The Whitney library was a joy to visit and peruse. We originally came to use their computer/internet to apply for licensing across country. We ended up with a membership card, checked out two books and a movie on DVD. We then bought five movies for five dollars. The library itself looks to be in a not-so-desirable neighborhood. But once we hit the parking lot, you really couldn't tell. While it's not a huge library, they have hundreds of titles and a vast array of events slated for the summer. They even have a jigsaw puzzle started for the community to enjoy. We know how much I love a good jigsaw, I placed two pieces for them. Members can check out a puzzle to take home, we just don't have the time, at the moment. They have plenty of parking, the staff were all so helpful and pleasant to talk to, we stayed much longer than planned. Seems silly to write-up a library but when I opened my Yelp app, I got pop-ups instructing me to. Now, I'm happy I did. 05/24

This library has resources for everyone of all ages. They have a huge selection of books for children and adults as well as movies. There is self-check out as well as easy drive-thru drop off. If you don't have time to look for a book, you can visit the website, look it up and place it on hold and when it's ready for you to pick up, a email is sent. If the resource you're looking for isn't available at this library location it's also an option to have it transported to the library of your convenience. There are some books that are not available as a hard copy but you can check out digitally as well. The library is very well organized, seperated, and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Although most things you can do yourself, there is enough staff members to assist if needed.

I have been coming to story time on and off for 14 years! This last 2 years has been here, at Whitney library and usually with Ms Erin. The 5 and under story time is awesome, with songs and puppets, rhymes and dancing, not to mention BOOKS! We try to come early to play with their huge toy collection and hang out with other parents and children. There is always craft after the under 5's story time. On Wednesdays at 11.15 there is baby time! This is for under 18 months - we are about to graduate! It is an absolute joy to see these bubbies and the people that belong to them having fun with rhymes, scarves, shakers and stories and songs. Ms Erin really is the star of the show but if she is not there the other staff are awesome and engaging the children too. DO NOT go to story time unless you are ready to have the bubblegum song stuck in your head all day! F$&K Ms Rachel - it's Ms Erin and the team at Whitney library - hands down!

I like this library. It's huge. It's clean. They have a courtesy phone ( 90's pay phone style ) inside at the entrance for everyone to use free of charge. There's books, cds, audio books, video games, dvds etc. for people of all ages. And yes. They have new release movies not just old school movies. Lol. I also love how they have a teen zone for kids after school. I've seen some kids carrying a bagged lunch givin to them inside. But idk how that goes. In the teen room they have many tables and chairs. They also have a video game system equipped with Super Mario cart. My fave. On certain days they have a covid screening van that parks in the parking lot and does free covid tests. In order to get tested. You have to go on Curative.com to schedule an appointment. Fast. Free. Easy. Great library. It's gonna be my go to spot.

This branch of the library is clean, neat, and organized with friendly staff who are helpful and knowledgeable. I went with my son and daughter on a Sunday recently. I applied for a library card and I selected from several of their artwork the design of my card. They offer a wide selection of DVD's from older to newer releases. Upon self checkout there is a machine that deactivates the DVD so you can open the case to remove the DVD once you're ready to watch it at hoe. In the front there is an area where they sell gently used books, CD's and DVD's for $1.00. The second Sunday of every month starting at 2:00 pm, they show a recently released movie on DVD in there auditorium and that is followed by a discussion in the conference room. There is plenty of seating throughout the library as well as rooms that can be reserved if needed. There is an area of computers one can sign up for; a teen and children's area as well. The restrooms are clean, there is plenty of parking and security. We like this branch and recommend it if you are searching for a good library to hang out in or checking out materials, etc.,

This is a nice little library. It is small, but it has a decent selection of books, CDs, and DVDs. And what it doesn't have, you can request- either doing it yourself online or through their staff. Their staff is very friendly and helpful. They have little areas for you to study. And they have computers you can use and print from (not sure how much it costs). They have some fun activities going, especially for kids. I do wish they had more activities for adults. This is not a good area of town, so be aware of your surroundings, especially at night. They have an awesome security guard, so it's safer than it could be.

Lots of books to choose from!

Whenever I've had a question at the front desk or needed help checking something out, I've never had to wait long. One of the best things about this location is the self-checkout system. It's super easy to use ... you don't even have to scan each book, DVD, or video game individually. Just place everything on the scanner and it checks everything out at once. They also have a great selection of PS5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch games, which is something a lot of people probably don't realize libraries offer. The DVD selection is solid too. It gives me a little nostalgia of walking through Blockbuster back in the day. Instead of paying for streaming services all the time, I'd definitely recommend supporting your local library. I usually reserve my books, movies, or games online, and they notify me when they're ready. I just stop by, pick them up, and check out. The whole process is really smooth. One time they even called me quickly to let me know I accidentally returned my own video game with the library items, which I really appreciated. Renewing items online is also super easy. As long as nobody else has requested the item, they usually let you renew it without any issues. I personally don't stay long enough to study or hang around, so I can't really speak on the noise level like some reviews mention and rude employee interactions. For what I use it for ... quick pickups and returns, it has been perfect. The parking lot is spacious, and they even have 3D printers available for public use, which is pretty cool. You can also renew passports here, so the library really offers a lot more services than people realize. I've been to multiple libraries in the valley, including the Sahara location, and this library has consistently been one of the easiest and nicest ones I've been to.

My company sponsors it, so I brought thank you gifts for donors. The Red Cross staff is kind and gracious. I didn't take any photos inside the blood drive for privacy reasons, but it was full of exceptional members of our community set on saving lives. Whenever I visit Centennial Hills Library I always check out the book store, and it never disappoints. I usually get children's books to donate to the Obodo library. This time the books were for me though. I have that Kamala Harris book "The Truths We Hold" in my Amazon cart right now. That's so fun. It would have cost me a lot more than the $1 I paid here. Plus, proceeds go back to the library, so win! As I walked around snapping pictures, the staff wanted me to tell you some things. The gentleman monitoring the resource room invites everyone to come in. He's ready with computers, homework help, and more. The ladies at the desk by the hydroponics said this is actually an adult ed class and you will create hydroponics to take home. They said to come out and take part. The cashier at the entrance to the media section offered that there are so many great titles to choose from in the book store. I couldn't agree more. She added that it's a good idea to stop by first when you're think of shopping for books. In all it was a lovely visit and a beautiful day at the blood drive.

Yelp! review #50 of 2025…read more We come to Centennial Hills Library about once a month for a wonderful writing workshop that the library graciously hosts (huge thank-you to the staff for making that happen every time!). Plenty of free parking, the building is always spotless, feeling very safe and secure - there's even a security guard keeping an eye on the common areas. Public restrooms are surprisingly clean and well-stocked. There's a little vending machine nook perfect for grabbing a quick drink or snack between chapters. The workshop room is comfortable and quiet, and we love checking the events calendar ahead of time because there's almost always something else cool going on (story time, author talks, craft events) that we can pair with our workshop day. This branch is a hidden gem in the northwest - welcoming, well-maintained, and community-focused. We always look forward to our monthly visit and can't recommend it enough!
