I scheduled a new patient consult after confirming multiple times with the office that the visit would be fully covered by my insurance. I specifically asked before booking, at check-in, and again after the appointment. The visit itself lasted about 1-2 minutes. The dentist performed a brief visual exam and told me everything looked fine. No periodontal probing, charting, or treatment planning was done. The office initially billed my insurance under a comprehensive periodontal evaluation code, which did not reflect the services performed. After I questioned it, they resubmitted the claim under a limited exam code, which was then denied due to frequency limitations. I was ultimately required to pay $50 to avoid collections. What disappointed me most was not just the billing issue, but the lack of empathy when I raised concerns to "Rafi". There was no acknowledgment of the miscommunication or incorrect initial coding .. just a firm statement that it was "my responsibility." Clear communication about coverage and better billing transparency would have prevented this situation. I hope the office improves this process for future patients. very disappointed. read more

After I informed them that I had left them a one star review, they agreed to honor their original in-network quote. I have increased the review to three stars since they eventually did the right thing. I do not feel they deserve higher than three stars due to the months of back and forth via phone calls and emails that it took to get to this point. In response to their response, phone and email did not rectify the situation, only a negative review worked. read more

Great experience start to finish. The doctor and front office staff are fantastic. Everyone there is very knowledgeable at their job and never rushed. Dr. Henriod and his assistant we're very caring and made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole procedure. They made my follow up care easy to understand. I was seen at every visit promptly. A week after my procedure I reached out when they were closed and left a message. As soon as they reopened, they got back to me and answered my question clearly. First, let me start off by saying how incredibly grateful I am to Pasadena Periodontics. During this time of uncertainty, I wasn't sure if I was considered an emergency case or could postpone being seen. I can't express how thankful I am to Dr. Joel Henriod, Carol, Carmen, and his entire staff. I had a case of inflamed gums, swollen lymph nodes, and an abscess that had recently developed. I called Pasadena Periodontics around 4:45p and spoke with Carol. I emailed her photos of my gums and abscess (not cute). Needless to say, I was seen the following morning at 9a. The office is immaculate with state of the art equipment. New patient registration was emailed and a breeze to fill out online. The office has their own lot with ample parking, and a coffee station for all your morning needs. Above all, treatment was painless. Pasadena Periodontics has been THE BEST dental experience I have ever had. Everyone on the team - receptionists, hygienists, and doctors - has a polite and friendly beside manner. Dr. Henriod is one of my favorite doctors and I sincerely wish he could be my primary dentist. Really great experience at Dr. Henriod's Office! First of all, the building is a standalone building with its own private parking lot, so that made visits a lot easier. Also, parking is free and it's amply sized for the size of the office so there's always plenty of space. The building is also very clean and well kept and it feels comfortable visiting even though the dental procedures are going to be distressing. It's nice having a pleasant soothing environment around you when you're feeling distressed. Secondly, the staff is great! The front office is very friendly and helpful and easy to contact, they are some of the best medical office staff I've ever dealt with. Every time I've called with a question (such as insurance issues) they have been not just happy to help but they are also capable and knowledgeable. His dental assistants are also very friendly and skilled, I felt confident in their ability and they also made me feel welcome. Lastly, Dr. Henriod himself is great. He really takes the time to listen to you and answer every question, and you can tell that he really cares. I came in with a cracked tooth which was incredibly painful, it was so bad that the root canal specialist I went to couldn't numb it to do further analysis even after several injections into my gum. It took awhile, but Dr. Henriod skillfully got the area numb and extracted the tooth. He also did a bone graft and implant. The calm and soothing demeanor of Dr. Henriod was incredibly appreciated during that extraction after I had been in so much pain. This may sound a little hyperbolic but after that procedure I really can't imagine having went to any other doctor to do the procedure. Due to the complexity of my procedures, I went to the office several times over the course of almost a year and every time I was always seen close to my appointment time and did not have to sit and wait forever. Also, I want to add that I found out about Dr. Henriod through my mom who also went to him for a procedure, and he is literally the periodontist I would recommend to any loved ones I know who were looking for one. read more

It was my first visit but I am extremely impressed with Pasadena Periodontics. The staff was very welcoming and efficient ; I was checked in on time (although I was running 10 minutes late myself, shamefully). The office is very organized, great ambiance and I can hear other patients chatting and laughter , which is a good sign. Dr. Joel has very calming presence that can put anyone at ease. Even though I'm a "seasoned " healthcare provider but still very apprehensive of dental treatments, but Dr. Henriod and his staff made the appointment a comfortable experience. Very efficient office staff. My last appointment was with my hygienist and she was very efficient and did a great job! Never have to wait beyond my appointment time and often taken earlier if I arrive before my scheduled appointment.
