Was very disappointed with the service and front office personnel. I went in for cleaning and check up. When I made my appointment I specifically let them know I wanted the dentist to take a look at one chipped tooth. Once the person who cleaned my teeth was done. He told me that the Dentist Dr. B was too busy and could not see me. That I could come back again in 2 weeks. Really!! Dr Vivian and Lupe spent most time with me, but I also met with Drs B and D and their support staff, and every one of them was professional, friendly, and super happy to work with patients and answer questions. After being with my dentist for 24 years I was extremely reluctant to switch to a new dentist. However since my insurance was changed to a new provider I had no choice but to let go (more like forced). I just had my crown fall out and couldn't have picked a worst time for this to happen. With the Coronavirus lurking around, I could not find any dentist available for at least two weeks under my insurance plan. And if losing my crown was not bad enough, my tongue was rubbing against a sharp edge of what was left underneath. With the aid of Yelp, I discovered Dr B and threw a Hail Mary! Without having a prior relationship with him, he stepped up big time and took me in (like all other dentists he was unavailable during this time period due to the virus)! Needless to say, Dr B is not only one of the coolest guys I ever met (including his staff), but he knows his stuff and is cutting edge!!! When is an appointment not an appointment? When it's made at Prestige Dental, apparently. I had an appointment for today, but when I arrived 25 mins early, I was told that my appointment had been canceled because I hadn't confirmed it. I was shocked. I had not been told that my appointment was only tentative or a place holder, and that a confirmation would be necessary to make it official. It is misleading as best, manipulative at worst, to give a potential client the impression that they have an appointment when you yourself know that you will cancel should they fail to comply with a secret policy that has not ever. been communicated. I would have had no problem had I been informed that the appointment was tentative only, and I actually don't understand the motivation for not stating that outright to the clients. But the person at the front desk was not only completely unapologetic, but somewhat contemptuous, appearing to think the whole thing was my fault when I was actually the recipient of the misleading information, not the conveyer. Fortunately, I had not taken the time to fill out the paperwork online beforehand, which would have cost me quite a bit of time (and the reason I arrived so early), so I am only suffering the loss of the time it took to find and research this dentist, make the "appointment," and drive the short distance there. It is by no means a huge loss; it certainly could have been a much bigger inconvenience. But about the research I did--turns out those positive reviews may be misleading as well. The lobby contains a sign that urges people to write yelp reviews and receive a $10 Starbucks card. All those reviews should state that they received an incentive for the review. I urge this dental practice to either change their appointment policy or simply be honest about it, and to review their communications generally for misleading information, particularly since their own yelp profile page states, "Our practice is based foremost on integrity and honesty." Misleading speech is unethical speech, which is a slippery slope to unethical actions. read more

Prestige Dental is just that..Prestige! The staff, the Dentist, the upgraded technology and equipment are just a few of the things that set the bar high for Dentistry. The whole staff goes out of their way to accommodate and make you feel comfortable and at ease during your visit. They are very educational and DR. B makes sure to explain everything in detail. Both Hygienist, Brandon and Gene, are exceptional, caring and great. The assistants Rita and Julie(front desk) are wonderful. All the times I visited, they have been very professional and cheerful. I have had a veneer replaced, 2 cavities filled and a few cleanings. I couldn't ask for a better experience. The staff becomes family, and they treat you as such also. Dr. B is genuinely one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He's extremely passionate and a perfectionist. If he doesnt like the end result of a crown, bridge, veneer, he will strongly suggest to let the work be corrected. He absolutely cares about making patients healthy and happy. I was disappointed to see they would not honor the promotion they have on their website. I have attached a photo I save from Jan 3 2022. Also, Yelp says they accept insurance, that is not really true... they are bill immediately for fees and will (on your behalf) submit insurance. To be clear, I have never been to the offices or had the service, but I want to others be aware that it was their false promotion and false information that led me to contacting them. I think the Pasadena general community needs to become more aware of business doing false advertisements and publishing untrue facts to further their business. The odd thing is this particular office does not need the business, they are evidently booked solid for a long time. Again, I have never visited Prestige Dental, but I think the other business in Pasadena should be very aware of false business practices in order to monopolize the market. