helpful. The Whitney Library may not be a palace holding books but it is certainly a decent trailhead to follow the written adventures of a well-written book. Whitney is the library closest to my home. I have been going here for the past few years since I moved to the area. The staff at Whitney (especially at the circulation desk) are so friendly and helpful. There's also armed security on the premises, so consider this place extra safe. If you're looking for a quiet place to study, this might be a good place for you. I have personally come here many times to study. It's comfortable and there is Wi-Fi, so you can bring your own laptop/tablet/whatever. It's also super quiet, as a library should be. This particular branch is on the smaller side, but there's still a good selection. One of the things that I admire most about LVCCLD in general is the technology. If you don't see the book you're looking for at your home library, you can log into the online system, request the book from another branch, and you can pick it up at your home library. They send you an email when your holds arrive and even send you 3-day notice emails when your books are due. It's a very organized system. You can return books at any branch location. Another thing that I admire about LVCCLD is their programs. They have story time and other activities. All upcoming activities are always posted for you to see once you walk through the door. It's a great way to spend a day with the kids that has educational value. Really, if you haven't been here yet, just go! It's free and fantastic. read more

Came here to study and first they have a limited amount of seating and those they were available were the cubicle which gives you some privacy but not comfortable. They did have lounging type spots but I guess you've got to get there early for those spots. For a library it is a very nice and well kept, the staff is helpful and knowledgable. read more

A quaint little library out on the east end of Tropicana. No slot machines, but it's got plenty of comfortable chairs for if you just want some place quiet to get a little reading or work done, outside of the distractions at your place. The hawkish security guard looks like he's about ready to bichslap anyone who crosses his path, which helps keep things nice and quiet. read more

I was very spoiled in Denver living 4 blocks from the Central library so I was relieved when I moved over here and at least have this cute little local spot to go and pick up books. This is part of the Las Vegas Clark County Library District. The location is fairly easy to get to and has plenty of parking. Inside is a decent size but nothing huge. There seems to be more room dedicated to children and juvenile selections, which is understandable. It's clean with some great modern features like computerized check out and returns. From my experience, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The great thing about these library systems is that you can go online, find the book you want, and they'll deliver it to your library of choice. I do this quite often. This library is a little gem hidden in East Las Vegas. The building itself is super clean, colorful and spacious. They host many free children's programs and screen new-release movies about once a month. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They have a fairly large collection despite their size, with tons of movies and music CDs. The free wi-fi is easy is to use and fast to boot. My kids love coming here for storytime. They sing songs, read a book and usually do some kind of craft at the end. It can get a little crazy sometimes, people letting their kids run wild while the story is trying to be read, etc. I recently rediscovered the library by coming here for storytime. I didn't realize they had such a great selection and that you could get new releases at the library. I am a pretty fast reader and hate paying for a book I read in a day. It is super easy to request books online. I usually just run in to grab something I have requested off the hold shelf. They have computers you can reserve and like most libraries they have free wi-fi. I have tried to use their wi-fi printing but it seems like they are always having issues with it. They have a security guard that seems to keep everyone in line. I've never seen any problems here. read more

It might be a good library, but I would never go there by choice. My child had a performance there for his preschool. There were no working bathrooms, the a/c was out, and you could hear workers drilling loudly during the performance. No one at the library cared. To top it off there were bums outside drinking as we left. read more

One of the best Clark County Libraries that I have been to. I live in Henderson, so this is the closest one to my house. They have great programs on Saturdays for the kids. We lost a book and the guy there worked with us; only charged up the collection fee. We found the book and returned it. read more