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. B for over a year now and I am very pleased with the services offered. When I began going to him, he was the first dentist that actually listened to my health concerns and performed an overall exam that helped discover a cavity that had been neglected for years by past dentists and fixed the issue quickly. Dr. B also gave me a new retainer to better fit my mouth to prevent further complications. As a side note, I was so pleased I didn't have to find an orthodontist to perform this extra task, like I have in the past. He does everything in one place! Their two dentists are the best dentists I have ever had. Friendly, efficient and take great pride in the work they do. When I'm in my home country and a dentist sees their work, they always comment that it's really good work. They have a steady stream of hygienists, so you'll rarely see the same one again. But they clearly have high expectations of them, so they have all been excellent and friendly. And a cleaning comes with a nice goody bag. The front desk is also very friendly and willing to explain things in extra detail if I need. Perhaps the two downsides are that they are insanely busy and if you can get regular appointments you are very lucky. Long version - Usually I'm a food reviewer, but I had such an amazing experience here that I can't not share it. I was looking for a new dentist in the Pasadena area, and this place came up in my search. The reviews looked fantastic, the technology seemed state of the art, and my insurance covered it - so why not give it a shot? I had my general exam and cleaning done here a couple of days ago, and it was definitely my best dental experience to date! During my cleaning, my jaw started to ache and the dental assistant was considerate to let me rest my jaw for several minutes instead of just pushing on with me in pain. Usually, the one reason why I somewhat shy away from dentists is because I have a very sensitive gag reflex... I actually threw up on a dental assistant in the past. During my xray exam, you're usually required to bite down on some hard item, which always triggers my gag reflex. But the dental assistant was willing to work with me to make sure I got through it "throw up" free... And I did, gladly enough! At the very end, I met Dr B. and he gave me a very detailed review about my xray results that I haven't ever received before. I definitely learned a lot about teeth/gum architecture that day and the effects that braces and toothbrush type can have on your teeth/gums. So amazing (also I just enjoy learning stuff, so all of it was fascinating to me...)! All my life I've had mediocre to bad dental experiences and at 30 years old I was surprised to find a completely different experience when I came to Prestige. Not only was Dr. B really great at explaining to me what's going on and what to expect (I found the experience so informative) but he was also really quick, efficient and knowledgeable about the problems I had. One quick look and he knew my teeth sensitivity was due to a receding gum line instead of cavities, and gave me a quick treatment and some tips to manage the sustainability back at home. Since my situation wasn't too bad, a few months after the treatment, switching toothpastes, brushing lightly and eating firmer whole foods, I no longer feel the pain I used to have. On top of that, he found two small cavities that were due to old fillings, so I had to come in twice. Both times, I was able to fall asleep during the treatment. It honestly surprised me because I have never had a dental experience that was comfortable enough where I could catch up on some much needed rest. The staff here is also so incredibly wonderful, friendly and kind. I feel so grateful for what they do for us to make our experience enjoyable. read more

Don't be lazy and trusting one dentistry too much! The effort you saved will double up as trouble. At first I trusted the good reviews and came, well, the doctor's manner was good, although there are something unpleasant, like the front desk messing up with the appointment time, I just live with it expecting they will be better. But maybe they got more customers from reading yelp? Waiting time became longer and longer, 1 hour is very often, double booking patients wouldn't look like that. But even if you do your best to endure with it, there are something that's unbearable， enormous charges and hidden fees! They may talk you into doing something showing you the price that you finally manage to accept, but on the bills will be more and more unexpected items, and eventually explode. Learn my lesson, stay away from that place for implant! -------------------------------- Update: The doctor made corrections to the charges and I have to say his attitude and skills are pretty good. So......alll my life, ever since I've been going to the dentist has always been a terrible and scary experience. I had one of those old school dentists..you know. My old dentist couldn't speak English very well, he had old school methods..and a high drive for pain. I avoided it at all costs. Then, my bf was telling me how I needed to put our insurance to good use so I searched and searched for a dentist in our area. Landed upon Prestige Dental. They were booked for about a month, but I secured a spot in and got some cleaning and x-rays done. Guys..I have never gotten so much service done on my teeth like how they did upon the first visit. Everything that they did was so foreign and new to me that..I was just pleasantly surprised. How delicate they were with cleaning my teeth, how FRIENDLY and attentive they were to every little detail of myself and my teeth. I felt comfortable..I felt safe hahah. 3 different people worked on my teeth for separate reasons..1 cleaning, 2 x-rays, 3 the actual doctor and all of them noticed my implant and how strange it looked. So now we have a new implant scheduled and in the works..and I'm..dare I say..excited?! But in all honesty, this was the best..most professional experience that I've ever had. Before seeing Dr. B, my previous Dentist had me convinced that I was barely functional in the ways of Dental hygiene, despite daily flossing and twice to thrice daily brushing. I used to get cleanings 3-4 times a year and half expected to need dentures by age 50. But Dr. B has me down to 2 annual cleanings (standard) and reinforces my quality home care.
